RuneScape Q&A Further Answers 05-Mar-2009
Let's check this baby out. I think the important thing is that no, Jagex doesn't write this stuff as they go along. In regards to quests that is.

RuneScape Q&A Further Answers 05-Mar-2009
Yes. "Jagex, why won't you talk to us?" "Because you don't take anything I say maturely. Either I'm promising an update or I'm forshadowing the destruction of the game." "Oh. K. By the way you said destruction, you know what that means." "What?" "SAILING SKILL! DESTRUCTION OF OTHER SHIPS! PVP SAILING" "I never stated that" "stated...stated...saturday! You're releasing it this saturday? That's an odd day for an update. I'll go tell everyone on tip.it. Man this'll be AWESOME! Saturday release of the sailing skill!!!! WOO, now I have a reason to not ragequit, your promise has given me so much hope!!!" "" Moral of the story: Speculators are the #1 cause of suicide in the Jagex Towers. And no, the S in suicide does not hint towards Sailing

Holiday Musings and a permanent solution to rares
Bank space falls under "not technically possible at this time", as they have to upgrade the system to allow for bigger character files before they can add more bank space. Servers fall under discussed to death. They've already said in past threads that they will not make it possible to obtain holiday event items if you weren't there for them, as it goes against the intent of the items in the first place. They said they had no plans on completing the dragon armor back in runescape classic, but changed that because of demand from players. There's a big difference between releasing a piece of armor everyone wants, and removing the exclusivity of a couple dozen items just because of about 20 whiny players.

Oh how I miss you BTS...
It's certainly entertaining to see a bunch of kids who think they're clever, end up losing pretty much everything because of their own short sighted greed, then trying to put the blame on Jagex. Exhibit 1: People buying up broken pickaxes thinking they would be discontinued Exhibit 2: People buying up granite

Another Anti-Gameplay Update from Jagex
If quitting runescape was the "best decision of your life", the only thing I can think of is; why are you still posting on Tip.It? So you can flaunt your e-peen by gloating about how you quit a video game? Maybe he just like using the forums. I know when I quit I'll still be around here. Maybe not bragging that I quit, but still... There's a big difference in sticking around a forum after you've stopped playing the game, and strutting around like you're a better person, putting down the game and talking about how quitting was the "best decision in my life" which, granted, doesn't say much for his "life".

Holiday Musings and a permanent solution to rares
List of Suggestions to avoid (No longer contains a list of things Jagex "may" implement, just deals with things that won't be coming out) Making Holiday/Random Event Items tradeable and vice versa Re-dropping/Selling tradeable Holiday Items Requests for holiday emotes to be made available again So there you have it. They're not going to make them tradeable, they're not going to redrop them, they're not going to make them untradeable, and common sense should tell you that they're not going to remove them. I have an idea; Instead of Jagex going through all the trouble to replace holiday events and make it twenty times more complicated, they just stick with their original plan: 1. New items every holiday 2. Emotes are reused, exception to the rule 3. You have to be there to get it 4. You snooze you lose 5. stop crying, baby. You should've been taught at a young age about fairness, getting over it, and gratitude. I guess Jagex assumes too much responsibility on the part of their player's parents.

Another Anti-Gameplay Update from Jagex
When you have a habit of whining about everything Jagex does, like the OP, the chances of you being impressed by their choices is slim to none. That's how Historik can be so "sure" that it will fail, at least in his tiny, narrow minded world.

Another Anti-Gameplay Update from Jagex
Fixed. *raises hand* I know! When they're finished! Only an insult if you're the kind of whiny little kid who takes offense to things like "omg dey changed uh pixul culur in the board in lumbrige. JAGEX U N0BS". How is this insulting? Oh right, preteen sensitivity. Who said the situation is dire? They had to close down Bounty Hunter to keep players safe while they fixed a bug, and they saw an opportunity while doing that to fix a few other issues they were having. It's like doing the dishes and, while you're doing them, realizing you need to shut off the machine for a while to clean the crumbs out from behind it. 1. That's not up to you to decide, last I checked you don't own anything in the game, it's not your perogative. 2. Who said they're putting a lot of time and effort in? These changes should take a small team a week or two to figure out, as opposed to most other updates that take a few months. 3. To stop the one remaining world historik uses to trade munies, maybe? 4. Let's not forget that the other reason they're doing this is to fix the gameplay aspects of bounty hunter, like the pairing. 5. Who says this isn't to do with credit card fraud? Who says the banks didn't come back to them again and say "Jagex, we thought we made it clear the first time. Get rid of this [bleep] or you're finished. Again." Gold farming and macroing will increase from the closure of BH-whut? Nice logic, never forget how many people end up getting banned for botting, buying accounts, or having theirs powerleveled (Need I bring up little timmy?). Real world Trading is never going to stop, but it can be contained so that most of the idiots who do it are banned. The update is on impulse, yes, but not for the reasons you'd like to tell yourself. Like I already said, they closed it down to prevent people from crashing other players and killing them, then saw an opportunity to fix these. The thing I'd like to know is; people did nothing but [bleep] at how much Bounty Hunter sucks, and now that Jagex closes it down to fix it, everyone and their brother is a mega-BH fan and is going to baw and cry if they don't get to hunt their bounty. Get over yourselves, kiddies. Go play the other 99% of the game while you wait, rather than sit on message boards and spam "omg jadax haets us dey r liek destroing BH BAAWWW". Grow up, get a spine, stop trying to take a moral highground that doesn't exist. I'd also like to quickly point out that if Bounty Hunter's stereotypical players quit because of this short downtime; nothing of value will be lost from the game.

3rd March 2009 - Deposit-all feature and more + Patch Notes
Some people want to do something other than no life a game sacrificing a huge amount of their life to achieve several 99's. These sort of updates are awesome, that's almost undeniable. But new game content should come with them. Many, many people want to get out of the regime of grinding at skills constantly and quests provide a much needed distraction (surprisingly better than "distraction and diversions"). I think the key part is that they don't have all 99's, so it's not like they don't have anything to do. And also: People who don't like grinding? They're in the wrong game. Well if you're going to be a mister-know-it-all. Let's see....Ah, more ectotokens. That's got me all hot and bothered.

A too strange coincidence...

I know where you're coming from. I regularly look in the news to say: Ok...cool...cool...cool. Now, what's in other news? Bank notes default is back to normal (off after you close the window)? YES, FINALLY. I HATED THAT BANK NOTING, having to turn it on and off constantly.

RuneScapes largest quest 2date Return Of Lucien... or WGS?
When I first saw the thread title I was like "OMG 150TH QUEST IS RELEASED OMGOSADJFSLDJFASL;KJFSL;FJ" Then I came down from that excitement. The skeleton is still a nice find, although i think we all knew that a sequel was coming.

Is this game worth playing anymore?
Disregarding the regulars, yes, it is still wroth playing anymore. If your version of fun on Runescape wasn't 99% pking in the wilderness, you're fine.

Holiday Musings and a permanent solution to rares
I think if we've learned one thing today, it's a reinforcement to the idea that Jagex can't do anything without at least one small group of whiners coming around and making demands. To summarize the argument against the OP: Life isn't fair. Jagex made a mistake making the early items tradeable, but it's something they said they will NOT be changing. Holiday items from the bunny ears onward are status symbols of how long you've been playing, whether or not whiners like the OP are willing to acknowledge that fact it still remains true. For Jagex to cave in to the consistent whining of the newbs and rs2 products who wouldn't know status if it certed their items and told them they couldn't wear gloves with chest armor at the same time, it would put a stake through the hearts of many longtime members, and would probably be one of the few updates that would cause me to quit, because sentiments will mean absolutely nothing. I think you need to stop paying so much attention to what you consider useless items, it looks to us like you're covering for your secret jealousy of the older or richer players. I don't beat myself up about missing the scythe or bunny ears, it's really not that big of a deal to not have them, but don't take it away from those who do. Oh yea; On the Runescape Classic forums we had a thread going asking for a Runescape Classic cape in-game for people who could still play. The suggestion would affect maybe a thousand at most, many of them not even active, and more who refuse to play Runescape 2. We thought the idea was pretty much bust, until Mod Emilee showed up and passed it on to the content team, then we heard from Mark Gerhard that he thought it was an amazing idea, wanted to see it put in, and was going to go straight to Andrew Gower about it. It's good to see Jagex likes their older players more than the OP does.

I loved this update, I would prefer this over a crappy mini-game no one will use any day (I'm not referring to soul wars). Farming update in the skill list? very useful. Bank update? Love it. Price check-oh wait that was last week. Either way, love it. I have plenty to do in Runescape still, it's not like I won't have anything to fill another few hundred hours of gameplay.

Maybe Return of Lucien was the codename, like Carpentry became Construction. This isn't the first time independent artists have been discovered. All of Mechscape's concept art is from independent artists (minus the newest) hired.

Membership - How should it expire?
No. You don't get 30 days worth of membership, you get 30 days from activation to use members features. Why in God's name would Jagex destroy their income from p2p in order to satisfy the cheap and the kiddies who consider five dollars to be of some great amount? I'm a college student owing about 30 thousand dollars in loans, and five dollars still isn't a bank breaker. Oh and it's not Jagex's job to make up for the fact that you can't ask simple questions and be prepared for things like vacation trips. 30 days worth times 24 hours a day gives you 720 hours. Assuming you play three hours a day, it would take you 240 days to use up your membership. 240 days is about 8 months, so by paying five dollars you would be depriving Jagex of seven months worth of membership. This goes on the selfish-to-a-pathetic-extent shelf, next to free 99's, free party hats, and everything in members being free.

Why are there lootshare worlds?
Instead of pulling statements out of thin air, care to back up your claim that they're being more solo-oriented? It seems to me you don't care about soloers, instead you just want to fulfill your selfish need to have an empty lootshare world, don't care who ends up getting the short end of the stick if you're satisfied.
