an MMO with beggars? Welcome to the internet; may I take your coat? plz? coat? I give u trade limit and make u mod cuz my uncle is Adrian Gower.
  2. My point was merely directed at the obnoxious group of players who will say, "See! Told you no Sailing!" It would be the same as saying "See! Told you Carpentry wasn't going to be re-released!" While they are technically right, it's still a ridiculous remark to make. Understood, and I agree, it is stupid.
  3. I have the curse of high metabolism and never being hungry. Height: 6 feet Weight: 122 BMI: 16.5 I'll be 20 in a couple of months, which makes it all the more pitiable. I haven't gained any weight since first year of High School (5-6 years ago)
  4. Do go on.
  5. He took some stupid comment, decided it was Jagex's official opinion (If 90% of the community can't do it, it's too hard), and bashed them on it. I applied the same logic to him so he gets an understanding of how unfair it is.
  6. If there are twelve cows at pasture and teenagers tip over three, then you were right to go massacre the entire village. Good logic, Kenneh. :wall: See? Even I can take nonsensical data, throw in some statistics, and call it your official opinion, then bash you for it. *See Patriot emoticon*
  7. That's because exploration =/= Sailing Yeah and Construction = Carpentry under a different name. Thanks for playing. Fixed your post. How convenient to try to say they're synonymous when they're not. Carpentry is woodworking while Construction is building things - wood or not. Just like Sailing is venturing on water while Exploration is venturing - water or not. PS: Thanks for the pic. Construction started out as carpentry, that's why they're synonymous. Carpentry was an update KNOWN to be on Jagex's list, and it was renamed to Construction. There's no proof sailing was ever on the list, and you're arguing theory with saying sailing = exploration that makes you basically infallible. If the skill contains any boat at all, you'll just say "Look, it evolved from sailing!!"
  8. Boohoo. If it's so easy, then why aren't you rich?

  10. To all who say Jagex caters to noobs, I present: Exhibit
  11. Finished the easy task [hide=Rewards]*Lamp: 1k exp *Headband: wearing it allows you to collect a free 30 flax daily[/hide]
  12. Nah. Damn you 70 prayer requirement! You took an easy looking diary and made it impossible!
  13. That's because exploration =/= Sailing
  14. I posted a quote statng their reason. pretty dumb actually. it's on page 3 Just shut up with the "it's pretty dumb" comments, you're not making your point any more valid :wall: They changed it because the reward had nothing to do with the quest, and they wanted Laws, which are barely above Nature, to be available to all members. Also, 20k exp is a much more appropriate reward than a talisman.
  15. Guthix can destroy the world then recreate it at whim, and through his mere directive was able to stop all factions and their gods, and force them to never directly influence the world again. Do you really think any of the lesser gods, or even Saradomin or Zamorak could enforce their will upon others like that? If they could, the God wars would've never happened to begin with! Jagex have said he's the strongest god, second strongest being Zaros, via the god letters.
  16. He is saying items, not armour and weapons. So by all means, it could be some sort of chisel that does something special, or whatever. What would that have to do with Guthix?
  17. Guthix already has an all powerful weapon, waking him up in case the sides ever become unbalanced.
  18. I remember that. I laughed at the people who bought them up, then whined on the forums afterwards: "WTF JAGEX U SED DEY WHERE GOING 2 BE DISCONTINUUD, KNOW I LOST LIEK 20MIL IM QUITING N PLAYIN WOW" In every thread, followed by two pages of "Don't let the door hit you on the way out". I love whiny kids who try to be merchants and fail at it because they have all the speculative powers of a cat pawing at an exposed wire.
  19. Imagine if Jagex were to release a quest where you go to the Elfen lands and save a dying Elf from a demon that wants to take over lleyta. As a reward, they boost your Varrok Armor. That's what the law talisman is to Troll Stronghold, it was literally "hey, I found this talisman by the way. You want it?" Then again, when missing the point completely, you couldn't even argue against the point you were making correctly. They didn't change it for the benefit of the assist system, or because the quest was too easy. It was because the reward was a crappy reward for fighting monsters that can hit upwards of 40, and I remember seeing a lot of posts on the RSOF over the years about how the reward didn't match the quest. And you didn't say you wanted the laws for yourself, not directly anyway, but you didn't need to. The argument was that it being a quest reward was what made them so profitable. Well it's not like people said "Oh look, law runes. You know, they're a quest reward? Yep, we need to respect them because they completed a quest to get these." I'm sure it was because people respected it as a quest reward, not necessarily because it meant not everyone could do it, once again giving you a stranglehold on the market. By the way; could it possibly have anything to do with more people runecrafting for themselves now that they can't do a lot of running? More people being able to craft laws means more laws being crafted. More laws being crafted means more laws in the market, lowering the price. But no, as you said, it has nothing to do with other people being able to make laws, it's because people said "Hey this isn't a quest reward, let's lower the price!"

It's a case of the versatile outclassing the not versatile. Those who use obsolete and ineffective tactics are whining because they're not working against people smart enough to use at least two sides of the combat triangle.
  21. The logic of people on this forum never ceases to amaze me. 1. Blood, Death, Cosmic, and Astral runes all have a story to them, they're part of the quests. Cosmic because you need access to the lost city, Astral because you need access to Lunar Island, Blood because of that quest there, and Death because of the elf storyline. The death talisman made no sense in Troll Stronghold. When it was released as the reward, I'm guessing Jagex was just thinking "Ok, we need a reason to put this in the game, let's just have him say 'hey I found this talisman'", which is what the reward was. At no point is Entrana brought up, Entrana and the law altar have nothing to do with the quest, and having it as a reward made no sense whatsoever. Edit: I'd also like to point out. The Blood, Death, Cosmic, and Astral altars are hidden away in areas that you need to do quests to access. The Law altar is in the middle of Entrana. 2. I always love it when people show their true greed when posting. It's not about the item being a good reward from the quest, because it isn't, it's about a certain number of players who wanted a choke hold on the Law rune supply, and are now pissed that the law runes are at a level playing field with the other runes. 3. A lot of this also comes down to the regular people who are afraid of change, and will throw any bad situation as a reason to change it back. These are the same people who point to one autoer and say "Look, that was pointless. Let's just put everything back to the way it was before the December updates." Halting progress in favor of normalcy, it's the way of the secluded, self indulgent, delusional MMO player.
  22. There are a lot of quest chains in Runescape, and many of them chain together. Every town, every city, every area, has its own unique history and tale to tell. Even the Barrows Brothers evolved from "oh hey, look, ghosts with cool armor drops" to have their own intricate story. I love reading Runescape lores and histories, not to mention postbag from the hedge. It gives great insight into the game's story. Also, it was quite a tearjerking moment during the battle in While Guthix Sleeps, it seemed almost unfair that it just ended in a couple puffs of ash and one slowly falling hat. I went to his house afterwards and planted mithril seeds.
  23. You are a complete and utter idiot if you can't acknowledge there is at least some possibility that the wording was intentional. Everyone knows Jagex loves to just hint and poke at things that are coming. And one of the most cryptic clues you can leave is a somewhat commonly used phrase that could have a deeper meaning. And your also and idiot for saying just because someone faked a picture it isn't real. You can say the same thing about big foot or crop circles. But until you work for Jagex and are in on everything that is happening. You can not say there is not a sailing skill. And your a complete fool for saying you will quit if Sailing does come out, for all you know it could have some little tid bit that could just make you drool its so good. God i've met Jesus-Freaks that are less narrow minded than you anti-sailing people. Big Foot and Crop circles are fake, that's the key. All evidence to both has been discounted and revealed as false and impossible every time. I can say there isn't a sailing skill in Runescape, because there isn't. What the logical community will not allow is people like yourself who throw the subject into a manner in which you cannot possibly lose the argument until Runescape shuts down. Until the day Runescape shuts down, you will continue to claim that it is on its way, and will never accept that you were wrong in your speculation. Do not bring Construction into this; Construction was on the skill list for a year. Do not bring Summoning into this; Summoning had the life rune, and was announced in March 2004. Do not bring hunter into this. Hunter was actively hinted at in-game with the large amount of new animals Jagex added to the landscape before its release Do not bring farming or Slayer into this. Just because those two skills were not hinted at or expected, does not mean that every skill nobody has ever expected will be coming to Runescape. The idea of Sailing sounds fun. Leveling up and building myself a big boat through which I can traverse the open seas, fishing and cooking my catches, fighting sea monsters, and finding new areas, battling sea monsters, finding brand new items for various skills (New herbs, new ore, new plants, etc). I can not, however, discount that there is no evidence for Sailing. I'm not saying that those who believe in Sailing are idiots, or that it's never coming out. I'm just saying; don't get your hopes up. Don't go wild whenever Jagex releases what might be a cryptic hint, and don't be disappointed whenever they don't come through. Do you remember when you were a kid around Christmas and you were absolutely sure you were getting a certain toy or game? You pestered your parents for it so much it must be chiseled into their forehead, and the way they said "We'll see what Santa brings" with that smile on their face practically gave it away. Then Christmas comes, and there's no Gameboy Pocket underneath the tree. DAMN YOU SANT- :-# I'm rambling. I'm just saying, healthy speculation is fine, but this whole debate is getting incredibly out of control, I feel like I'm witnessing two fanatic groups trying to kill one another over Runescape. Oh and: Jesus freaks have a book to go off of that isn't in the fiction section. That does give them a slightly bigger edge of believability than Sailing. Not much, but slightly higher.

Tanks are powerful, that's because they're designed to be. There are tanks in every rpg available, it's a tactic. Nobody cares what pures think about combat. That's like asking someone who dodges paying taxes what they think about a tax increase.
