I know its not exactly relevant to the general thread topic, but i'm not sure if its a direct result of noted herb drops or the expected fall after BXP dies down. Snaps are down 1.5k and I had to sell seeds at around 40k instead of 60k (what they were 4 days ago). Might be a good thing in general for buyers, but as of now I'm fairly certain avantoes/lants/dwarfs are better to farm then snaps. So its probably a smart idea to not buy snap seeds to farm untill seeds/herbs stabilize. These drops may be rare, but the drops in question weren't exactly high quantity trade items. Good chance of seeing Rune items drop alot or smithing to become profitable again

I believe it is time for the level caps to be raised. The amount of xp required for 99 now, doesn't even come close to what that amount of xp meant 5-6 years ago. For instance: On my first rs account 2001-2005, I maxed out melee training at ogres under the druid tower near ardouge. Xp rate there was 30-50k/hour (used a dlong, d scim/whip wasnt in) On my main account now, melee xp (semi afk mind you) is up to 100k/hour. Now meele perhaps isnt the best example. For those who played 5+ years ago, stop and think at what high level stuff has been introduced and how training methods have changed in that time, most importantly how xp rates have changed. Getting a 99 these days, pales in comparison to the TIME it took when there werent crazy xp rates available. Especially for those at the higher end of the total/cash spectrum, this certainly needs to be implemented in some form.

Nah just the above area is instanced, you still see people when you go downstairs.

I've personally had quite a few elite clues from them, which made them worth doing. As for a setup, just melee armour + bunyip. Super anti's are a must.

Since I don't have a yak yet I use Urns for Nechs/Abbys/Greaters/Black Demons, as on a task of 200+ its really annoying to bank 5 times a task. Personally I see it as free xp, due to the amount I killed before the ashes update when they gave nothing. However It really depends on what you want out of slayer: Money or Xp Im personally doing it for charms/maxing melee, since the urn update got 70-72 prayer with barely any extra work.

Personally i've found using salamanders/ice ancients results in my supplies lasting longer. Also If you have an EE its amazing down there.

Bought alot of unf's + seconds right after it came up on RS main page (got them for nearly normal price). Should get me 73-88+ herb Once im down to 1.1x, then using up 2 months worth of charms from slayer (got all seconds, just making cash for shards) 69-80+ summoning After im done with that, probably going to just run out the rest of the time doing agility. Leading up to the BXP weekend, just slaying with farm runs between.

I think the bare minimum is: 70 Farming 74 Hunter 64 Herb Edit: Beaten :(

If you plan on camping, use the brimhaven resource dungeon (so you can smith the rune bar drops into alchs or use the steel bars for knives). Aim to maximize your damage per spell, so: Staff of light Dungeoneering Neck (higher the better) Slayer dart/Claws of Guthix (with PC mace)/Highest Fire spell Personally I only kill these while on task, so using above with Full slayer helm/ferocious ring and slayer dart results in quick cheapish kills.

With herb prices what they are now, even if you sell your santa and spend the 80-90m on herb. You will probably fall a bit short of 85-86 herb. However with two weeks to prepare, might be an idea to start farming/collecting your own herbs.

With the x2 weekend announced, now would be a great time to farm second ingredients for herblore. Especially with people panic buying; white berries were up-to 4k each yesterday. With the return of FT, I highly doubt fish prices will ever be normal (Sharks 800-1k each/Lobs 200-400 each). All gathering skills have taken a pretty big hit :(

Might be a stupid question, but does anyone know if the xp granted by effigies/dragonkin lamps are effected by the bonus xp modifier?

Most Unf's/Herbs arent buying on GE already. Blew 100m on herb so far, might make it back on dragon bones though.

Was early 2004, ran over white wolf mountain. Dropped a big one when i saw how close you could fish lobbies to a bank. Sat there for like 2 hours and 'made bank'. First goal I had after becoming a member and checking the stuff out was completing every quest, took around a week and I remember it being really fun at the time. Wish I enjoyed questing now as much

I think Bursting/Barraging Nechs is pretty decent xp. Even if you dont bother to bank ashes/use urns, would still make some cash back from drops. Some extra charms too
