Spiderman 3 - you can't fault the visually stunning action scenes, but the dialogue jerked and plotwise there was too much going on for them to really treat any aspect of it properly. Okay, but the first is still the best by far.

Tough job nowadays man, any idea where you want to work? The city is hell for law, but some people enjoy it. Well luckily because I'm at Oxford the law firms are practically fighting each other to get us on board as soon as possible - hopefully I'll join one of the inns of court as soon as possible (hopefully the inner temple) and eventually join the Bar and in fact we have a presentation by them pretty soon (despite being in our 4th week of Law :lol: ) As to place, London would be excellent but I'm not sure about the strain - also so far constitutional law (sovereignty, separation of powers, doctrines of law that kind of thing) is probably my favourite topic so I may even end up working in Europe (the ECJ or ECHR possibly). But this is a very early stage :lol: not even a term in yet. Wow, if you're at Oxford you've got some job security when you complete your degree that's for sure. Constitutional law huh? That sounds pretty interesting. Probably less stressful than commerical law.

My plan, physics degree > find a job in physics, probably research or something at a university, as well as lecturing now and again. My dream job would be a professor at a good university, actively researching in cutting edge theoretical physics. Whether or not that's possible, we'll see. Or I might go work for a big company that pays for top physicists, IBM, NASA or something. Might end up moving to America. On a completely unrelated tangent, I've always thought i'd love to be a radio DJ.

The workplace is clearly not "fine" otherwise we wouldn't have a need for unions. I think you have a problem with unions run badly, if you've got something against people getting together and using their collective mass to try and campaign for better working conditions then clearly you've never been in a situation where the conditions are no good. Unions can have too much power, which is why I think Margaret Thatcher did the right thing by disbanding the coal miners unions in the 80's, but they're still necessary in many areas.

Or you just go backwards from the direction which you specified as forwards...

Guys, I appreciate some of this debate is someway relevant to aliens (abiogenesis etc.), but can we please leave the validity of evolution out of it?

This is a bit of a personal issue for me. I would actually completely disagree with that statement. Teenagers get wasted because of the way it feels (awesome). I would consider people who just drink a little bit to be the bad people, because thats a sign if alcohol addiction (not drinking for the affects , but rather because they want to) I think you need to rephrase that last bit. Drinking a little now and again because you like a drink is not alcohol addiction. It's enjoying the taste of alchohol (wine/beer etc.).

Not many people properly celebrate here like the Americans do. It's a very commercialised thing, but pumpkins are quite nice, and it's a good excuse for a party. I don't think i'm doing anything this year, but last year I went as Jimi Hendrix, complete with psychadelic clothing and (replica) Strat.

I've just watched the video, It is very moving, I agree, such a powerful song. Yeah, the video really helps you "get it", as in get what Johnny was feeling was he sang and arranged that and how he connected with the song.
