Depends on the thread, often posts are better if they're short and to the point. But if it's a proper debate then i'll put a lot more time and effort into it, sometimes hours (back in the good old days, when I had hours of free time).

I guess so, TV more than PC because there isn't much I watch on TV. I wouldn't really see the point of cutting yourself off, but yeah I could just read a book and listen to music/the radio, or just go the gym a lot and hang out with friends and stuff more than usual. Wouldn't be a big deal, just a bit annoying.

If an imminent threat was posed against, say Scotland, would you take up arms and join the military or just duck in fear behind a toolshed? I can't believe the stuff written here. :shock: Your attitudes will probably change after you grow older... I think the fact isn't so much that everyone's a complete pacifist, more than they feel there's no point fighting in a war for oil/political (in?)stability in the middle-east, propping up some kind of "democracy" in a country founded on a religion which has no tradition of democracy. I know hindsight is 20-20, but there aren't many wars in our (British) history which i'd really say were worth fighting for, WWII is probably the only one that springs to mind immediately. If I thought there was a genuine threat to my country/values, then yeah i'd fight to defend them, but I don't think Iraq poses that threat. I wish I had more snow stories, but hardly get anymore proper snow in the UK anymore. My best experience was missing school when I was younger because there was quite a lot of snow, and going out sledging with my mum on the golf course. I love snow, and I don't mind the cold as long as i'm wrapped up. Walks through frosty woods on a sunny but cold days are great. I've never been skiing but I think i'd love it, partly because it looks so snowy and nice. Sadly my dad hates the cold, and would want to escape somewhere hot every winter if he had the choice. :P

Thanks for getting the ball rolling with this great post. :) _______________________________________________________________________________ Thousand Foot Krutch Genre: Christian Alternative Rock Label: Tooth & Nail Thousand Foot Krutch has been one of my favorite bands for about a year. They are technically a Christian band, but they aren't like a lot of christian bands that are almost preachers. There are a few slight references to praying or the Christian God on a few songs, and the members are Christian. Their first CD, That's What People Do, wasn't that popular. It is out of print (so I don't own it >_>). They started getting popular with their second CD, Set it Off, which I can't stand at all. Everything after that (Phenomenon, The Art of Breaking, and The Flame In All Of Us) was incredible. The Art of Breaking was the first CD of their's that I bought. Actually, I think it was the 8th album I bought...somewhere around there. I first heard of them when I randomly heard one of their songs on shuffle on my dad's iPod. I don't know how it got on there, but it got me hooked, and I started looking for more music from them. Their music is more based towards Trevor McNevan's vocals. On most of the albums (Aside from their latest one), the instruments are just average. Discography Set It Off This was their first popular CD. It isn't really alternative rock like their later stuff is. This album is Rap-Rock Nu-Metal. A few people like this album best, but I can't stand it. There are some highlights, though, namingly "Puppet" and "When in Doubt." When in Doubt is the first song I heard by Thousand Foot Krutch. 5/10 Phenomenon Ah, this album is MUCH Better. It is alternative Rock with many hip-hop influnces from their last album, though there are no annoying raps in it. This is one of my favorite albums of all time. Highlights would be "Step To Me," "Phenomenon," "Last Words," and "Faith, Love, and Happiness," Though the whole album is incredible. 9.5/10 The Art of Breaking This was the first CD I heard by the band. They dropped all the hip-hop influnces here, and crafted a harder rock sound.. However, it is still a very good album. "Move" and "Absolute" are just plain hard, while "Breathe You In" Is slower, but just as good. It is a good listen from start to finish, except for the one song I consider filler ("Hand Grenade"). 7/10 The Flame In All Of Us The Flame In All Of Us was my most anticipated alum in 2007. The band kept their hard rock sound, but pulled it off much better. The instruments were the best of all the albums, though...it still wans't as good as Phenomenon. It is pretty dang close, though. They have their first acoustic song on there as well. English is my only language i'd claim to be fluent in. My French would be passable in most places up to a point, my German would get me by and I speak a tiny bit of Spanish. I've never really studied a language to be able to hold down a conversation in that language that would actually be useful in a foreign country. I did a French A-level last year but unless you want a discussion about politics or the media in France it isn't much help. When I get older, learning a few languages properly is something I definitely want to do.

Guitar: Epiphone Les Paul, as well as an Alexis Jumbo acoustic. My amps just a Roland 30W Cube COSM, with various in built effects which are okayish. I fancy getting a Digitech XP-100 Whammy-Wah at some point. I play a bit of all sorts really, a fair bit of White Stripes on the electric as well as some Pink Floyd. On the acoustic it's more sing-a-long type stuff, Oasis, Kooks etc. But really i'll just play whatever I can learn and sounds good.

Oh damn sorry about that, it's just they're so interesting you see, I can't help it. I don't judge people who don't read books, but there really is so much out there to read and discover through reading that I just sometimes feel a bit sorry for people who never take the time out to read, i just feel like they're missing out. Me? I'm fascinated by this world, which is why I mostly read factual books nowadays, instead of fiction, there's so much out there to learn and absorb from books and reading. I won't say i'm especially intelligent because I read, but I know my english was vastly improved when I was younger because I read a lot, and reading round a subject at school really helps your understanding.
