I wonder if he chance of getting extra runes is applicable to the ZMI altar too? Any experiences in that area?
-
How about the logoff skill that allows you to concentrate on your homework better so that you can switch back to playing sooner?
-
I would have expected address details to be sent via the official RuneScape inbox messages. If tip.it makes the rs name of the winners known to Jagex, Jagex can get this information via the official inbox (if this information is unknown for this player.) Any other way would be suspect in my books (no offense to the tip.it crew)

Depending on your combat level, you might want to check out the living rock caverns. It has coal deposits close to a bank deposit so it ideal for people who can stand up against the living rock guardians.
-
Best way is to do a few trial runs yourself, for me I find that bringing noted Mith ores and noted Coal, making plates and alching them is giving me a profit, but then again: I did not buy the ores or nature runes.

But you must use Broad Bolts, at least if you're a ranger, to kill them... Face it, Jagex goofed. Nope, you did :) Rangers have been slaying Kurasks waaay before broad bolts were released. Every slayer master sells broad arrows for Kurask and Turoth tasks.

Like said before, I agree wholeheartedly that the thread subject is a ridiculous statement, but... You assume too much meili, in game most of the time 50% of my online friends are female, and that's not because I read tip.it. Populations' behavior does not compare that way. Please! Go back to school and take some statistics classes. You could just as well say that smokers have, on average, a lower IQ than non-smokers; still giving any selection of smokers, you can find another selection of non-smokers that is less intelligent. Or in the form of a joke: "The statistician waded through a stream with an average depth of 30 centimeters... He drowned!

Amen!

Duradel does set Aquanite tasks, I got a task of 160 last week from him.

Agreed, what makes Slayer fun is the diversity of getting different things to do. I am a slayer master already and guess what? I still take slayer tasks because its a much more fun way to get charms than to camp at waterfiends or nechreals or greater demons. You claim slayer is not buyable and I agree to a certain point. The people who try to shortcut their slayer tasks by using cannons as much as possible (being aggressive to players who slay in the same area) spend insane amounts of money on the skill, in my book that's buying a skill too.

Yes there are people who try to play the game the way you describe, you are not a dying breed. This is a game, play it the way you get the most fun / accomplishment out of it. I personally feel it's much more fun if I get my own resources. Like you I do not buy any skill. The fact that you get the feeling you are alone is simple; a lot of players are looking for shortcuts in reaching short-termed goals. While doing this they forget that if you are in the game for the whole experience you will have to collect your own logs / ores / fish / produce eventually. If you buy a resource early in the game, you set yourself up for tedious monotone grinding later on when you want to get your 99 levels in wood cut (months at barbarian willows) mining (months in the dessert quarry), etc (you get the idea). To answer your original question, mine the extra essence when your summoning allows you to ask an abyssal titan for help :-) Doing slayer tasks is another source of noted pure essence, not heaps but it adds up. (and to all the nay-Sayers here: I too have never bought a skill and my skill total is > 2100. I just get much more fun time out of my levels than people who try shortcuts to get a quick 99.)

wizard, non aggressive (non-pvp)

Yep, as far as i know, he is.

It comes down to a simple thing: just hang out and chat with people you like. I have quite a number of females in my runescape friends list and gender isn't an issue. Often after you know a person for a few weeks you can deduct from their replies / behavior what their gender and approximate age is, regardless of the name they choose and the gender type of their character. So, like a lot of others have said before me, don't hang out with people that are unpleasant to you. And don't try to make an issue of your gender. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the reactions you got would be just because you made it an issue and would be the same if you pressed being a male on an audience that isn't waiting for a gender discussion. Happy 'scaping! P.S. please don't drag people like blue back into our memories, they do not add to your topic and can turn people against you just for remembering the most rude, cheating, abusing player in ages (Remember Valen Drake? ...). Even if Andrew made the mistake of choosing blue to try out player mod powers in game. P.P.S. also the fact that most top crafters where female doesn't add much to this topic, most of them where level buyers and demanded to be paid for the simple action of crafting an amulet instead of providing a free service in line with the spirit of the game.

The merchant role is only a small portion of all the roles you can play in an RPG, helping people, looking for distractions with a few friends, adventuring, competing against others, copeing with situations you find yourself in when arriving at a place you planned some activity. All these and more involve other players. Therefore a multiplayer game is perfect for such activities :-) I guess I'm just not that attracted to running piramid scemes.

I am self sufficient. I find it much more fun to experience the full game. Buying resources off others does not give as much accomplishment as doing it all by (for) yourself. Sure it does take (much) more time getting your own resources, but that's what games are for; having fun while playing, not trying to beat the game system as quick as possible. Like Paul said years ago, adding a lever to get level 99 in an instant would ruin it. Using shortcuts (like buying all your resources) can be seen in the same spirit. I do use the G.E. sometimes to dump drops that I do not use myself (like granite mauls) but that's about all I use it for.

Please do not promote server hopping. It ruins the game for people who like to play RuneScape like an RPG and breaks the balance of the game's spawnrates.

I always thought death in rs too easy, I mean dying should take its toll on your mind too. It would be much better if on death you would lose up to 10% of the exp needed for your last level in a random skill. (In other words, you can lose up to 0.1 * (exp for current level - exp for previous level)) That way people with all 99 skills that get killed, have something to do again 8-) , and the old kamikaze style of playing has a downside which is missing at the moment.

Suqah is correct, proof: http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarti ... le_id=2758 look near the bottom of the article (with Q, without u-before-the-a :).

Of which you are obviously one... My remark was in context; the chests were used by mostly low level thieves - the majority of higher level thieves used pickpocketing as their way to get experience.
-
No-one? Can you explain why the Ardougne Paladin room was almost always full with pick-pocketters? Or why heroes were followed by thieves, or gnome children for that matter?

The skillers with a combat lvl of 3 are pures, and pures are silly imho. Real skillers do all parts of the skill themselves instead of playing a pyramid sceme in which you use the labor of others to advance a very small subset of your own skills at a time. Fletchers making bows from logs out of the G.E., Cooks preparing fish from the G.E., Crafters who make range armor G.E. dragon leathers, etc., I'm looking at you!

You could use superheat (and directly smith the items in the mine below falador.)

That person will have summoned at least a wolpertinger :D
