  1. Hello, nice to meet you Schyler. ~ T.U. ("Couldn't think of anything else to say, really' =) Tui P.S. I T.U. enjoy T.U. dungeoneer =)
  2. Tui

    Binds @ 120.

your body should be whatever your primary attack style is. most people prefer melee. all 3 styles are about the same dps. due to the combat triangle, it makes sense to make your secondary combat style cover your primary - eg. melee+range, range+mage, or mage+melee, in order of primary and secondary style. you switch styles when fighting something over 150cmb that you are weak against. then you stay in your secondary style until that happens again or at the end of the gd optionally. there is research done on monster frequency and indeed 2h > maul > spear. it might be worth it to use maul in frozens. hood is far superior to platelegs. binds/stat reduction deterrent, as well as it's effect, you can take it off when you need monsters walking towards you in gds, and survival is really a non-issue. obviously anticipation should still be used after dehood/when you spot a mage.
  3. There are certainly a lot less mages in f2p dg as you say. I wouldn't really say less rangers though in abd, as zombies and skeletons are extremely common and usually ranger form. The themes were originally intended with these weaknesses: Ice - Crush Abd - Slash Furn - Stab Occ - Range Warp - Mage Though their intentions weren't necessarily that accurate. And eoc changed it a lot. Furn is definitely very effective to mage. So yes, you're right, I wasn't considering f2p/p2p when you said that.
  4. Won't level 49 doors max like, half as much? Not something I've ever checked, just assumed. But that would mean as you get high levels you'd hardly ever fail and get hit less and less % of your max hp.
  5. I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that "5-6 + years ago" does not mean 9 years ago either. Ignoring the given information and calling someone out on that assumption that they weren't around in a different time frame is tad unreasonable, though. There's nothing wrong with giving that information, but acting as if you are somehow superior based on when you joined the game or the forums is unjustified arrogance. He didn't necessarily mean it that way, but the implications are there. I was parodying this rather than straight up saying so. I have a slight bias in that personally I'm on my 3rd tif account and I think I joined originally sometime in 2005. I don't believe most people register until they actually want to post something.
  6. It's because your join date is 2009. Laws were 1k each for ages back in classic/early rs2 before law altars were released on 24 August 2004 Your join date is 29th August 2004, clearly you can't have been around before 24th August 2004.
  7. That sounds like a fun account. Magic is gonna be by far the best as you level up your combat stats, so consider getting level 64 magic for group gatestone teleport if you are doing mediums or larges. Otherwise just stick to smalls and primarily use your other combat stats if you want to have them even as you level up, as magic is going to be ideal the closer you get to 99s. I haven't rechecked this since dual wield update, but fire runes were an excellent bind before that, but now you may be able to get a level 40 accuracy magic weapon that provides runes, which before was impossible being f2p, as a spinebeam staff was only obtainable in p2p, and the alternative being a tangle gum staff (infinite runes but level 1 accuracy) or an air staff (30) + fire runes or catalytic (40) + blastbox (airs). Abilities don't use up runes. Or did they fix catalytic staff to provide runes? Sounds like they did. You should probably stick to 2 combat styles at once. You can have a plate of whichever style in each loadout and if you get a boss that is really difficult to kill with a style (like maging cursebearer) you can pretty easily swap at home. Starting with higher lp is useful. Equipping armour right before boss and suddenly doubling your max hp isn't.
  8. In terms of efficiency it is never efficient to have a skiller on the team. WIthout combat skills you pretty much just leech. If some nearby rooms are cleared or they tell you ggs is safe you can farm / make ragers / make armour / make food, in order of semi-importance (but it really doesn't matter much). Obviously you farm lyco/winter's grip to make potions for 100+ rooms. You can also make melee potions and rejuvs. An altar is also made when you can. You can't solo at all. I recommend just using the free leeching friend's chat which can be found on RSoF. You need 150 combat for that fc. I think you have some alternatives like Relaxed Dung and another similar one I don't remember. http://services.rune...rums.ws?148,149 Decent means can make normal potions/farm magebane (mid 60s herb/farm?), can make altar (75 con), can make ~gorg+ armour (80 mine, ~86+ smith) and at least 80+ fishing/cooking.
  9. I can't wait for that. Thanks a lot.
  10. I was not aware of this if this is true. I don't read many updates. This without context of who it is or what they actually mean is pointless. I can claim to know everything about dungeoneering but I don't. There are a set number of each room's layout for each theme. Plans to increase them is bs though.
  11. The sections that will help someone just beyond a beginner are being written currently. This thread was intended for just the absolute beginner's section feedback, which I have received. That said, I will be publishing the more complete version as soon as it's ready. Sit tight, it won't take too long. If you are really interested in reading the beginning then go on over to this page to view it: http://dungeoneering.freeforums.org/post3.html I am editing this page as it is written and when it is complete I will (probably) host it on some other sites. This makes edits easy for me and allows me to use bbcode how I want to.
  12. I don't remember, sorry. It's possible I saved that information somewhere but I am travelling and won't be home for 2 months so if it's on my desktop but not laptop like I expect then I can't help.
  13. You can see the layouts with the orb of oculus in that railroad area during another slice of ham. I don't have access to the beta and I would love it if someone checked it out to see if you can see more than in rs2 and post pictures. I think it would prove interesting, thanks!
  14. Thanks. Yes, a lot of the early numbers he provided dgs for example were just completely wrong upon later inspection :(
  15. 5:5s are much more efficient than solos so i would suspect the % is much lower i think his number was up to f37 at 120 i want to look into this further since i am trying to make my guide efficient, will get back to this topic if its not too late!
  16. Yes, I will be including a section on acronyms but currently am concerned about completely new dungeoneers. Sinkhan was kind enough to post this to reddit which has added a few people interested linked here. Edit: It has been sent out to those interested, although I am happy to send it out to more people at later dates as more of it is complete for feedback or to help.
  17. I am looking for some people who have never or almost never dungeoneered at all, ideally knowing nothing about the skill. Why? I am writing a guide and surely will overlook answers to certain things. Plan is to send you a complete beginners guide on what to do and see what questions you have after reading & trying it. You get an excellent introduction to the skill and I will help you out with some dungeoneering. Please pm me on these forums. I don't play much RS so you are unlikely to see me ingame otherwise. Note: F2p is fine too.
  18. Ults are largely filler because I think ring on bar is useless, though ults are sometimes useful during boss. I'm gonna note that if you don't use melee primarily to change the mage/range bars slightly potentially (like snapshot). I haven't rechecked incend in a long time so I have noted to do that in my mind. I'm not too concerned about filler abilities right now as my guide is not about abilities, just mentions them. Blitzer is useless afaik but I haven't rechecked it recently. Certainly does not allow you to Wrack Sonic Wave Wrack Chain Wrack DB any faster, so it's very unlikely stacking could possibly be worth it with the mage fix. & No it does not increase your % of weapon speed damage, which would make it 80% instead of 66% iirc.
  19. @ quy's list: dismember and sever switch because dismember takes longer and does higher damage. remove smash, add slaughter after cleave. remove snap shot unless using ranged primarily. you don't want to accidentally use it, its worse than alternatives not keeping teleports on the bar is stupid here i'll just paste stuff Mage bar - Wrack Sonic Wave or Concentrated blast - increases your next attack's critical hit and will last the entirety of any combo attack, such as Asphyxiate. Chain - hits up to 2 additional enemies that are within 4 squares of the target. Dragon Breath - must be adjacent to target. AoE attack. Asphyxiate - 6 second combo attack Metamorphosis - 20 seconds of 150% damage Fire surge Freedom [D] Anticipation [D] Create Gatestone Gatestone teleport Group gatestone teleport Combust - Does not stack with Blazer ring class. Avoid usage. Impact - Use if no other ability available. Hits 100% weapon damage. Melee bar - Slice [A] Dismember Sever [A] Cleave - AoE (Area of effect) attack. Will hit target and enemies standing beside (not every square / adjacent) or underneath the target Whirlwind [A] - AoE attack. Assault - 6 second combo attack Slaughter [A] - force the target to move either by stepping under them or by moving away from them if a meleer. Freedom [D] - frees you from being bound Anticipation [D] - prevents any binds in the next 10 secs Create Gatestone Gatestone teleport Group gatestone teleport Additional abilities - Smash [A] - to be used if no immediate ability available Punish - weaker alternative Berserk - no useful thresholds available; some teammates/bosses render you unable to force your target to move for slaughter Fury - Bullwark before armour is removed Kick - All stun-immune bosses Quake - no useful thresholds available, multiple targets Range bar - Piercing shot Dazing shot or Needle strike - increases your next attack's critical hit and will last the entirety of any combo attack, such as Rapid fire. Ricochet - hits up to 2 additional enemies that are within 4 squares of the target. Fragmentation shot - 3 splats, force target to move by standing under. Bombardment - AoE adjacent to target. Rapid fire - 6 second combo attack Incendiary shot or Unload - Can be useful on bosses. Incendiary shot is especially useful against Gulega. I need to take pics for the new abilities but w/e. Yes I am working on a guide.
  20. This is dumb in a lot of ways (ego, misbelief of skill, etc.) but would be fun and a 10m gamble really doesn't mean much. I'd like to join but unfortunately I'll be out of the country with work. Well, that and I'd need to find a duo partner :P Good luck with the event, I'll perhaps join one in the future if you do it again. However, I would recommend that you don't do F60 for the final, considering it's the most luck based with such a bad boss. I know it SOUNDS cool, but it's really lame, as it makes the overall floor time subject to more randomness. Think of it this way; if you each get kalger once in all likelihood it means only 2 floors to balance out the layout/room aspect. I would highly recommend F1 or something.
  21. It also hardly works. I've tried having a bunch of minions in it and it is pretty random and dumb (like 5 players in it with same floor, NOPE gonna make a 2:3 and just leave the other 2 behind!). I've also had 3 players in it all with same floor open and it didn't make a party from waiting 15 minutes in it.
  22. guide mode should always be enabled in hunts
