I've had my iPod for two or three years now, couldn't be happier with it really, and if I were to buy another I'd probably get one of the new "Classics", since it's likely to be the only player on the market that'll fit my music in it now and into the forseeable future (I have a lot of music). I suppose the only thing is it's lack of a radio, but you can get a mini attachment to stick one on, if I was desperate (tbh I've never really missed one).

Sorry, I appreciate my claims sounded a little over the top, but the fact is that Chernobyl was a poorly maintained, dangerously old reactor. Modern reactors are much, much safer, and although you're right in saying that no reactor is every 100% safe (due to human error), but if I remember correctly even with human error there are now failsafes which would present another kind of meltdown like that. I'm no nuclear physicist though. That's a completely false statistic. I was going to call the nuclear powered WW2 sub into question as well. However, American reactors favor Plutonium. One pound of plutonium is radioactive enough to kill every human being on Earth if it were distributed equally. Say in an explosion at a nuclear plant, where dust and smoke would carry it for hundreds of miles? So he is correct in saying that one submarine could kill all mankind on Earth if it were to meltdown. That's technically, another false statistic. Chernobyl was as you said a freak example, safety measures have improved a million-fold since then, so that kind of meltdown is virtually impossible in modern reactors.

A mathematic proof doesn't mean much to me unless there are some testable preidctions that come out of it. String theory is an elegant mathematical theory, but it's yet to be experimentally verified.

All I'm saying is that WE have this education available to us. I'm saying that it is unfair for us not to get some sort of break from working. Overworking is as bad as underworking. WE do have all this available. So why do we not cherish it and use it? Or is that wrong somehow. Everyone deserves an education, everyone deserves a break. Unfortunately there are those who cannot afford them. I'm saying we should cherish what we have. Those are completely different and unrelated things. I presume you're at high school, so your lessons can't be much longer than an hour, correct me if i'm wrong. Now an hour is a perfectly reasonable length of time to work for, having a 5 minute break after that is all you need really. If you're stimulated, and engaged in your learning an hour soon flies by, even two hours flies by. I don't see any correlation between having the right to an education and the right to a break in the middle of a lesson.

It isn't unfair. It's a school computer, you don't have a right to play games on it. If they want to give out that privilege they can, but if they don't you aren't missing anything, you just are gaining nothing. I hardly think it's fair for a student with nothing to do - homework and classwork - just to sit there and do nothing for the rest of the lesson. playing games is a way to avoid severe boredom. Boredom is what causes so many people try to misbehave. People want some fun. Not much to ask for. If you finish your work work ahead, its common sense. That doesn't always work. There are some classes you can't work ahead in. I agree with darkforaster on this. I know that the teacher has every right to keep us from playing games after our work is done but I do think it's pretty stupid to prevent a student from being rewarded when his work is done. It makes school just a little more enjoyable. I'd go nuts if every teacher in my school made us do nothing but more work after finishing the days assignment. Grumbling about not being able to play games in school seems to me to be totally spoilt behaviour, there are kids all over the world who'd give an arm and a leg for the kind of education you can get, and you're grumbling because of what? No games during school? Right.

I think you're more of a deist, believing in some kind of higher power/god, but not a specific god of an ancient culture.

Yeah, I mean god forbid you should actually be caught working instead of playing games in school. No sympathy from me, you're in school to learn, if you finish early tell them and see what they want you to do. They might be more relaxed if they know you've done the work.

As bad as they are, watch all the Scary Movie films, they've parodied a lot of the big scary films, and watching The Ring after seeing it parodied on Scary Movie I actually found myself chuckling along to various bits. Try and see the amusing side of them. Watch plenty, early in the day, in a brightly lit room, with lots of breaks for drinks and stuff. Just try and force yourself to realise that you are completely detached from what you're watching. I never used to be a fan of scary films, until some friends forced me to watch some which I'd heard were pretty bad. Sure, they got the adrenaline going, they'd be boring if they didn't, but they were good and didn't scar or anything .

I think some people's voices crack more than others. I've got a mate who's quite young for our year, but his voice has been cracking now and again for a year or two. Makes me chuckle. Why? Exactly. You can't prove that any action is actually right or wrong unless you believe in a source of absolute morality. Since that isn't true for most of this forum, it's impossible to classify this, or any other action, as wrong. So just because we don't believe in absolute sources of morality we're all moral relativists? I also like it how Defender's just completely ignored all the sensible posts rebutting his daft claims.
