Yeah I'd have to agree with you on this one. It isn't simply just "smart use of the environment", or whatever they said about the pre-eoc solo method.

I don't think so. itam got to 2301 total before quitting, and I don't know of any DIY player who has a higher total. I don't blame him. Buyables would just be too much for me.
