  1. Lol no. Fate of the Gods will be the week of the 17th or the week of the 24th: We know for a fact One of a Kind is next week (10th) We also know Mah Mems is launching the week before Fate of the Gods. Since Mah Mems did not launch in feb FOTG can't be this week. Since Mah Mems did not launch this week AND we know OOAK is next week FOTG cannot be next week. If Mah Mems comes next week alongside OOAK then FOTG will be week of the 17th. If not Mah Mems will have to be week of the 17th for FOTG to be week of the 24th
  2. I'm interested to see how dual wield plays out in dg. I know a fair few metagamer-types have said it was only worse due to extra bind usage (eg you cant take 2 combat classes) but the abilities being better dps should make it better. But then others insist DW in dg isn't better.
  3. So by that logic you don't understand the concept of an example... But yeah, it makes total sense the way distance is given, particularly as it pertains to failure. The only thing that doesn't make sense and should go away is that you only get half distance for previous region missions. Even the discovery thing sort of makes sense: By travelling to a place repeatedly you build up connections and contacts and begin to learn about a new place you haven't been too before until such a time as you have enough information to think yeah I'll go there myself. To further to school example: One week a kid might mention that their cousin had a cool birthday party. A week later you might be chatting to your friend who knows that kid and they'll mention it was a laser tag place that just opened. A week later you might chat to someone else who'll be like yeah I know that place it's on arcade street. Tada you'll suddenly have a new place to go to via knowledge accumulated in your repeated journeys. It's a bit of a stretched example given how googling would factor in for modern people, but the logic still exists that by repeatedly being exposed to the same groups of people you discover more about things they know of that you do not - in the case of ports this is island groups further away from the western lands of Gielinor.
  4. That'd be a bit stupid, distance is how far your ships have travelled, in what plane of logic would it make sense for you to be able to freeze distance but still have ships travel? Part of the challenge of doing ports well is the fact things are always moving forward regardless of what you are seeking so you have to decide whether to move with it or hang back. Besides that would make it too easy for scrolls and trade goods. Besides they have the option to focus on regions. As you said Sy, distance is how FAR your ships have travelled. If you stay at certain islands you aren't going further than before are you now? it would make perfect sense that you dont gain any distance. But yeah I see the other flaws now. Erm staying in one region does not stop you travelling further distance. Sure it means you don't travel further in 1 go than you previously have, but your ships are still travelling each and every time. Your port is in Port Sarim, the island are in the Eatsern Lands. You are sailing between the two repeatedly. You are sailing extra distance every time. If you live 1 mile from your school you travel a distance of 2 miles EVERY time you go to school. You don't only travel 2 miles for all the years you spend there.
  5. Yeah but what about the 10/4 buy limit on soups? Buy limits don't magically alter what is the most cost efficient method of doing things. Not to mention once you factor in the voyage lengths and random occurrence of trade good voyages etc you probably end up getting a lot less than 10 per 4 hours by self sourcing spices.
  6. That'd be a bit stupid, distance is how far your ships have travelled, in what plane of logic would it make sense for you to be able to freeze distance but still have ships travel? 7. You don't. Most of the lower Lumbridge tasks give out coins as a means to help a player get started and certain landmarks in task completion give out some coins, but the vast majority of tasks do not hand out free money.
  8. Indeed it is a pita, but hey atleast frozen floors aren't too bad to clear in c6 solo and it is very rare to not get an altar somewhere in a floor, or atleast the items to build one in the home room.
  9. Well no its not really 'just' a cosmetic change, it has implications and interactions with other things. For example, like this thread is address, why are we getting polls for 120 capes when far more people for far longer have been asking for redesigned 99 capes? If this system is about power to the players why are relatively unheard of ideas reaching the polls whilst ones players have begged and pleaded on for years are overlooked? Equally theres the whole barrel of issues relating to 120 capes not just being cosmetic. The fact they will exist at an xp value that current is meaningless in the void between 99 and 200m xp gives significance to that value. It acts as a point to argue the case for actually raising skill caps, something that has already been brought up by many as a 'if we have the capes why not the levels argument?' and in that field you have issues of maxed players vs unmaxed players and contentless levels and changing the parameters of what the end game is and whether it is far or right to prolong the game in such a way to appease those who already made it when it will put off new players as it makes 'complete' less obtainable. Yes the update itself in a bubble is just cosmetic capes, but alas things do not exist in a bubble and this topic relates to many other issues and concepts.
  10. ^ 1) Do more profitable trade goods. 2) Sell stuff 3) Buy more soups than you coulda made using the spices. Doing spices cause you need soups is as foolish as doing less profitable options in mtk cause you 'need' the resources. The option that gives the biggest gp output is always the best as you can then buy in more of the resource you need than would've been supplied otherwise. The only exception to this rule is for untradeables - eg if you want death lotus darts or superior armour/cape/ring for personal use then you have to do it yourself as it cannot be bought.
  11. I would hardmode with you... oh how I want that! Considering her drops hardmode makes me excited. Then again they could end up making her drop table 1.5x what it normally is and disappoint us. Or they could rename her current mode as an easy mode and make a normal mode that drops t85 weapons. You do realise Ambler was referring to the fact the current boss poll is for a new solo boss with a duo hard mode and not in the slightest anything to do with a duo hard mode for QBD right?
  12. ^Just because you did it that way and can throw some numbers up does not mean it is good The metagame numbers on income vs xp rates etc make farming one of the worst options to do for warbands. Mining is top dog, Smithing is close second. Construction, Herblore and Farming all languish far below in the land of not strictly worth doing in metagame terms. Metagame takes in far more things than simply this gives x xp and this gives y xp. In the time your trees are growing you can make far more money than the seeds cost and all told taking a little longer is not a bad thing for farming - its not like its hard work its a simple waiting game so the actual time spent training is tiny. Doing like 3 or 4 tree runs to equal warbands xp takes maybe 20 minutes, where as doing the warbands themselves usually eats up a solid 30-40mins. So you actually spend more time training it regardless of the fact in pure linear dates you can get lvls sooner. Compared to other warband skills where you can get more xp than you would get spending a whole day training the skill non-stop which is where it becomes better because it saves you a massive number of hours.
  13. When they discussed it in the podcast they said Zaros would return no matter what, player choice would just decide in what form and to an extent at what strength (but always within tier 2) which is pretty much a get out of jail free card when it comes to moving forward because at tier 2 godhood even in his weakest form no-one really poses a threat to Zaros aside from maybe Seren and the Elder Gods. And truth be told I expect it will be a lore factor that no god will try to mess with Tier 2+ - I mean the last time they annoyed tier 2 they got thrown out of the world in the blink of an eye. About the only tier 2 action I expect we could see will be Zaros and Seren interplay, Elder god smiting and perhaps Sara ascending and trying to meddle but ultimately failing (especially as Sara seems likely to annoy both Seren and Zaros)
  14. Indeed there is only one world gate but tier 4 gods upwards can make their own temporary portals. I think Guthix opted to use it as it was stable and offered a 'safer' way to bring races to this ideal world - I mean he had other means its mentioned he original found Gielinor using the sword as it could open portals. It's also possible in the 1st age Guthix was simply not that strong - he was fresh to godhood via Skagaroth's power and had the sword but presumably it took some time whilst he had the sword, staff, stone and horn to elevate him right up to the higher tiers.
  15. Tbf when we saw Guthix use it it was in the middle of a meadowy area if we assume it cannot be moved and was simply 'sealed' away it'd of had to have been buried and that sharp 'cliff' edge does suggest it may have been exposed by being 'unburied' plus they did mention way back when about repairing it so presumably that sparkly working form wont be what we initially find.
  16. Uninstall and reinstall (Drag to trash and redownload it via safari) see if tht fixes it.
  17. Inb4 no ring reset for dg makes swapping melee to dual wield a pita. (As zerker is specifically for 2h and you'd want tactician(?) for 1h) Did some quick number crunching and it seems as if battleaxe or warhammer are the best bets for melee dual wield dps in dg, though not a lot in it really talking lime 409 vs 404 on mh figures etc.
  18. I don't think afk and no loss really exist in the same method as such. Afk is by its nature you just letting it do its thing, like a cannon or w/e. No loss requires you to be there to use more cost efficient means (eg not cannon) and to pick up the necessary drops to break even. Kinda polar opposites right there.
  19. I wouldn't say losing resources is all that common, I have plenty of fails and very rarely lose resources mostly they just go to drydock. Besides even when you do it more often than not picks on the lower resources so it doesn't really impact. And even factoring that in merchants should come out better because the lose of resources is so rare you'd lose say 5 per voyage on average, where as the merchants are getting you like 10+ more per voyage on average.
  20. Well half the point of quick inventory is it keeps tracking the selected item (eg food) to be used. Quickheal is an option to streamline that process. So the 'keep them' 'improve them' and 'quick heal' options all essentially amount to the same thing; especially when you can do dropping and such from the action bar without using quick inventory. I'm personally fine with hotkeys and such and I never use quick inventory
  21. Can't barrage or chin with revolution :P Chain/Provoke/Freedom/Anticipate on bar, do an ult every time 100% adren is reached (should be every other minute or so). Gives a huge boost to xp/hour :P Also arguably if we simply upped momentum autoattack damage like legacy is going to be and renamed it legacy you could do your chin/barrage with legacy to the same end as momentum provides and get better xp/hr due to damage being higher and still avoid the derp-ness of having a 4th combat mode than essentially duplicates what momentum does.
  22. The stats are perfectly correct, I'm gonna guess you compared an off-hand to the stats in your pics for the mainhand - they are different, but the same is true in-game the off-hands have lower stats than the main hands, just like all DW items.
  23. ^This poll has annoyed me so much. We full well know a skilling boss will lose - the majority of players like bashing things - but that doesn't mean it shouldn't exist. It got brought up at runefest precisely because it is unique and different and has a good amount of support behind it and I'm sure the combat folks would try it out eventually. But no instead of something cool and unique we are gonna get more of the same because Jagex has to put everything through these dumb polls even in cases where the winner will be obvious and it will be 'same old same old' instead of innovative new things.
  24. Yeah Divination is a gathering skill like fishing, woodcutting and mining but at present it lacks an matching artisan skill (smithing, cooking, fletching etc) to make use of the resources which does render it a bit of a dead end until Inventor is released. There are a few helpful odds and sods you can weave energy into like auto-banking things, and divine skill plots for pretty good xp and money. There not really any secret to training it, just always stay at your best energy, always make the boon when you reach a new tier and use the third option on the crater as much as possible (energy+memories for double xp), whether you do this by buying in energy or just doing what you can with the energy your harvest is your call - though of course buying it in for 100% would be faster xp.
  25. The irony is though *most* players have not been asking for it a specific elite subset who care about the abyss beyond 99 have asked for it, most (like Kimberly pointed out) if asking for anything at all only asked for redesigned 99 capes that look better. Which raiess the question is power to the players really working? Sure stuff players ask about is getting polled but most coming from players seem to be small things in an already existing plan or something a small subset hiding in hlf asked for. But where then are the polls on the things we have all been asking for for ages? Where is the 99 cape redesign poll? Where is the minigame fix polls? Where is the skill rework polls? Where are the polls on player suggestions that have stood the test of time for years and years on the forums and have lots of detail behind them like Archeology, engineering, making runecrafting the primary magic crafting skill etc? They are all lost behind polls that small subsets with unique access to jagex or whiners want - I mean even in the darn podcast about combat changes they outright said a lot of people who voted for legacy combat will probably be satisfied with revolution and the other tweaks coming and that legacy will be balanced to be as close to but not greater than eoc thereby hammering the nail in the coffin of it being stupid to poll it before the other combat fixes have been released AND the idea that there won't simply be a better option rendering the other one dead. Heck they even went so far as to say it will basically be old-style momentum with auto attack damage scaled up much further, which renders the quest WHY does it even need to be a new thing at all? Revolution rendered momentum pointless anyway so can't that just be repurposed?
