The desire for a channel to focus around things that aren't like the stuff on other mainstream channels is admirable, but I don't see how the concept of 'the rest of TV is for white people' holds up. How does my skin colour make a difference whether TV programmes are my kind of thing or not? Surely black people are more or less equally interested in sports, documentaries, the news, and whatever is on the TV as everyone else. For the record, I've never seen BET, I don't think it's shown anywhere in the UK. I don't comprehend how you can approach the mission statement "TV Entertainment for black people" without making some racist assumptions or generalisations. What do they show? It's not about the rest of TV being for white people; but for the record, the rest of TV IS for white people. Everything is made with white people as the intended audience. BET serves the black community; bringing light to issues that are too far removed from white society to be of any interest to mainstream channels. I don't understand what the problem is; why do white people want 100% of TV to be for white people instead of 'just' 99%? [/hide] Please enlighten me how a TV programme can be made with white people as an intended audience, without making any racist assumptions or generalisations, because as far as I can see, that's logically impossible. This particular white person doesn't comprehend the concept of TV for white people, or TV for black people. It thinks that the 99% of TV is for everybody, regardless of skin colour, and any attempt at the 1% at being different from that is racially motivated. Also, does anyone have an example in particular of something so far removed from the so-called "white society" that we have no interest in hearing about it? Are you joking? You don't understand the concept of intended audiences? Then what's your problem with BET? It's logically impossible to you for it to be targeted at black people. I'm not joking. I understand how you can make programmes for people with different interests, or people who are of different ages (because they'll have different life experiences), or different social positions. People can be easily separated by the ability/desire to tackle certain mental challenges, or whether they like death metal or not, or whether they remember WW2. What I don't understand how you can ethically make programmes for people with different skin colours. It's impossible for BET to be targeted at black people while at the same time not making racial assumptions or generalisations. And since you asked, I think the concept of BET is fundamentally racist in its current form. That's my problem with it. Feel free to challenge my view. Well, it's not really aimed at race so much as culture. But in America, at least, race = culture. Being such a racially segregated country; obviously different cultures have developed for different races. Yes, you find whites in black culture and blacks in white culture but for the most part race is the defining factor. In other words, race is important because we make it important. What I'm really saying is that most of TV is aimed at white culture; and BET is for black culture. If you removed race from the equation we would still be having this discussion; mainstream culture vs 'underground' culture.

The community has always extrapolated on everything they say. Remember the "Hold on to your robin hood hats" fiasco? They could always revert to simply surprising players with their updates instead of a BTS - no wait, that didn't go over very well the last time they tried that... Well, if they were absolutely clear on what they were going to do - no, that's had its way of backfiring too... If they were subtle and leaked images instead - no no, that didn't work either. Dang... I dunno. Jagex can't win for losing. Maybe the community shouldn't analyze every little thing about an update until the day it's released? Give 'em a break... Hey genius they WANT discussion about the updates coming. Questioning what they've said isn't hating Jagex. Maybe you shouldn't use internet forums if you don't like hearing people discuss things. I'm a bit disappointed that my tongue-in-cheek comment had slipped past you. I'm well aware that the community debating the updates (what it is, what it'll be like, etc) is a good thing, however it's often taken to the extreme, and neither Jagex nor anyone else can truly stop that. Hence the remarks about the other past attempts in which Jagex tried to curb overhype. Now, let me make it clear in case you didn't quite get me the first time: Discussion - okaySpeculation - greatDebate - sure, why not?Overhype - for the love of God no. My point, which you seem to have missed, is that it doesn't matter if it's taken to the extreme or not. There's nobody in the discussion that has convinced themselves the update has already happened. Everybody knows it's speculation only.

[hide] I'm glad you're in favour of WET, but surely you admit you're in a minuscule minority. WET could be created tomorrow; it would just be a huge money sink. BET exists because it has an audience that wants things not shown on any other mainstream channel. What would be put on WET that you couldn't find on every single other channel currently in existence? WET could be created tomorrow, eh? Pray tell, what media company would volunteer to sponsor that PR nightmare? The one you offered enough money to. I answered your question now please answer mine. "enough money" would have to be twice the net worth of the media company to get them to do that. And what shows are there on BET that aren't suitable for another channel? [/hide] I'm not going to answer your question if you don't have the decency to answer mine. Possibility of a members free trial in the coming months
there is currently no trial for the full game. f2p dose not do a good job at really showing you the potential of p2p It is however a free trial or demo of the full game, limited in features the same way any demo or trial is. How many trials allow you to get the maximum level you can get in skills? Can you name a single one that doesn't have a level cap?

I can't comment on anything Al Sharpton says or else I'm a racist, but any liberal is allowed to say anything they want about Clarence Thomas, Allen West, or Herman Cain. Furthermore, if I say Obama is clean and articulate, I'm racist, but when Harry Reid says it, it's a complement. I can go on and on for each example, but if you haven't realized it yet, you may never understand it, and I'm seriously late for that clan meeting. Are you trolling? Nope. When George W. Bush pronounces nuclear wrong, he's an idiot. When Barrack Obama pronounces Navy corpsmen wrong, everyone ignores it. If he pronounces things wrong why would you want to call him articulate?

So that definitely means that's going to happen and it's not just an analogy for how hard it is? [/hide]Sounds to me like an analogy but it's not really clear. :S I've not seen any Jmod post or anything confirming either way yet. Sounds to me like an analogy too but it seems the only help one gets here is a re-quote of the source you're questioning.

I'm sick of randoms
gravedigger because they would need to give an other way to get those clothes. Also you guys seem to forget that most of f2p loves those random events :P Then make random events FTP only. That's just unreasonable. For one thing, what of members who want the costumes? Remove the maze, no one likes it. Streamline the grave digger and mime random, or remove them entirely and offer a new way for the clothes. Tis a better idea then F2P only randoms. Who cares about the costumes? Level 70 mains who don't even experience a different game in members because they're so low level. They can just go to FTP and get the costumes.

Virtual stealing, court convicts
