I wouldn't celebrate just yet, everything logically would suggest they are not the mountains. Of the 4 locations only Wen and Ful are found in 'mountain' areas (Ice Mountain and Thzaar volcano) and both of these locations are known to have a lot of tunnels and excavations in them which would suggest they can't actually be the Elder God, unless of course the entire Thzaar Tokhaar Kiln and tunnel to Crandor are inside Ful and the dwarf mines and such inside Wen, just on top of them. The other 2 aren't even on mountains at all 1 is on a flat plateau and the other on a very flat island. They didn't say anything about making the nihils drop stuff, only about making them a slayer task.

Skilling questions (from a returning player)
Just to add ot the Divination thing Polar got the wording a bit derped up. Divination is not what Smithing is to Mining. Divination is what Mining is to Smithing. It is the gathering skill that does have limited scope beyond getting a resource (much like wc fish and mine), Inventor the artisan skill due to go into dev this summer with any luck will pair with it (as well as influencing other skills) to give a greater use to the energies. Though divination does have its uses in present form thanks to the assorted signs and divine skilling locations that can turn a profit or provide a tangible useful function.

Interesting tidbits in the FAQ this week. 1) The elder chronicle fragments do indeed denote where the Elder Gods are located 2) Wen is confirmed as the name of the ice one. 3) The head on entrana was going to give us the last name but close dev cycles scuppered tht, though they might still put it in. 3) The patterns on their eggs mark their seniority Jas is eldest (hexagons) > Ful (Pentagons) > Wen (Quadrilaterals) > ??? (Triangles) > Mah is the youngest (smooth with single spiral) 4) Loosely speaking the 4 elements derive from the older 4 Jas = air, Ful = Fire, Wen = water, ??? = earth 5) Elder Gods are best thought of as representing an element of time. Jas is progression, Ful is Constancy, Wen is Reversion, ??? is alteration and Mah is potential 6) Tidbits on the world gate worlds, they did try to match the letters to the world but in the end it all went wrong. H - is for 'Hallowed Isles' a non-canon name for New Domina L - Was going to be Laceritum the Dragonrider homeworld, but this was ditched due to the way Ooak went so Teragard was slotted in M - is for 'Muspell' and is supposed to be the Auspah homeworld N - is for Naragun the Naragi homeworld T - is for Tarddiad which is the elven homeworld 7) Muspah are planned to get some unique drop and become a lvl 76 'opt in' slayer assignment along with Nihils 8) The World Gate was made to contain portals created using the Sword. The Void was opened up when Guthix cut too deep shattering the sword in the process. Valutta had post-quest dialogue about this until it was pointed out you can't reach her.

The Tokhaar and the Kiln are 1 Elder artefact - they are born from the lava of the kiln and they return to the lava of the kiln. The kiln itself is the literal artefact and the tokhaar are the manifestation of its power - a sentient race that use the kilns power to forge the land - but ultimately are still part of the kiln and return to the kiln. Osbourne has covered that a few times in QAs and such.

Y'know what else kinda ruled that out? Zaros being referenced as a God in the god letters and in cryptic in-game stuff prior the the Mahjaratt even existing as a concept within the game and well before they were given any tie to Zaros. Zaros as the 'dead' must not be spoken about god is a fact left over from the Andrew Gower original lore, back when Sara, Zammy and Guthix were 3 brothers who claimed to have created the world. God letters are not strictly canon. Guthix's mannerism of speech and referring to the other gods as "brothers". Saradomin calls Guthix his brother, which could be seen as a priest/Christianity relation thing, but why would Guthix call Saradomin or Zamorak "brother"? Oh, I have the answer for this though. Except in game he does not refer to them as "brother" but rather by name directly. Oh and Naragi. As well as being "unique in all of the worlds' ... except the Naragi homeworld of course. Annnnd But I hope Guthix was right and the God letters are canon. Because then he isn't really dead. Oh but Jagex themselves says they are non-canon: http://services.runescape.com/m=rswiki/en/God_Letters Yes the God Letters are not strictly canon but the example of Zaros must not being spoke of does not contradict any more recent additions and is the most finite example of the concept so there is no reason to not use it as an example point, especially as I even referenced the fact other in-game stuff follows the same line and that it was a leftover from the god letters lore days. They are a perfectly fine source for filling in grey details as long as you do so with the awareness that anything newer entirely supercedes them and is not a contradiction. The same as pretty much any fandom universe does - non-canon sources are allowed to fill in grey details, as long as said detail does not contradict anything from the official canon and is only valid so long as this remains true. Also side bar your point about the 'I have no race' comment is invalid. It is established in the current lore gods have no race and they stop being of their race as soon as they ascend. Guthix was not a Naragi, Saradomin is not a human, Armadyl is not an Aviansie, Zamorak is not a Mahajaratt, Marimbo is not a monkey, Brassica Prime is not a cabbage. They originally were these races/things but after ascending they are not anymore. Plus his being unique in all the worlds is not an issue either - he was the only Tier 2 god to have ascended instead of being created making him unique and he was the only Naragi origin god as all the others died so he was unique in that respect too. Where as other gods are not unique due to sharing tiers of ascension and most if not all of them their origin race still lives so they could be made less unique by another ascending. So all told that passage holds up even in todays lore.- 24 March 2014 - Fate of the Gods

I think the rewards were pretty amply considering this is basically the start of the Zaros story arc. I mean 325k div xp? 225k combat xp? 125k magic xp? 100k slayer xp? 75k Agility xp? 50k summon xp? That's like 900k xp just for one quest - not many quests boast that much reward. Then on top of that you have all the lore reward The perma ring of visibility - which is a pretty handy utlity in terms of discovering hidden teasers and ghost peng use. A pocket slot item that makes the entirety of GWD non-aggressive? New creatures that offer pretty decent xp and drops to fight? Another set of creatures that could make a pretty viable Nex training ground for newer pvmers? All in all its kinda very rewarding for the length and difficulty.- Future Update Discussions

Also don't forget that disease can lengthen the plants growth times. How disease works is: At the end of a growth cycle the plant grows or becomes diseased. A diseased plant does not grow and has to repeat that cycle (getting another chance to grow if cured or dying if not) A plant you pay to protect can still get diseased it is just instantly cured, but yeah again every time it gets diseased and insta-cured can add hours to the growth time.- Future Update Discussions
Well, as teleports go through the fabric of the Abyss, normally we would be able to teleport. As we can teleport from the goblin world and Kethsi, it further proves this, or it's just because of Jagex coding. Indeed it seems as if teleport magic isn't limited by the world you are on and instead is pinpointed/anchored to a specific point on a specific planet meaning even from other worlds we bounce through the abyss to the Gielinor locale. Sidebar: It'd kinda be cool if Jagex built in a thing where teleports were harder when off-world depending on how foreign the world was. Like they required a higher level and maybe items/lodestones would have a slightly longer animation and/or not function without a 'signal booster' type item (would work nice for invent me thinks). Then maybe let us build something there to act as an anchor eg maybe a fairy ring or a lodestone 'antenna' that would allow them to function normally.- 7-Jan-2014 - Player-Owned Ports - The Next Journey
~70% to shield, 1 crew to go + ship bits. Slow and steady gets there eventually.- Future Update Discussions
There's every possibility that it was not in the shadow realm until recently. It was 'consumed by the emptiness' in the 2nd age which is taken to mean Zaros sealed it BUT there is every possibility that when Guthix kicked the gods out at the end of the third age he further hid the gate, seeing as it'd be a logical way back in. Which would also explain why there has been some delay on Zaros returning - maybe since Guthix died the gate has slowly become exposed once more in the Shadow Realm where Zaros left it. Or perhaps Zaros himself buried it deep and since the shield fell has been able to expose it from afar. Whatever the case I'd assume its a safe bet it hasn't just been sitting there in the Shadow Realm and has only recently re-appeared. If it was sitting there the reason it was not used by Sliske could be quite simple - 9/10 gateways block us from entering at the moment implying there is some power working on the gate to block its usage. In fact Frenskae gateway may only be usable because again Zaros has unsealed it in order to let someone through to help with the final stages of his return to a body.- Future Update Discussions
It's possible you're right but it just seems like a bit of a curveball given the current info we have. Azzanadra's entire plot arc in game so far is about reconnecting with Zaros and then working on his wishes once more and the most recent memories lore even points out he was the highest ranking priest in Zaros empire and one of the few in Zaros direct confidence at the end. Heck he is even in contact with Zaros right now since we re-established the portal so can be receiving instructions of how to help Zaros return best. Sliske meanwhile is known for being a trickster and having ulterior motives. In TWW he actively went against the other Zarosians by killing Guthix and between that and owning the Staff of Armadyl + Stone of Jas he appears well on the way to obtaining his own godhood all whilst having gods kill each other off - and Zaros was one of the invited to play this game. All in all his loyalty to Zaros is highly questionable at best. I mean lets not forget Sliske was the one who led the Mahjaratt to betray the desert pantheon and defect to Zaros - he literally has history of betraying the god he was supposed to be serving.- Future Update Discussions
Tier 2 gods can leave their body at will this makes them near impossible to kill unless they want to die (like Guthix) Zaros and Seren were born gods and have an external power source they can regen from - this makes them doubly impossible to kill. Zaros and Seren are a much higher tier than Bandos and the others. Bandos and Armadyl were equals in terms of power and it simply came down to who had the most divine energy to blast first. Its not about favouritism or bias it is pure a simple Zaros and Seren are a different league to the Gods in the main foray of battling and thus are treated differently. If any of the current gods went up against Saradomin at this point they'd likely lose as he has made it to Tier 3 and so is stronger than their Tier 4 Status. Equally if they went after Zamorak he'd likely lose as he is only Tier 5 now. Similarly any of the gods could easily smush Icthalrin and co as they are mere Tier 7 and Tier 6 entities. Alongside this the idea of the 6th age is that some of the progress is decided by the community in events and other elements are directed in unique ways via quest content. Trying to override peoples unique choice with Zaros by aggregate afterwards is just stupid. It frankly makes sense for Zaros, Seren and the Elder Gods to be the quest content because they are so powerful they can't really be killed by any other deity or mortal unless they come to a reasoned choice to allow themselves to die for the good of Gielinor and the best way to reason them to such a point is through personal connection and interaction that can only come in quests. I don't think there is any intentional bias in the writing of the Gods within the same 'blocks' aside from the fact some are simply more powerful or more important and the story reflects this (eg Zaros) but they are treated as separate 'blocks' anyway.- Future Update Discussions
^ Some how I think the choice will be obvious when you have to make it and not at all ambiguous.- Future Update Discussions
What we do know thus far is: The quest will let you help or hinder Zaros return. The quest features a choice between siding with Sliske or siding with Azzanadra Sliske does at least bring the World Gate out of the Shadow Realm to help. Judging by those few facts I'd guess siding with Sliske = hinder Zaros return and siding with Azzanadra = help Zaros return- Future Update Discussions
Considering several jmods have specifically said make sure you have finished all 15 memories and filled up the box for it to work on frenskae I'm gonna go with yes.- Dung binds/dps
People who say 2h is better primary to bow are stuck in the old ways and stupid. Ranged is the best class in dg. As for the rings its kinda opinion. Sniper + Desperado is the best dps setup, but having just sniper for gatherer secondary can help with surviving as it lowers skill fail dmg quite a bit. In pure metagame terms the first wins hands down, but really its up to you if you wanna go for that all out dps or add a bit extra survivability to avoid deaths. The only thing I'd say is in terms of your load out with only 4 slots afaik hood is preferential to bn, especially because bn loses some functionality if you are not meleeing/in melee range of many things.- Future Update Discussions
The guy who got them rings thou going straight from omg i got hacked to (hopefully) omg I got banned for bug abuse all through being stupid enough to profiteer off the obvious error.- 17 March 2014 Mahjarrat Memories
But they don't need to consider it a sin for the theory to pan out, if the energy now being used for regeneration was always propitiation via new life it'd just be an inbuilt result of their culture regardless of their opinion on it. Plus we must not forget I am not saying this is something they knowingly do and the comment comes from Zaros so the word choice is not reflective of how they think about. Equally I am not saying there is a specific reference it is used that way - like I said it is not there in black and white that is why it is a THEORY and not a fact. It is based on the facts we do have and filling in grey areas with THEORY that does not contradict these facts. The simpler reading has just as much not there in black and white theory to it - Zaros does not say the energy was given to Mah that is purely theory based on his wording. The fact the energy ever went anywhere other than into the mahjaratt themselves to regenerate them is also just a theory with no evidence either way since nothing in the memories says where it went. etc. I'll admitted when I first posted early in the morning I made a booboo in overstating my theory as fact, but I am not retconing anything - I have a well thought through theory that does not contradict any single fact of information we have been given thus far. It may not be the most straight forward reading of the facts or the least complicated theory to fill in some of the blanks, but it does not contradict anything so there is no reason to claim it is wrong or breaks anything. I am not one to make up a crack-pot theory for the sake of it regardless of lore, I'm a lore nerd if I make up a theory I am careful that it does account for all we have been told and does not contradict any of it, even if it uses a more nuanced interpretation (which tbf isn't unheard of as Jagex have used such twists when expanding lore on several occasions). Yes by all means the simpler reading exists and is perfectly valid but it is not 'more strongly supported' it has just as many grey areas and until such a time as some of these grey areas are filled in in such a way that makes 1 theory impossible they both rely on the same evidence just interpreted differently. - 24 March 2014 - Fate of the Gods
