Eesh, so she really hasn't fulfilled her motherly position well at all, it sounds. I don't really think I can give any advice because I haven't experienced something like that. Just be supportive as much as she'll allow you, but back off if she starts attacking you. I think only time and space will help. Hopefully you can come back in a few years (assuming you move away from home eventually) and she'll have understood that you care about what she does and that you were angry with how she was living her life. If you believe in God, I suggest praying about it. It can be a comforting practice, even if you don't see any immediate results (it's likely you won't, cause God doesn't work that way).

So, I stumbled upon a ton of CDs that were in stacks in my closet, and many of them are unlabeled, so I've decided to go through all of them and find out what is on them. Also, some of them are labeled and I'm ripping them onto my computer. Hopefully this will be a bit of fun. :)

I got the VGA cord in the mail today. Tested it out, and the quality was pretty poor. Also, for some reason the tv wouldn't display the colors/brightness/contrast correctly (even after I tried messing around with them from the tv menu). And none of the resolutions given as options from my laptop would fit the tv screen perfectly. Well, at least I have a VGA cord lying around to use. :P Thanks guys for the help.

That awesome to hear, dude. I suggest using Ethernet if it's available. Much faster, at least for me. I think your school should give out free Ethernet cords for you to use.

It took me a very long time to be able to sleep without a shirt on, too. I used to have to sleep with at least shorts and a shirt on. Oh, also, I dunno if I've already said this, but it is impossible for me to sleep with socks on.

Seeing as I've avoided the marijuana thread, that should show that I don't know a whole lot about it to argue about it. I was mainly responding to his general comment (which seemed to include all drugs/alcohol). Would it be better if I said: And then, once again, we get on the subject of solidarity, and the fact that it's extremely hard if not impossible to find a realistic situation in which someone's illegal drug abuse is not affecting anyone else.1 1Except perhaps marijuana. I'm speaking truthfully that I haven't looked into the marijuana case, so I don't feel comfortable talking about it. :oops:

Well, since I've started to own my own things now, being an adult going to college, I hate it when people use my stuff. If they ask, I guess it makes it a little better, but I would rather not let them use it at all. And not so much with big stuff, but small stuff. For example, a hand towel. I'm kinda big on hygiene, so I don't like it when other people use my towel. And my roommate doesn't do laundry a whole lot, and he often throws his hand towel into his dirty clothes, leaving mine the only one in the room. Personally, I bought two, so that I could wash one and still have one to use, but he uses the other of his two to cover something, and so when his becomes 'dirty', he doesn't have one to use, and so he uses mine. And for some reason that just irks me.

Eh, I guess I just know that they're trying to be hip because that's the thing to do now. :\ I wouldn't call myself insecure, because I'm fine with the way I dress. It's just annoying to see some friends trying to be as hip as they can to get in with another group of hipsters.

Don't get me wrong, I like the beanie look (though, not the way the above dude is sporting it). But a scarf in the summer? I guess instead of beanie, a Fedora would've been a better piece of clothing. I know a ton of 'hipsters' who are relatively nice. I just don't like them because they're trying to fulfill this general archetype. It isn't their style and they're forcing it. Unfortunately, most of the hipsters I know force it, so I make fun of them. Sorry if I sounded like an ass.

Hah, no way. I don't feel a need to get over that fear. Whatever people think, a zombie apocalypse won't happen, and I'm not getting myself in any sort of situation in which I'd have to deal with that stuff. I'm alright when I'm with a ton of friends, though; as long as we're all yelling, "Oh, that guy is soooo [bleep]ed!!!" and stuff the whole movie. :P
