Well, I think Slayer is technically a combat skill too c: I love economics; specifically the public policy side of things - macro, cost benefit analysis, market failure and so on. I'm considering taking another year and doing a PolSci major as well, as that's my other academic/career interest and it ties in quite nicely. That said, Levitt & Silver have gotten me rather interested in quant.

I'm liking the new animations for the EoC release - very smooth. The lack of bots is also nice, but makes me wonder a little about the overall game (folks playing has dropped by about 60k!). Anyway, I've gotten a few levels in the last couple of days, despite being sidetracked by MtGO :3 82 Farming! Finished The Feud just before the update; recoiling them bosses was hard! I'm also edging ever closer to 1.1k total. I might get there this week, when I try out Dungeoneering!

30k Players or so at the moment, compared to the usual ~80k. That 50% Bot population.

With Ports, all I can think is: Wheee! Sailing!

Thanks for that - I've been using for a bunch of stuff other than RS. I managed to get a fair few levels while rock hunting today; am edging closer to 1100 Total. I got 68 Woodcutting while doing Evil Trees, along with a blue egg - I've been hoping for a Raven's Egg, but they're meant to be rather rare. Edit: Also noticed that I'm in the top 100k players for Farming c:

Pwha, that's a lot of WC XP in a wee time there. Congratulations! When do you expect to hit 99 ^^;? -
Sorry I've been a little slow to update. Been busy IRL, and had some PC issues. Finally managed to get Some like it Cold done; I love the penguin series, so it was a lot of fun. I got another Farming level. And I saw this most excellent name on my morning herb run - rather jealous. <3: I also handed in my Strange Rocks for the week, now having a total of 4. I'm currently spending today doing Evil Trees/Stars and hunting for moar rocks, as per usual. Also, I feel like I'm going slowly insane talking to myself here - you're welcome to post, you know?

Right, I'll take a stab at this discussion from a 'left' view. This is a very good point to bear in mind. i) Natural rights are, to quote Bentham, 'nonsense on stilts'. People have no innate rights to property and the like; they're simply social constructs which allow society to function relatively smoothly - talk of human rights is aspirational; respect for that which is necessary in a 'just' society. A monopoly is all well and good until someone hangs you from a lamp post. Given this, any system which disenfrachises large amounts of the population who live under it is eventually destined for failure - above and beyond supplying public good, redistributive tax policy is necessary to alleviate wealth concentration which is inimical to a democratic or representative system. ii) I take the view that markets tend to fail for a variety of reasons, notably information asymmetry - yes, in theory free markets are the most allocatively efficient, but unfortunately we live in the real world rather than an elegant model. Free exchange in the Nozickian sense in meaningless, as he and others fail to derive meaningful accounts of just acquisition and transfer (specifically in the 2nd case, imperfect information) - G A Cohen does a much better account than I could; see chapter (3?) of Self-Ownership, Freedom and Equality. iii) Small government proponents are on the right track inasmuch as they are supportive of human aspirations and dignity; the ability of individuals to freely fulfill their potential without undue hinderance from others. This is well and good, but there exists massive structural discrimination against significant percentages of the population - meritocracy is only meaningful inasmuch as equality of opportunity exists: real, concrete support for things like 'self actualisation' comes from pragmatic social policies of freely available healthcare, eduction, regulation on air quality etc. iv) In markets which tend towards monopoly, a public rather than private monopoly is preferable, especially with regards to strategically important resources such as Oil ownership, electricity generation and like. The difficultly in initial just acquisition of natural resources means that it's better for such to be collectively owned by the population of a country via their representative government than in the hands of wealthy (transnational?) elite. That's all I can think of at the moment - I'm just spitballing from memory here, so I'll come back to edit/add in a few hours.

Gardening for Victory!

Almost got that 90s cape. 'm very jealous of your Gardening level. <3: -
Had a lazy day; got a lot (of RS playing) done. I managed a fistful of quests, so I'm now around 65 QP or so. I also got assorted misc levels, and spent a lot of my remaining playtime doing Evil Trees/Stars (got a repeat ticket for each!) A Summoning Daily challenge meant I could squeak in another level - 60! Making steady progress farming; can't wait for 80. I'm a little worried about Jagex implementing EoC, as from what I've heard, it's not sufficiently tested. We'll see D:
-
Yeah. Absolutely not looking forward to EoC. No idea what Jagex is thinking; as Z said - part of the appeal of RS is the minimalistic gameplay, while offering in depth content via quests & minigames. I despise the armour change, and certainly don't anticipate the complete gutting and overhaul of the combat system with glee.
-
It's rather frustrating to see hordes of level 113+ Bots. How do they not get banned before maxing out?
-
Banned for having a lower summoning level than me.
-
Enjoyable day so far - got to hunt Penguins twice thanks to the new Spin Rewards; almost got me 60 Summoning! I also managed to find all my rocks for the week; and handed in all but 1 pair for some nice XP (5 Days until the next rock). I'm thinking about setting an overall level goal; as I'm burning through skills via rock hunting, tree/star find and quest rewards. We'll see though.

I like my women like I like my Spongebob; mottled, yellow and damp. Alcoholic Beverages

It's been a casual few days - I've gotten various miscellanious levels from questing (now up to 50 QP!) and varied Star/Tree hunts. I also handed in my Strange Rocks for the week, so am 10% of the way there! 76 Farming. 2 Construction levels from the daily challenge (120 Oak Toyboxes). I'm also getting pretty close to 1000 total, which is a pretty big milestone. Hopefully I'll get there tomorrow.

I'd advise stockpiling Talismans, specifically Earth, for the next BXPW. They were selling at around 12k each just prior to. Superheating Ore is good xp & profit, too. Make sure you do daily shop runs, too - things like feathers, and also miscellanious items used in summoning.
