Well, it really seems that you're just jaded. Probably a fault of the game, in that new and exciting things when you're at your level are so hard to come by, and when they do, they quickly lose their lustre. But call people stupid for still being excited about the game just rankles me. But for those of us who've never killed an Abyssal Demon, and who've never seen that first Abyssal whip drop sitting there, the thought is very, very exciting. Regardless of the resale price of said whip. You may no longer see the value, or experience any sense of excitement at the thought of actually getting a whip as a drop, but the majority of Runescapers who haven't sure still do. There will never be any additional excitement crafting nats (barring the occasional Abyss PKer). Working to 85 slayer, and then killing Abyssal Demons is an "Edge of your seat"-type excitement for us who haven't done it. Sorry you're so jaded, and that your sole purpose in playing Runescape has become the accumulation of pixellated wealth. Forgive our stupidity for not being so jaded yet. Yes, you can say i am jaded indeed... But the last thing i wanted to do, is to call someone stupid. As someone stated before, that training without gaining slayer xp seems pointless... I share that idea deeply. BUT i still dont like the common idea why people get slayer 85... Some do it for the variety of training spots, some for skill total etc. All i wanted to say, is that those, who train slayer 85 for the purpose of getting rich fast, are ignorant.

Abby demons are NOT a good xp at all... Approximately 40k per hour, which is not so good...

Frogact, training slayer for variety of training spots, and not to get bored so fast, is completely understandable... What i was trying to say, why people still think that slayer 85 is valuable, and think that sitting months at abbys is cool... As 0xpx0 (Hey m8 :D) stated before, abbys are worth killing nowadays only for slayer xp, not for the idea of getting lots of "$$$"... When i get my nice black mask out of the bank and go to the abyssal demon grounds, i pity the people who wear anything but a black mask in there.

I believe he's referring to the fact that people are still aiming for 85 Slayer from low levels, which is a total waste of time. Even with all the time spent into getting 85 the low price of Whips makes it less of a profit then Abyss crafting, which takes basically no input of effort to do in comparison to the months of "no lifing" for 85 Slayer. Wow, way to attack someone for not doing something they don't want to do. Your mom must be so proud. Anyways, I'm no mathematician but with the speed of the Abyss I believe 44+ Nat crafting is very close to the average hourly income of Abyssal demon slaying, if not surpassed it. Good to see that someone actually understood what i wanted to say. Thanks for that. :) I have nothing against the skill of slayer, i like it, otherwise i would not have it 88, now, would i? :P Maybe i just expressed myself a little badly. But yes, my main point was that, why people with 50sh slayer levels set their goal to get slayer 85, to get ALOT whips, like they like to think... Every once in a while people say, wow, you are slayer 88, you must be very rich, getting many whips every day... Bah. I just dont like the idea what people have, that you get rich with slayer 85. You wont get rich... Atleast not anymore.

Because whips are worth 2m.. Getting one from a drop is just one of the fastest way to get the money for one. He never said he waned to get other supplies from monster drops, but getting whips from drops is just an easy way to get them. 1 whip per every 3 hours? Wow, you are lucky. I usually get a whip every 1.5k abyssals... And thats alot more than 3 hours. :S

Thats my point indeed. I can understand the people who aim higher, for 90, like me... But just to camp for ages in there.... Uhhh...

Hello tip.it people.... My ingame name is Autist, a level 117 warrior with 99 92 99 stats... Anyway, i want to discuss the reasons why people still want slayer 85... Before you ask, yes, i am above slayer 85, actually 88... The goal of getting slayer 85 has existed since whips started to cost a lot... For years people have driven themselves to get that nice level... My question is: Why do still people want slayer 85? Can't they understand, that it's almost pointless nowadays? Whip drop rate is apporx. 1 per 500-1000 abyssal demons... It may vary. Whips cost about under 2 mil. I can't just see, why they want it... I dont regret getting slayer 85... Whips were 4-5m each back then, but now.... Blah. Do they really think that they will become rich, sitting upstairs of the slayer tower? Plain stupidity, if you ask me... Making nats is even faster cash. Please, discuss, why are people doing that. :S

No, 3 clues in one abyssal task, some 160ish demons... It may seem like it has gone down, because people want them more badly than before... If you wait something really badly, then the time feels like going slower...

First of all, wrong forum, try blogscape... Second, isnt it a bit early to set such a big goal? I mean, at lvl 66, you only got 500k xp... But for 99, you need 13m... But good luck anyway

I don't know if this will help, but i have gotten 2 KQ heads, during roughly about 650 kills. That 1/64 doesn't actually work for me, eh? :P

IF you could string ALL the items in your inventory just in once click, the experience would be insane. Think about... I'll do a bit estimated maths now.. Exp for each string - 40 Items to be string at once - 27 1 inventory = 1080... Now, that would most probably take about... Eh, 5 seconds? 3600/5 = 720.... And 720*1080 = 777K exp... Of course Jagex had thought about that, thats why it's not like that. :\ I have always said: You cant train your magic unless you are filthy rich and willing to ice burst bandits etc.. Or you just have to be something very close to a braindead, to alchemy 50k+ times or just cast stun for insane amounts.

About the maximum magical defence bonus... Correct me if i am wrong but... Doesnt any type of magic arena cape give more magic defence (10) than fire cape does? :oops:

What? Lol? Fire cape still has the best stats in the game. Only thing he wont be the best, is trimmed 99 capes, which give just 2 more prayer bonus, than fire cape does. Can't see any reason why fire cape will or would be less worn, now, after this pretty pointless cape update. I mean, they look cool and everything, but really, who would prefer it to a fire cape? :rolleyes:

At th start, i was still hungry for whips and only did abyssal demon tasks. Now, later on, i have started to do some other tasks too. But i skip the ones i dont like at all and sometimes i skip tasks just because i dont feel like doing them. Yer, i think i will add some pictures soon. :)

I am what you would call a slayer product. I am 78% combat based. 78% of my overall xp consists of combat experience. All my other skills are really low. Maybe ok, crafting is 80, but i bought it! :P Anyway, if i am a slayer product, then you would assume that i started training when slayer came out, and possibly a newcomer? Well, no, i had my attack 99 when my slayer was 82. I have trained my attack level to 92 with dragon long. Whips didint exist at the time. I was once 92 69 72. :$ Now i am 99 90 98. Prayer 52, combat 116. Anyway, i worked hard. I played only at weekends to achive slayer level of 85. Took about half an year. Anyhow, i managed to get it... Then, after getting my huge goal done, i, like any other, camped at abyssals for a few weeks. BUT I GOT BORED. I started training slayer again. No certain goal in my mind. Just bloody bored.
