  1. Hat done. Uh... but I have all the circus clothing (incl weapons/firemaking stuff) -- Do I have to go claim it all at once?
  2. I don't really understand why you say this. I never played before Skillcapes were released, so i'm not asking just to be difficult, but i'm asking because i genuinely don't understand. The way i see it, it makes for a more goal oriented player. I don't think you can blame an item for a rotten community. He keeps thinking the 120 capes will skyrocket resource prices like the 99 capes did when they first released, ignoring the fact that barely anyone is going to go on a manhunt to get the 120 capes because unlike Dungeoneering, there's no incentive past 99 > 120. There was no incentive for most skills beyond level 85 when the original 99 capes were released, but that didn't stop people from going nuts lol. How many people do you think would have gotten 99 fletching had it not been for the capes? Better example is Firemaking - that has historically been 100% useless. Yet people would buy the logs for 99... for a cape.
  3. Impressive. :o Well - I woke up. Bye bye comp cape.
  4. Welp. Took me over 80 days longer than I wanted it to... but oh well.... keepsaking 120 mage cape over it when I wake up. lol
  5. Again, I commend you for being able to critize for 2 years falling on deaf ears and not giving up. I'm nowhere near that patient and accept the reality for what it is (which is why I'm playing RS again instead of remaining a retired player of the past)
  6. I said specifically hate the game, as in hate playing and not disliking the direction it's been heading in for the past 2~ years. Don't try to twist my argument into something else entirely just so you can try to attempt some vague counterpoint. But since you brought it up, it's been heading that way for 2 years if not longer. I'd hope that players who like the game but dislike the direction it's heading in have decided at what point they'll jump ship. I commend them on their patience - I can't bother to complain to Jagex more than 2 months, let alone for an entire 2 years. I personally despised it and quit shortly after SoF release. I didn't wait 2 years to walk away - I waited 2 weeks.
  7. Not all of us are this callous though. Yes, everyone is geared to pursue to their self-interest, but some of us do keep some regard for others. I could make a lot of money by peddling crack to crack addicts, but for some reason or another, I don't. yeah that's the things though... some regard. Jagex has that unlike crack dealers who plainly want their money. Jagex isn't putting a gun to your head ready to pull the trigger without concern. They so have concern and interest in healthy playing habits. They just aren't holding your hand guiding you. The world lacks common sense and personal accountability. This would be another example of that if a person choose a game over a carrier. Actually the fact that they are doing this is indicative of their complete lack of regard for the personal health and habits of their playerbase. They are openly and shamelessly taking advantage of people who don't know any better, and are proudly acknowledging it. I can't think of any way to spin this incident in any positive light. Perhaps on their next BTS they can proudly boast that since stealing candy from babies is very easy, that they will now actually start doing that. Their statistics state that the average player plays a little over an hour each day. A few people seem to have fallen into an XP Craze and have become more and more addicted to the game as time has gone on. People have stopped playing the game for fun - or if it isn't efficient "it isn't fun". Minigames dead left and right - content dead on arrival if it isn't efficient. Stop and smell the roses. If you find you don't actually enjoy the roses, leave the garden (the game) and go play something you actually enjoy. Each and every day I see too many players who actively state they HATE playing this game, but continue to play.... I just don't get it.
  8. The issue is the player mindset. During the week people are busy with work/school. Most people study/work late on the weekdays and use the weekends to relax. I know I never once spent my weekends studying, although I was sometimes up until 1-2AM studying on school nights. So with the assumption people will play less during the weekdays in May - which I'm sure they have player statistic data supporting this trend - then giving "double" stuff on weekends allows those people to "make up for lost weekday time". However the mindset of a portion of the community just seems to think "great, now I have to stay up 20 hours of scaping so I can save myself 20 hours of training in the future. Time to plan my life around RS and stock up on some energy drinks." The latter has more problem than the former. Personally I do fall in the latter group, but I typically have no weekend plans anyways and already spend my time scaping. I plan to get Artisan's Workshop out of the way for trim to save myself like 40m~ - and use whatever remaining time I have hunting for SOTG. If I get SOTG I'll be heading to Runespan to try and cut down some of my time there (I hate it there)
  9. Cool. So now I can merch at work too....I'm actually against as an update this but I guess it'll benefit me. Time to make money on RS while I'm making money IRL when it comes out.
  10. I don't know what to believe any more. Typical clever Jagex :P It's a common technique. Even Minecraft builders use it: (This person did it "wrong" in that they reflected the entire thing, but its good for demonstrational purposes)
  11. Probably to kill it off with daily challenges if he ran out of BXP to spend it on other skills like Fishing I'd imagine.
  12. Practice on Beta.
  13. How much did he bot? 1.5B xp means nothing if most of it was botted.
  14. 1.5 effigy per hour: 72k~ xp (lamps) + 20k~ (*0.5) (opening) Even assuming no other XP it was roughly on par with current Runespan at 90-110k XP/Hr. E: Also IIRC he still needed melee XP's at the time - making it even more efficient. Even assuming he had 15 of 16 effigy-able skills capped. Which at the time, I don't think he did. :P Just a few of them Effigyscape was OP. I kinda miss it compared to what we have now....
  15. The largest differences are Magic/Slay/DG rates. Warbands if efficiency means planning real life around Warbands times (personally, I miss all 3 throughout my work week.. can only do it on the weekends, if I bothered doing them at all) But Warbands only really affects Mining and a bit of Smithing. Farming, if done properly, can be 200m before you finish most of your skills off. Oh, and Agility being deleted. Most buyables are the same. IIRC Effigies were almost on par with Runespan, although it was a bit more costly and slightly more attentive. What made the game so easy was the sheer amount of bonus XP thrown everywhere. I mean - this will for-sure speed up my farming when I get around to it again:
  16. Impressive. Grats on the money.
  17. Because Drumgun is horribly inefficient.
  18. Do you do Glacors ever? I think I've seen you there.
  19. Better than systematically attacking them on every opportunity on the basis that "they're all capitalist pigs who only care about money." because that is true, actually. You realise that is how companies are run.. right? If they fail to make money, they fail to exist. Put two and two together, use that walnut in your head. Looool 'use that walnut' of course I know companies need money, but not by destroying their once awesome game with pathetic updates, and throwing around bxp everywhere. RS won't last long anymore if they continue with this crap. seriously use that walnut lmfao hahahaha If they make more money milking 100,000 players instead of catering to 1,000,000 players - the game will still thrive. With a smaller, more MTX-open, impatient-for-XP community.
  20. Lustrous vs Luminous. I only use energy I get from daily challenges. CBF buying what I need of G.E, even if its better xp/gp.
  21. They are doing a grade A job at pissing off the players and making it seem like their money/input is being put toward nothing. Jagex has to publically report their finances and their turnover has been the highest it's ever been. Ever. Keep in mind they are REQUIRED BY LAW to put these statements out. Last year was a pretty minor loss - but they claim that's largely due to a large one-time investment into the Transformers Universe game.
  22. the game won't last that longquote me on this. People said the same thing 5 years ago. People said the same thing 10 years ago too. It's been "dying" ever since I started playing in early 04. It doesn't help that the past few years have been the MOST PROFITABLE/BEST REVENUE EVER FOR JAGEX. It's not dying anytime soon.
  23. LOL @ relationships are a huge waste of your time. They prohibit my ability to travel and thusly are a waste of time. They contribute nothing to my desired lifestyle and only take away time I could use for more important things such as my self-study and art. A relationship takes away more than it gives and is thus an inefficient use of my time. To be somewhat on topic: How many 200ms do I need before I'm cool? :(
