Yeah, imageready is a companion program with recent versoins of photoshop, its pretty good for animated gifs and stuff, iv made a few with it. Theres other better animations programs like Flash though, but you just wanna make gifs right? So go with imageready

But no voting for yourself:P Just have the contest host take all the sigs and post them in a post with numbers beside each sig, then have people who have enterd full out a for rateing each one, like 1. 7 2. 8 3. 7 Ect... And then when all the voting is done take an adverage? I donno, that would work i guess

Yeah, terleys tut is great, but to sum it up, really basicly.... pencil drawing>linework>basic coloring(dump some colors in the lines)>shade it(zoom in and draw a darker color inside the linework, getting progreesivly lighter as you go inward) And thats the very basics for starters
