Working out topic
I enjoy it, but I've got to be in the mood for it. The endorphin rush when I've had a really good workout, and feeling the "pump" in your muscles (tight skin, bulging veins) is a great feeling now and again. But sometimes when I can't be arsed it can feel a little forced. I'm not that regimented anymore, I tend to only workout when I really want to make the most of it. Just got back from the gym, went with a few friends which is something I don't normally do. My best mate wants to start going a bit so I might start training with him.

~~ The Smashing Pumpkins ~~
Made this a sticky and slightly unconventional Champion Your Band entry. If I see anymore decent posts like this made on bands I might just nominate them to be CYB entries and sticky them for a bit, probably easier.

Well that's a super philosophy, with that kind of thinking we'd still be living in caves.

Even with the standard headphones I've never really had much of a complaint against the sound quality. It's not the best if you're trying to listen to a very intricate orchestral piece, but in that case i'd just stick a decent pair of headphones in. With my dad's Bose earphones the sound quality is superb.

Sick of people saying that metalcore deathcore hardcore etc
I don't know what it is about metal that draws in some seriously anal people who'll argue genres all night long.

Absolutely, depending on your physique you might have to work at one aspect more than the other. For example I naturally seem to build up good cardio easier than muscle bulk, so my exercise routine generally reflects that, but yeah there's definitely a happy equilibrium.

Bailout, American economy, and failing businesses
A falling dollar boosts exports stimulating the economy. You have demand-pull inflation as a by-product but that's just recession. What you don't want is a situation where the entire financial structure of the world's largest economy was threatening to collapse, which it was last week. Now that problem's been resolved, you've "just" got recession.

Or, if you want to maintain your cardio on top of weightlifting, do intensive sprint training. Yesterday I went to a nearby hill that's probably about 100-200m big, i'd sprint up it, walk down and repeat for 20 minutes. That was enough to absolutely destroy my lungs but won't have eaten away at my muscle as much because it was short bursts. It's good for building lower power though. I mean okay, if you're really serious about bodybuilding even cardio like that should probably be avoided, but I'd never want to get to a state where i'd neglect my cardio fitness for pure muscle building.

Yeah, I mean god forbid the most complicated piece of technology ever built should have any technical hitches whatsoever whilst trying to answer some of life's biggest questions. What a waste ay?

Possibly true, but I have acne on my back so it's a little brutal without it for me :P I'd say generally though it's still better to have the pad if you can lift that bit more with it, it's not really assisting you, just makes it more comfortable.

Ordered and received. CD's and DVD's.
I don't know why I didn't mention it, but I bought a copy of Songs for the Road by David Ford weeks ago. It's an amazing album, but one song stands out in its beauty. The lyrics for Song For The Road just blow my mind. [hide=]Well the day casts down Lengthy shadows on unfamiliar towns I drove 300 miles from the place I call home And I tip my hat to the angel of the North And the sun sets fire to the heavens On the hills over Sheffield tonight And I'll sail over this countryside with new friends and old And we are no where, but man, we're alright So you can keep your belief in whatever I'll wear my cynicism like a tattoo While poets try to engineer definitions of love You know all I can think of is you And I can't wait to see you on Sunday Far from the traffic and the smoke and the noise For this evening I will play back every message that you sent And I will sleep to the sound of your voice Now I don't like using words like forever But I will love you til the end of today And in the morning when I remember everything that you are I know I'll fall for you over again I know someday this all will be over And it's hard to say what most I will miss Just give me one way to spend my last moments alive And I'll choose this, I'll choose this, I'll choose this I'll choose this, I'll choose this, I'll choose this I'll choose this, I'll choose this, I'll choose this [/hide]

Bailout, American economy, and failing businesses
Thank God. They're the largest insurer in the country. If the government stood by and let these companies fall like dominoes we'd be going into a depression very soon. If they intervened from the get-go, these problems could be avoided... I agree, Henry Paulson made a mistake by letting Lehman Bros fail, it sent out the wrong message to the market. We're balancing on a knife edge at the moment, if it tips the wrong way the consequences will be disastrous.

I'm with Matt. It's nothing to do with the followers, but an honest and literal interpretation of the Koran is disturbing. The sooner people realise that without holding it against the followers, the better.
