  1. I started nurturing and farming good dungeoneers when I hit 100 so that may help if you have a long term goal.
  2. Ain't what respect should be given for
  3. @ Silly scan idea - Shared computers; I don't care that they bot but I'm not stupid enough to be scared of using the same computer. - Botters who only bot certain accounts - of course some people view that any form of botting should mean all your accounts should be banned. Some people like to try botting on a pure for example to see what they're like and to make a specific type of account. I really don't care about botting that isn't goldfarming. I've created "dg pures" before for the sake of lower level monster spawns (back when gds were slow) and maxed Tui over a long period of time. I would be happier if I had spent less time on leveling my accounts and more on furthering life goals or the enjoyable aspects of the game. Dungeoneering for example really requires a maxed account for doing the best speeds and getting the most out of the game. Maybe had I had more time I would've written better guides and covered more things :P So I see the hate on botting from a "I love this game as a competitive grindfest" viewpoint and why people would hate goldfarming bots but hating all botters seems rather close-minded. "Afking is bad until jagex releases ivy, idiot" Sorry :/
  4. If you use momentum use fastest/fast weapons of the highest tier. If you use abilities then 2 rapiers is basically equal to a maul.
  5. As a secondary weapon, I think so, due to first hit loss of knives. If you are primarily going with magic/range, go with DW. Edit: Although I think you should generally go with knives anyway for laws bind. But incendiary shot is an excellent ability against bosses which I think is comparable to needle strike + rapid fire, and of course is super op for gulega. That combo only really applies to monsters where incen will hit 5000 anyway. (12500+ hp monsters), and rapid fire is op regardless. Of course, I'd prefer if someone actually calculated it properly, which I haven't for this exact scenario.
  6. A blood neck is your best 4th bind, if you find one of those. 2 armour pieces is also decent. If you want to try out offensive, replace your hood or plate and your bow with the 2 knives or celestial wand/orb, although ranged should be ever so slightly better. Melee should never dual wield unless using momentum. If you opt with knives, dw magic, or just a cele staff you can go with laws over arrows ammo bind which is ideal if you <------------------------------------> good at dungeon. So try out a cele staff over your bow, see if you can stand it, then if you can use knives and break your arrows for laws. Once you find a bn before 120 you'll be stuck with 2h ccs pl8 bn until you find arrows again, if you don't like magic. Or just stick with what you have til you find a bn. 2h <---> better than Dw Dw magic <-> better than staff Shortbow <--> better than dw knives (but laws more than make up for it)

  8. Hex nerf. Sag you shouldn't do that iirc. So adren is the same. Melee thres are easier to use. Whirlwind is more likely to hit more targets. Cleave is not great for melee but (apparently) the basics are better overall. Pre-hex nerf I was using hex as basically my sole weapon for a few weeks after dg monster's def was lowered which made hex the highest dps almost always, even with difficulties in using. But I don't think it's really worth using ranged much anymore. Dismember's "damage %" varies as it depends on whether you use things like overloads, pray, etc. for the other abilities, since none of those affect dismember. But 200% sounds about right.
  9. Sometimes I just like to take my time. If you're looking from an efficiency standpoint (ignoring the walking), I executed that floor pretty badly, at least compared to how well I am expected to. Haven't dged much recently. Recorded with fraps. You can rent tor-que at some electronic stores.
  10. Challenge accepted. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjnRCEQoPn0 My submission. I'm not sure what my main mission is, though.
  11. Yes, at least it did a couple months ago when I actually played. This looks like it hurts:

  13. Ingame description of unload is different. "Unload both your weapons at your target's current location for 6 seconds. Every 2 seconds, all targets standing at that location will take damage up to 110% of weapon damage. Each subsequent hit gains an additional 10% damage. Combo attack." So rip against gulega, I guess.
  14. I calculated incendiary shot as over 6x the dps as berserk before the dual-wield update. Unload if you're using dual wield from the description sounds even better. "Unload both your weapons at your target's current location for 6 seconds. Every 2 seconds, all targets standing at that location will take damage equal to 35% of maximum life points. Combo attack." Iirc attacks do exactly 1/4 damage against gulega. If unload works as described it is probably worth using on a lot of bosses. Assuming it maxes at 5000 (which is what incendiary shot does against gulega if accurate) would mean 15000 damage (if it hits). That's really high. Btw veng doesn't work on gulega anymore. Neither does that reflect half damage or w/e defensive ability.
  15. Food/amount of food you have is entirely worthless. If you die twice, but finish a floor in 10mins it's worth not fishing or even picking up food for that matter. Gatestones really are key. Pun intended. Survival isn't hard but the amount of time it takes to loot food, especially in gds where you can usually be using an ability every 3 ticks and thus losslessly loot at least a couple over the floor means you should really try and loot just a tiny bit. Don't cook food (fishing is great fish xp/hr if you care though) in general though. Looting food is partially theme and size dependent though. I find it easy to loot some food losslessly or as necessary but it's not something I have to focus on. Ideally you should keep your mind focused on what action in the floor you need to do next. I.e. ok, once this path ends I need to gt and run e n to try and finish that path. if my current path doesn't de I need to break my gate for here and gt. and will have to ht to run original gate at some point. Do you unlock doors with gatestones? I've tried jamming them into keyholes to no avail. Can you help? Blazer is bad, not because the ring itself is bad but because magic's abilities in dungeon hit the same as they do in overworld, which is about half of what they should hit inside dungeoneering. 40% "spell/weapon damage" is what the abilities are based off. Regular "fast" weapons are 80%. Meleeing meleers is always better at 99 all than maging meleers. Ranging meleers is generally better than maging meleers too. This is wrong. Was updated with dual wield update. Magic should be around the same dps as melee/ranged now.
  16. Shitty thing about dual wield magic though is that reselecting your main hand autocast is more annoying now as it has an extra interrupt-able menu, as you have to reselect that each time you die. The off-hand autoselect does not get deselected upon death though :) Yeah melee 2h is better as you said. At 120 though you do have a lot of room with your binds. Tribridding doesn't seem useful as switching styles in gds usually wastes dps and 2 styles is plenty. I see no reason to have 3 styles for bosses either. If I had to choose a style to drop I'd drop magic first since it's accuracy has me concerned - from using it since eoc it doesn't seem to have as good accuracy on mages compared to melee on meleers or ranged on rangers. But it's possible that's just me being paranoid. The only bad thing about dual wield range is the first attack will always average much lower damage. Laws make up for this of course, but for magic the extra bind and first hit bonus may be reason to consider staff over dual wield. Hopefully unload works as good as or better than incendiary shot for gulega. Though it does mean fragmentation shot and slaughter are less effective as unload requires target not to move from square X. Although you can possibly move the target as long as part of them is in that square. Hood is better than plate if you hybrid a lot and don't mind less defense. Body (in whatever style you predominantly use, probably melee) is better otherwise.
  17. Why would 2 primal baxes be better than a 2h? Don't most abilities only use the wep damage from the mainhand, which is lower than 2hs. Even if decimate and frenzy etc are really op it'd still mean less thresholds and most of the basics a fair amount worse. Although dual wielding is nice for momentum dg, of course. Knives looked weaker than bows but I didn't go into it at all. Dual wielding magic looks good though. They (finally) fixed the magic-dg abilities, now they do fair amounts. I quickly grabbed these hits: 1785 max with wrack ccs fsurge 1728 max with wrack fsurge grave wand + spiritbloom orb dual wield (So probably the same had I had a celestial wand or w/e) 1995 f surge ccs (not a max - should be around 2163 hopefully now) That newish ability concentrated blast looks possibly like a reason to use dual wield over ccs. Too bad about the hex nerf. Any reason to use dual wielding knives?
  18. ???????????? also guthix is really uglyk

    Lodestones

I like to make up numbers or random plausible answers when clan mates ask stupid questions that they could've just googled. I hope that if everyone does this the world will be a better place.
  20. I don't mean to be mean but you are doing something horribly horribly wrong if you take that long to do a c1. Go to a themed world and join a c1s rush group sometime - each floor probably averages 90 seconds. Only clear monsters in gds and the difficulty should be set to 5:1 (i.e. dungeon is designed for 1 person).
  21. Barely matters. Sag short is very likely a bit better but I don't know your stats. Primal maul will be slightly better once you get 99 str though. You should ideally have both, though. Certain bosses are better to melee than range and switching attack styles in certain gds is sometimes worth it.
  22. That's what they all say but what's the point? The truth will come out sooner or later. I'd rather give people the benefit of the doubt since "Jagex" DOES make a lot of mistakes and most people who bot don't go make pointless threads about it if they get banned. Of course if you were talking to someone ingame and asked what happened to their account they would probably swear they were innocent no matter what, but seriously? Automatically taking the side of an automated process? Lol.
  23. You should read the rswiki puzzles guide and maybe the xp-waste puzzle guide. Even if your gatestone placements are awful as long as you keep moving you should never go above 15 minutes. Get the hang of other things more before you worry too much about optimizing your gates.
  24. I did a floor for you. Slowest theme with one of the worst bosses. I should've left my gate outside boss / picked up food for boss. I'm sorry I am not very good.
  25. It means all rooms opened. Only necessary monsters killed. I assure you it IS in fact possible to consistently average such times.
