  1. There's a 10-second "not safe" timer for when you're in a safe zone during or after combat. This is how the PvP worlds are supposed to work. ITT: Pjer gets poetic justice.
  2. Wrong. The modern Santa was in New York Times years before Coke used it for their advertising. Coca Cola guys invented it... Again wrong. The "coke santa" was in advertising for over twenty years before Coke used it for their products. http://www.snopes.com/holidays/christma ... cacola.asp Learn 2 internet rumors.

  4. If companies fired every employee whose update caused a bug, there would be nobody in video games. Kiddies like yourself who have no idea how to code anything more complicated than a TI-83 calculator shouldn't be giving advice on how to run a business. I care. I went up quite a few ranks in skills thanks to this. Or down....The number dropped. But I do agree, Red Jude or whatever getting banned or not, I won't be losing any sleep on it. I disagree, I think cheating in school needs to be brought to someone's attention. This isn't like Runescape, this has real world implications.
  5. 2004 Christmas. "Hi Santa!" "I have a great reward for you coming to see me!" "Um...but I just walked through Varrok Square..." "Just take the yoyo...noob."
  6. Because it totally went like this: "Hey, you wanna unban some innocent players today?" "Nah. I just finished feeding Bob the cat, broke the game for pkers (lulz), and now I'm gonna work on a new hp bar" "Why can't you use your time to unban innocent players? Do you not care?" "no. If they didn't want to be banned, they shouldn't have gotten banned in the first place." Because every MMO is chock full of babies who are against any form of change just for the sake of it. In before "omg now runescape is RUINED"
  7. "The spirit of Christmas" IE: OP is still angry about no phr33 st0ff this past Christmas.
  8. I think the important part of this letter was that the health bars are finally getting updated. Oh and who wants to raise the rooster army to take on Jad? I hope they have a few thousand extra firecapes, in extra tiny size.
  9. This was a fluke. Just imagine what powers the penguins can really behold when they want to. Cold War 2 will surely entail the player fixing their credit after the penguins go on a spending spree with it. And you know I'm not referring to in-game.
  10. Or when Andrew Gower threatened to sue Tip.It over the "Biased Banning Raises Brows" article back in 2006
  11. Nope. That's actually handy because if you want to find out if someone's banned, check them in the highscores.
  12. Poor Ian, .65% of the company? He must not work there anymore.
  13. Your membership is being paid for with the prepaid time from cheaters who have been permabanned or tempbanned. It's like getting caught up in a bank heist, only to be rewarded by the police with money straight out of the robber's bank account. Owned.
  14. Pointless, disregarding. And my point, if you'd bother to read it, is that you don't talk like an idiot to someone in real life because the "conversation is casual", so that's not a valid excuse in game. College level grammar is far beyond the length of a line in Runescape. What is expected is more like the grammar of a thirteen year old. Also, it's the job of the upper class to beat the lower class into some form of sense, it's called education through consequence (If you refuse to interact or acknowledge someone who speaks like "hai guise, pc plz", they'll eventually learn not to type like an idiot). I knew my expectations were too high the minute I set foot in f2p lumbridge with some members stuff on (was meeting a friend) and was instantly barraged with "omg ur hot". I'm expecting too much, unfortunately those expectations are slightly above the lowest possible. [waits for 50 page "omg are ess iz ded no wildy" rant, oh wait it's already there]
  15. Except you have to gain 100,000 experience or a quest point before you can do ToG again. Also no. Tears of Guthix is a week from when you did it, it tracks by the hour. Your scenario is impossible.
  16. I do it because it's part of my contractual obligation to raise at least one skill level every week, have at least one f2p pure active, and harass people with dissenting opinions about the game, otherwise Andrew Gower beats me with a bamboo stick for violating the terms of my employm... I've said too much.
  17. Just goes to show, being here for three years does not guarantee you'll grasp the concept of "Behind the Scenes" after at least 36 runs.
  18. Cute. I got re banned today for the same reason. They can't make up their freaking mind. They realized their mistake once and then they ban me again just to make the same mistake? Wow. Love it. Maybe they saw your Youtube video and banned you for making a video of yourself trying to abuse the bug and it not working.
  19. I hope Soul Wars will be one of these "We're updating useless areas" updates. I like the idea for random events. I can't wait for the first one to glitch out and spawn for someone every second until they log out out of frustration. Soul Wars: I'm not big on minigames, but I'll check it out. If there are clothing rewards, I'll probably do it a few times. I still have to do Stealing Creation. Random Event: I prefer this to just removing them and moving on. I like the new system, I'm trying to make a hitpoints pure, so the idea of genie lamps from randoms. Price Check: OH MY GOD, I LOVE WHOEVER DECIDED TO APPROVE THIS. Interface: Again, quest cape on my main, but skiller  Evil Tree: I'll have to see this. Twice a day? Finally a D&D that I don't forget because I can only do it once a week. Other than the mining one, but that's a pain in the [wagon].
  20. Complaint about melodrama coming from someone named 'TheDayRsDied'. Let's check the meter Anyway, you don't type like a moron in a conversation "because it's laid back" for the same reason you don't talk to strangers like "Yo u gots tiem" (try pronouncing it) then justifying him questioning your gene count with "But iz layed bak convo, nub". That being said, if someone posts a well thought out argument or point, and your only response is: their Then it shows the person pointing out the argument has just about the same maturity level as someone who posts "OMG DEM N0BS R CRAZY" as a rant, or the people on the RSOF who continue to whine about how Runescape hasn't entertained them in over a year, yet they still pay for membership.
  21. I hope they have better rewards. I don't even care if the best you can get is about 10k, it'd still be better than 4 minutes for 20gp. The maze is one of the few randoms now that gives decent rewards.
  22. Um, no. They should be banned. Zero tolerance policy, stop encouraging people to cheat. i still think a ban is still over doing it maybe a mute or something but no a ban unless its just like for a day or 2. it could be a accident Parallel the abuse of a bug in RuneScape to a burglary. You may not be the one that did the crime, but you fit the description, so you are taken downtown for a while until everything gets sorted out, whether good or bad for you. In real life, the thief can leave town if he isn't caught quickly. What are you going to do, send your RS character on the run? In real life, they need the suspects there to perform tests, lineups (if any witnesses), etc. In the game, they have access to all the information they can get, regardless of whether your character is banned or not. Your comparison fails. It'd be like real life, except the Police would be a godlike deity that can see everything. So Jagex mods are more like the secret police. Don't bother hiding your thoughts in your mind, they already know them.
  23. I'll compromise. Those who get caught should be stat wiped, back to what they were a week ago. They should also have last chance revoked, because if they break enough rules to get banned in the future, it's obvious they haven't learned. Those who did it a lot, like the 1.5million slayer exp guys, should be permabanned. Those who didn't do it as much, you know 60k exp her or there, should get a temp ban, maybe a weeklong to give them time to think about it. A slap on the hand won't do anything. I understand that whenever a bug breaks out in an MMO, people will instinctively fly towards it to abuse the hell out of it, but I think Jagex is trying to make a forceful stand here and hopefully deter anyone from "trying out" a huge bug like this in the future.
  24. It's like the old problem with Real World Trading. So many people were doing it that eventually others just said "You know, why should I work hundreds of hours to get these 99's when he paid __ dollars and got it powerleveled, and Jagex couldn't care less? They didn't ban him" Cheating disenfranchises people from games and sports. You can argue against it all you want, but the fact still remains that cheaters ruin the game for other people, especially those who get away with it.
