Richard Wright - RIP
I wasn't even aware he had cancer, how terrible. A sad day for music.

Indeed, I'm glad i'm old enough to be able to someway understand and take an interest, but young enough not to be affected too much.

Just whatever you find more comfortable. At my gym there's a black padded thing that you can put round the bar so it's not as uncomfortable, but it's not always available. As long as it's not on your neck you should be okay, I find my lower traps slightly fleshier and so a bit more comfortable but you'll soon find where you want it.

With squats, you've got to get your [wagon] to the floor if you want to see results. That utilises the full range of motion for your leg and is damn harder than those slight knee bends that seem to pass for squats with a lot of people. Don't just drop either, make it a smooth and controlled descent then an explosive squat up. But if the weights are heavy enough an explosive pushup won't be particularly fast. I'm not sure what tips I can give with deadlifts, just make sure when you're stood straight you don't throw your shoulders back too violently, I pulled a muscle in my upper back once doing that. With a lot of exercises I'd say once you've finished all your 10 rep perfect form sets, feel free to throw in a lower rep set maybe with slightly sacrificed form, just to push your maximum. However with deadlifts I really wouldn't recommend that, make sure you're always lifting a weight that's not straining you. You can build your back with lots of other exercises to improve your deadlift maximum, but go too heavy with deadlifts and you might pull something badly and won't be lifting anything for a while.

I've got the latest versions of Messenger and iTunes and running XP and it doesn't seem to be a problem. Do you use Last.fm? Just checking the settings on my client and it sends a notification to Messenger when a new track starts, so it's possible that it's overriding any issues that Messenger and iTunes might be having. Beyond that I can't really help you, sorry.

Don't just do crunches, if you really want to build ab muscles you've got to find a whole host of exercises that target them. Your abs isn't just one muscle block that you can hit hard like your pecs with the bench press. This article explains what I mean more and gives you something of a decent workout program, but don't feel obliged to stick to it. I must confess the abs is one muscle group i've probably never really given enough serious attention to. I've never been a flabby kinda guy, so it's always been reasonably defined and i've preferred to focus on "bulking up" my other muscle groups, which is a little hard for the abs. The aesthetic appeal of an obvious six pack has never been something i've really gone after.

Homosexuality: Right or Wrong?
I have a hypothetical question i'd like to put forward. We've already established that in many cases homosexuality is not a simple choice that you can turn on and off at will. However, if it was (solely a personal choice) would you still support it? Personally I absolutely would, I see no reason why it being a choice should make it any less okay, since it's a private "act" between consenting adults. However I suspect that many religious people who previously thought it was acceptable on the premise that it wasn't a choice might change their minds, and i'm curious if this would be the case. Or maybe even people for whom religion plays no part in their decision making process would suddenly be less comfortable with the idea. I don't know. My principles are fundamentally libertarian, and not based on what is and isn't genetically predetermined.

The iTunes 8 update include the Genius feature, which I was eager to give a go. It's actually pretty good, although nothing new as Last.fm and Pandora have been doing it for years, but it's nice to have instant playlists in your iTunes. There was a rumour that they were going to provide it as a free update for iPod classics, but apparently it was just a rumour. It's a shame because that would have been really nice.

Rarex, if you're trying to build muscle and working out properly you shouldn't be able to work out everyday of the week. You really don't seem to be understanding this but rest days are fundamental, so let me give you an analogy. If I do my arms (triceps/biceps) on a Saturday, my triceps will be so sore the next day that I couldn't possibly go and do my chest/back routine because triceps are important with any chest press exercise. When I do my legs, properly, I can barely walk down stairs the next day. I'm not then going to go and do deadlifts with my back because i'd be collapsing after a couple (deadlifts utilise hamstrings). If you can work out every day of the week, and claim to be building mass, you're not doing it properly. Your program may help you see results, but you could be getting much better results if you actually took some serious advice and stuck to a proper program.

What the heck do you mean Lol? In case you were not aware, downloading a track of music without paying for it from a website (ie. Limewire) is ripping from the artist. Stealing, in other words. And in case you were also not aware, stealing can get you convicted by the police, which probably means imprisonment. I'm not especially diagreeing with you, I just want to point out that you're spreading misinformation. Music piracy is copyright infringement, a legal matter of intellectual property rights that the police would have nothing to do with. You might get fined yes, but certainly not imprisoned. It's also not stealing in the traditional sense of the word since you're just downloading a virtual copy of which there are theoretically infinite amounts. By pirating music you're not depriving anyone else of their property, which is what stealing traditionally constitutes.

I haven't listened to them much recently, but they'd be top of my list of bands to see live if I could. Apparently Matt Bellamy's virtuosity and showmanship has reached such prolific heights that the audience are often reduced to stunned silence after songs before the applause starts.

Haha, awesome, i'll definitely keep listening to them. Ice Cream Van - Glasvegas I didn't expect this album to be so beautiful.

I think they look really good actually. I wouldn't buy one, their memory capacity is still a little low for me, but I like the sound of the "Genius" feature (if it works) and shaking to shuffle songs.

No, there aren't. You're confusing mathematically valid theories about the world (i.e. M-theory) with actual tested fact. M-theory and superstring theory might predict multiple dimensions but they've never been observed, and so nothing can be said about their physical validity. Hell, as far as i'm aware they haven't even made predictions that can be tested with experiment yet to confirm the extra-dimensions. Going outside has a 'slight chance' of killing you, but you still do it. Most of the big breakthroughs have come from either blue-sky research with no practical applications. Do you know where the internet was invented? CERN, the place running the LHC. It was developed by a scientist trying to find a more effetive way to share results with other scientists. He didn't do it because he thought it would be particularly useful outside science. You can't direct and cajole science. It hasn't and never should be a subject where popular opinion of where the money should be spent wins out. Scientists delight in nature, you have to let their imaginations run free if you want anything interested to be invented or discovered. And by the point it becomes useful many scientists will have already moved on to the next puzzle, the next mystery.

Fantastic, i'll definitely check them out. :) Oh by the way, I gave Worst Case Scenario by dEUS a proper listen to on Sunday night and I really liked it, definitely a band I'm going to check out more. Geraldine [Live] - Glasvegas
