7-Jan-2014 - Player-Owned Ports - The Next Journey
People who can't understanding the logic of numbers even when presented to them at a really basic level really annoy me. Was trying to explain to a clannie why merchants + lower success > no merch + higher success and they just refused to see it. Even when I broke it down to a simple level and said for example take a 125 terracotta mission, say you got 80% success rates 125*0.8 =100 So on average you'd expected 100 terracotta per voyage. Say using merchant dropped you all the way to 70% {125*1.33)*0.7 = 116.25 So on average you'd expect 116.25 terracotta per voyage. They still tried to argue I was wrong and it was like -.- the numbers speak for themselves you can't manipulate or fake them. I've just literally shown you at the most basic level how the numbers work out.

Does my old method of killing steel dragons still work?
Metals are weak to water magic in eoc so its better now than pre-eoc. Though you won't be using any chaos runes to do it and will only use death or blood if u use ancients.

Cleaning my Fan.
There are instructions provided here in chapter 4: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03600883.pdf But it seems your laptop is not built in a very friendly way to dismantle for fan access. You have to take out the harddrive, optical drive, wlan card and keyboard before you can even consider removing the top case to even get a glimpse of the fan. You then actually have to remove what they call the 'system board' to get access to the fan assembly.

Shark fist 1 through 4
It would seem your searching skills have failed you today; I just put 'shark' into the item database search field and viola, all 8 shark fists: http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/13055-offhand-shark-fist-1 http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/13056-offhand-shark-fist-2 http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/13057-offhand-shark-fist-3 http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/13058-offhand-shark-fist-4 http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/12703-shark-fist-1 http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/12702-shark-fist-2 http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/12701-shark-fist-3 http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/12700-shark-fist-4

Evolution of PVP combat!
I think trying to do to much to soon for minigames is liable to be a disaster. I think they need to address the rewards first in order to draw people back into playing them, then use the increased traffic to really get a feel of what is or is not working within the game itself. Or they need to focus on one game at a time and not just try and do them all at once.

Can you get port scores for distance in the Shield? If the max distance is higher than the required distance for the shield region unlock there is no reason it wouldn't give port score.

I think its naive to suggest 120 capes and 120 skills aren't linked. They are quite clearly linked by the fact they are going to be '120' capes at the xp needed for 120 - an xp value that is utterly arbitrary in the boundaryless space between 99 and 200m xp. Its setting up that arbitrary value as something more than just a number. Its giving the milestone of 120 significance and importance and turning it into a boundary point. It is a very obvious potential stepping stone to 120 level actually existing.

^Has that actually been confirmed that FOTG was called 'Purple Rose' for dev name. I thought it was one of those 'facts' that people had just assumed because its a Zaros quest and zaros = purple plus the Zaros concept art said it.

Future Update Discussions
I havent seen anything to say the Seren concepts were drawn up for FOTG, in fact everything simply seems to indicate they were drawn up in the WGS aftermath the same time as all the gods were (re)concepted graphically. Though as a theory I wouldn't say its necessarily all that crazy - after all what we know of FOTG is playing a deciding hand in restoring Zaros to a body of some sort. The mechanics of such a task could easily tie in to how Seren is to be restored. The link with Zaros seems almost inevitable though, his disembodied form has pretty much identical face to what Seren has got. Plus there are other linking factors. Zaros was always a god, Osbourne mentioned that Seren was always a god. Zaros is linked to shadows and silence and secrecy and might and Seren seems to be linked to all the polar opposites - light, sound and peace. Both have survived 'dying' (or at least we are led to believe Seren can be reformed) Both are Tier 2 gods.

High Tier farming Question
^Adv Logs shows Roving Elves and Regicide completed. So elf is perfectly accessible, the fruit tree patch people tend to miss is the herblore habitat cause its new and not in a lot of the older farm run type guides.

04-Feb-2014 Treasure Hunter & Demon Drop Table Improvements
Part of what keeps Virtus high is also the price of Seismics really. If Seismics were to drop to a reasonable level for t90 gear (eg ballpark of drygore/asc/virtus) it'd deffo make virtus come down a lot too. Whole supply and demand thing, people can't afford the top tier so it creates extra demand for the next tier down. The abyssal release really only impacted t70 and chaotic staff that much and staff is only because you can ditch the degrade without really losing much in the way of dps due to being only a half tier lower and being dw instead of 2h.

High Tier farming Question
Yeah the main thing you can do by the sounds of it is use the 6th fruit tree patch in the herblore habitat.

I definitely like the titles that sound good, but exclusivity does play in a little bit for me. Like I quite like being Super Super, but I'm not so hawt on Super Supervillian My usual title though is Archmage; sounds cool and relatively exclusive since it requires 2 99s and you have to trek out to the wizards guild to get it so most people forget it exists by the time they can use it.

Elder scrolls mmorpg
I don't see whats so wrong with freemium done right. I mean Runescape has been running freemium since the day members launched and that's a nice model. The only defining feature of freemium is that the basic offering is provided free of charge and then there's some for of extra you can pay for - be it in-game purchases/cash shop or a subscription to a higher membership tier. The free + subscription tier style freemium is kinda the basic form most of the big hitters in mmorpg (that aren't entirely free) run these days.

24 February 2014 - Revolution
Because theres no need to alter it. There is not more than 9 basic abilities to be used on any 1 bar so there's no need to increase it and having some spaces not included is important for ablities like chain, ricochet, freedom etc that are basics you may want to use but dont want firing off automatically. it ignores anything that isn't a basic so there's no need to shrink it - you can just stick prayers, food, thres and ults in there too and itll ignore em.

Imo gameplay... I'd agree with that. If I got upset about the prestige of something everytime they update or tweaked things I'd be a miserable whiner by this point - so many of my achievements in-game predate so many big changes they are losing prestige all the time. But I don't care if my rank crashes or if what I finished a while ago becomes much faster/easier as long as the game is growing and improving. I don't want things to say the tedious slow pita way I may have done them just because I did it that way and everyone else should suffer. Did it ruffle my feathers a bit cook-x came out like a matter of days after I got 99? Sure, just because it was like sods laws, but it didn't mean it was a bad update or I didn't like it. Also for me things becoming faster or easier is not a bad thing - yes there needs to be a balance to things, but frankly game attention span is shrinking and the amount of things to do to 'finish' the game is expanding some things (mostly older things) have to be sped up and made a bit easier just to keep the overall time to 'finish' in the same ballpark instead of perpetually growing longer and longer making it impossible for anyone to catch up.

Future Update Discussions
^Even outside some of them big payout xp things they've done many things that devalue skills and the work put in to them. I got my cooking 99 way back when it was one of the rarest because you had to use each and every fish individually on the fire/range to cook it, then along comes cook-x (and skillcapes) and now cooking is one of the common as muck easiest to get 99s. The same can be applied to almost any of the make-x interface arrivals, not to mention more afkable methods (ivy, bonfires, concentrated ores etc)

Slayer Points
^ Plus the Taverly slayer master does not give any points and using them resets your task streak to 0 So any task swaps you may do will ruin your chance for points.

Pokemon Thread
Its strange how so many players are very much 'my team' orientated especially in XY where its super easy to train pokemon up quite quickly when it makes more sense to swap out the entire team for each event and if you are playing "properly" you ought not be able to make a pokemon league team til you tried it once or twice and got to know the typings. I've actually sat starting to work out my final team this afternoon looking at the typings I know ideally I want fire, ground, ice, dragon, electric, water and rock in the mix. With fight, steel, fairy, psychic, grass and steel coming in a close 2nd for good options whilst Normal, Poison and Bug seem to be bad to include. Charizard and Golurk are high on my probable list atm. Meowstic and Florges also seem like good contenders at this point.

Miscellenia Help - Grimy's Spreadsheets
Yup they are still perfectly accurate - its got a good solid data set behind it to calc ratios and pulls prices live from the ge so short of an update substantially changing what an option gives out it can't be inaccurate.

Elder scrolls mmorpg
I think Elder Scrolls biggest failing by far is going for the outright subscription format, especially with such a high price and an upfront buying the game cost. The market is dominated by freemium now for a reason - people can find other games for free easily instead of paying for yours when they have no idea what'll be like. Not to mention all told it is kinda a mediocre standard MMORPG with an elder scrolls 'skin' to it - noting in it feels particularly worth the cost in terms of gameplay its just the same as a whole heap of other free games offer. If it went freemium it'd probably do quite well a flourish, but that price for a meh generic mmorpg that just looks a bit like skyrim etc. is not worth it in my book.

24 February 2014 - Revolution
But is not choosing to use it over another ability and trying to keep it up by killing as fast as possible not strategy and tactics? Why just because it was good does the choice to use it become something other than tactics? I mean was it not tactics/strategy to use dds spec back in the day just because everyone did it and it was easy?

24 February 2014 - Revolution
I don't see why it got nerfed so bad. It was kinda useful, but it wasn't like it broke the game - it was hard to keep it running for long periods on anything but weak mobs and the cooldown was already quite high. Only bit that really makes sense is the PvP reduction. Arguably it made bomb tanking at Vorago a joke. 20 seconds of sucking up blues, np. Also, I've been running on full manual because I'm just used to it. Apparently something in this update broke the global cooldown so it's now only 2 ticks instead of 3 if you time your queuing correctly. True but they turned it off for 'appropriate' attacks at those bosses now, so that doesn't really justify nerfing it for the other things it wasn't broken for.
