You think the Burnett deal was excessive, how about the closer they signed? Could have used a solid bat instead but w/e. As for the salaries professional athletes make, I agree its excessive. But their salaries are "demand driven", rather than their contributions and worth to society. What is earned by the team through revenues, the player gets a share of that in salary, which in turn could very well be millions. :? Edit1: Edited some. Edit2: :oops:
