  1. Edating over games where you can't physically see the other person I find to be sketchy. Let's face it, how attractive a person is physically (no matter what the hell guys/girls say) is a huuuge part of a relationship with someone. People can be pretty attractive over the internet with their written language. Doesn't mean they're attractive to you physically (this also goes for those 40 or whatever year old internet predators, especially of the same gender (unless you roll that way, but you get the gist)). But hey, if it works out for ya, I have nothing wrong with it. Caution is key, though.
  2. That whole "herp derp," meme, "u mad bro" kinda stuff. It definitely does a lot to destroy any kind of respect I have for whoever said/did/posted it.

Going to be on a tour of this nuclear facility site (now decommissioned, mind you  ) with a load of other interns I don't know. I've already seen half that [cabbage] when I go on site walks with my supervisor. Should be boring. Gets me outta the office though, so I shouldn't be complaining.

I think we can all agree that beer may not be very bad for you, but it definitely isn't good for you. Pretty sure it's just wine, not beer, that can be good for you. Beer is just a can of calories. :P
  6. What? Which reminds me, when talking with a friend, look at the top of their head. Then try and continue the conversation normally. Haha! I've done this to my siblings and friends, and it's sooo freakin' funny. Either the top of their head, or make it even more obvious and look at the space above their head and carry on the conversation and act like you don't notice anything different. Classic.
  7. Btw, I wasn't asking cause I felt I had lied/kept a secret. Was....pondering. :P I do see what both of you (Ginger, Tripsis) mean, though.
  8. Watch the World - Box Car Racer
  9. Guess it's similar to the whole, "If a tree falls but no one is around to hear it, does it really make a sound" type thing. I guess what I meant was, can you call it a secret if you aren't really hiding it from anyone (as in no one is 'searching' for it).... Uhhh, like, could I be classified as in hiding if no one is actually looking for me? I dunno. Was dumb. Sorry. Just something that came to my mind.
  10. Looks cool. My only comment is that the pendulum swings farther to the left than it does to the right. Kinda irkin' me. :P
  11. Was think more along the lines of looking cross-eyed at them (i.e. making faces). :P But yah, makes sense.
  12. I had a teacher that did that in high school. :\ Well, if we're talking about symbolic of perhaps what the author is feeling/his lifestyle/experiences, that's very true. It could be subconscious. But that kind of symbolism that concerns an actual character's feelings (assuming the character does not represent a person in the author's real life) is a different case. imo
  13. Brilliant, haha
  14. Is something a secret if no one is trying to uncover it? :o
  15. Definitely interesting, and in instances is probably true. What surprised me most was the between the eyes = feeling of superiority.
  16. What I want to know is how much the author expected the reader to see in his/her writing. I think it'd be funny if you went back in time and talked with such an author who responded with, "Hell no, symbolism? I was just writing a fun story!"

I love riding my longboard, whether it's hot out or not. :) I've been practicing cross-stepping. It's pretty difficult to get the hang of it, but I'm making progress. Since I'm planning on learning a lot more dance moves, I'm going to start getting comfortable with riding switch (I ride goofy atm) and get better balance on my left foot so I can cross-step on both sides (and so I can do a bunch of moves that require being comfortable with both feet). I guess one way of doing this is balancing on my board with my left foot (with the right foot hanging off) so I get used to the feel. Cause I'll tell ya, riding switch feels so weird. Pushing with my right foot and putting pressure with my left is totally out of the ordinary.
  18. Looking someone in the right eye shows you think of them as an equal; looking between their eyes shows you think you are better than them (or not at their eyes, but not downcast); looking between eyes and lips shows romantic interest. Keeping your eyes downcast shows weakness or respect or humility, depending on the situation. Not everybody will notice. Few will, in fact. But it's a useful tool for building relationships. The details are important. That's a lot of analysis. I guess it could be subconscious, but I doubt how accurate that is. Obviously there's some sort of explanation that could be made for each facial feature, but honestly, whenever I decide to think about what I'm looking at on a persons face, I find myself just switching from facial feature to facial feature with no real reason. There could be studies, but at this point, I find it hard to believe there's a correlation between where people look and what they are feeling towards the person (except maybe the feelings associated with no eye contact at all [and maybe looking at the lips]). I could be totally wrong, though. Just seems like a bit too analytical.

A man who works in my building rides a Segway to work every day. He locks it up at the bike rack, and it just looks so out of place.

True, but it can't be good for you :P
  21. I'm pretty sure there's a difference between looking at their face and their eyes. When most people say it's polite/respectful to look someone in the eyes, I doubt they mean looking straight at someone's eyeballs. It's more of a general, keep your head oriented towards their head. I said this in my last post, but we tend to not focus our eyes on specific facial features; rather, our eyes take in the face as a whole. It's only until you realize you're looking at their face that you go and pick out a specific feature to look at.

Good luck with your liver failure. I know, right? I mean, "a healthy 1-3 beers"? o.O
  23. People who read but don't follow the rythm the sentence should have. Mainly ignoring random commas and periods and screwing up dependent and independent clauses. Personally, when I read, I make sure the sentence sounds understandable, but some people just read and end a sentence on a high note and read the next clause likes it's the end of the sentence, that kind of stuff.
  24. Well duh! :P I doubt the photographer's intent was otherwise. I think she does a dang good job of attracting me. And a big yes to Rachel McAdams.
