one of mine would definately be god bryan0 I met him when I was lv 41 crafting on free. I was doing something similar to that free gem cutting thing but instead I was offering jewerly for gems (getting the ore and everything) I have very little luck because so many people thought it was a scam (not that you can blame them) but he came along (at the time he was like 10-20 lvs lowere than me, somewhere around lv 30) with like 20 gems and let me make them into amulets and enchant them he continued doing this whenever he got gem. Now hes the richest player I know in the game and is lv 84 to my lv 72. second would be a password hacker I don't know who hacked my account right after I got my full addy for the first time. all he did was sold a few runes before I got the account back but it was still scary. 3rd would be demondblaze. I met him while he was recruting for a clan in alkahrid and I was doing the natures spirit quest I was tecinaclly too weak to join the clan based to their requirements but he got me in (the clan fell apart only a few weeks later primarily because of bad leadership) When I met him I had a dragonstone and me made it into a ring of wealth for me even though I was just some noob. 4th would be drakusofaard who helped me with the heros quest and has done ALOT of smithing for me (primarily making mith arrow heads) again he was a high lv person (lv 109) helping out a complete noob (I was lv 61 at the time I met him). I know who the 5th person would be but its too long for me to post right now.

The Legend of the Forum - [~3 Characters Needed!]

At this point Aleksander and company have started their trek to Entrana and have just met up with Marcus ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next morning Kumlekar set out for barbarian village to meet the dwarves. As he entered the village it neared midday. He immediately noticed the hustle and bustle of Dwarven smiths preparing for battle. Most of the barbarians, strangely, were absent. While he was walking though the village he noticed one of his old friends Burak Ironfang. Burak was a fairly good smith and not a bad fighter either. What made him stand out from other dwarfs though was his ability to accept other races that would normally be subject to the standard Dwarven racial prejudices (such as elves) and he accepted Kumlekar as a friend even though he was half-elven. Kumlekar called out to Burak, ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅBurak, good to see you. It̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s been a long time!̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâà -

this is just to get my character started I'll hook up with the party later Okay let me rewind a bit for me to start, this takes place right after the call for aid has been sent out from Draynor and the dwarves have sent a runner from barbarian village: As Kumlekar was relaxing in his favorite Varrok pub after another unsuccessful day of recruting adventurers. A man came running in red in the face and obviously tired shouting, ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅFalador is under attack!! Falador is under attack!!̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâà -

another character (sorry, this is my first time writing a fantasy story like this) Name: Kumlekar Race: Half-elf Gender: male Age: 64 (equivelent to about a huamn of the age of 30) Occupation: Assassin, woodsland scout standard outfit: full rouges with black fremnik cloak and a holy symbol to the elven gods of nature magic and repentance (note that these gods are only worshiiped in a very small region outside the area he was born and therefore are not well known) his prefered weapons are scimitar (his has some minor enchantment to make it on par with a rune scimitar even though it is made of mithral), a thin runite longsword, all of his weapons are extremely light weight compared to the average weapon of their types and the longsword was made specailly for him in kelagrim dagger with a non-lethal contact knockout posion made out of a unknown metal (it is extremely light and far more sturdy than its thin shape would imply) he also carries a full armament of other weapons hidden in his cloak including: a pouch of 50 mouth darts a war fan and 2 sai He grew up in a fairly unknown elven town far to the east of Tirannwn. His human mother had become stuck in elven lands with the closing of the passes between Tirannwn and Ardougne where she later married a poor elvish hunter who was known for his skill with all ranged weapons and scimitars). Kumlekar grew up in a loving environment and learned his fathers trades well (for a half-elf that is). This all changed one one cold morning when he was 20 (about the same as a 9 year old human). That day he was out in the woods with his father hunting and as they were returning home with their catch they saw flames comming up from the village. by the time they actually reached the village almost eveyone was dead including kumlekars mother but they did see the attacker. He was a tall man clad in black armor studded with [bleep]es and he had a huge flaming greatsword. Kumlekar's father went into a rage and attacked the man. Even with spending all his life prefecting his sword work Kumelkar's father was kill within seconds. the tall man then cast a spell and disapeared. By this point the fire had died down and kumlekar was able to search the area. Where the man had been standing was a talisman with a symbol of a lightning bolt going through a skull. For the next 30 years Kumlekar has taken mercenary jobs and bided his time while searching for any leads he can find on the talisman. During this time he has learned some basic magic, learned smithing tecniques from elves and dwarves alike, and prefected the arts of stealth and ranged combat (and hes not a bad cook from being on the road so much). recently he found a lead on the talisamn saying that it is a symbol of a cult located somewhere in mortania so he is currently residing in varrok attempting to put together an adventuring party to thourghly search the area for the cult and seak revenge on the murderer of his family. He would be more than willing to help anouther groups of adventurers complete a task only on the requirement that they in turn will help him complete his quest for revenge. (one word of warning he is so single minded that he may endanger a group of "friends" just to finish his quest.) -
I've heard that you get them more if you spend a long time killing maonsters but don't pick up drops.

It no longer gives an extra standard action per round, so no more dual-casting. Also, they took out Mass Haste and instead allowed Haste to target multiple friendlies, so it didn't actually become too weak. yeah so it is still a nice spell I see what your complaint was now
-
I personally liked 2nd edition but I understand you complaients I think they ruined the ranger (my favorite class) in 3.5 by giving it hide in plain sight which is the most un-realistic ability ever thought up (though a few stupid prestige classes had it in 3.5) What was wrong with haste? For what you said about the computer games. I understand your complaints about not having enough freedom to do what you want (try morrowind its not D&D based but its an extremely good game in that aspect) but I thought that most of the ones for pc were done extremely well but the console games took the fun of character creation (argueably the most important part of D&D) out of the game and even though I have not played the console games I do not see any way they could have made up for this. Where is the "plane shifter" class from? Also do you use a premade campaign setting or a homemade one (I use Forgotten Realms though I have practice making more than a few cities because I am always stuck being DM) The Plane Shifter is from the Manual of the Planes. We play a homebrew campaign setting, mostly because nobody feels like buying premade ones and the DM doesn't like to be restricted by setting-defined material. Sure, you can modify it, but you might as well make your own world. Haste was terrible in 3e because of the fact that it gave an extra action per round. For spellcasters, this meant a lot of extra artillery being hurled, and entire encounters being finished four or more rounds faster than they would have. It was downright unbalancing when you consider that a spell available to Wizards at 5th level and Sorcerers at 6th would allow you to cast two spells per round, where the most similar effect in 3.5e is a 17th/18th-level acquisition spell (Shapechange, Choker form). The whole Drizzt Do'Urden argument is pointless. I think it has been established long ago that people who play drow are more often than not Drizzt clones because they want to be "cool" or "original" by being a chaotic good drow wielding two scimitars and deep-seated emotional problems. Most of them top it off with little to no roleplaying whatsoever. Ok ok you win on the Dearmon N'a'shezbaernon argument. (you know you're in trouble if you know what that means lol) though the only drow character I made was a fairly unorginal preistess of Ellistree (spelling? too lazy to walk two steps and look it up) you've proved to me yet again I need to get manual of the planes and planar handbook. I use the forgotten Realms but most of my campaign is set in the underdark and an undeveloped continent where australia would be in rl which allows me to use the FR gods and some of the underdark cities but I also am able to do alot of city design myself (very little is set in faerun though I also use a bit of Kara-tur). I understand what you were saying about haste but how did they change it for 3.5? or did they get rid of it? (I hope not that was a classic spell)

D&D is NOT for geeks... its for nerds GET IT RIGHT PEOPLE!!

dark elves are always evil? Who's Drizzt Do-Urden then? (possibly the most well known character in D&D) Read the Dark elf trilogy by R.A. Salvatore (good author too) My point wasn't that dark elves are evil, but that many RPGs say stuff like that. I don't know what restrictions are in D&D, but I do know when I played Icewind Dale that if I was a certain race or class, I could only be a certain alignment, etc. sorry but the dark elf trilogy is good :D the main reason for alignment restrictions is that many classes don't work without them. For example a paladin is supposed to be a holy warrior devoted to justice it doesn't make sense for a paladin to be going around slaughtering people. Alignment restrictions for clerics are based on your deity (I think everyone agrees that that makes sense) Druids are supposed to be defenders of nature so they can't stray too far away from nuetrality (their orders don't want exterior motives getting in the way of their work) barbarians... well... a lawful barbarian??!! rouges, fighters, mages, socerors, and rangers are open with is nice (psions and physic warriors are too) and bards I don't remember (I mean how many people play bards?) I think 2nd edition had race restrictions but they took that away (though if you play and outsider your still going to have some problems if you don't follow those alignment settings, I mean, try playing a good bodak)
-
in general most of the classes became more powerful the ranger gets like 10 times as many abilities (including the cheapest ability in the game) they added new psionic attack and defense modes (a definite plus) and reduced some of the more obscure actions and turned them into free or move-equivelent actions
-
what you said about the expanding fireball is true and needed to be toned down but its still more realistic than what we have now (it can only get smaller not larger)
-
which theres 3 (did they make a 3rd console bauldurs gate? that would make it 4)

I thought we were talking about D&D not its electronic offshoots. (I like bauldurs gate 2: SOA)
-
unfortuanetly that question doesn't work any more (with 3rd and 3.5 comming out recently) I play 3rd even though I prefer 2nd (the one in which putting on armor makes armor class go down as you so beautifully put it)

~Discussion: Guys playing as Girl Characters?~
dragoncmd replied to Smavey's topic in General Discussion
first of all I admit I am guilty as charged (though I make no pretense of be a girl in game other than my character sprite) secondly another reason for the increase is probably people expirimenting after the make over mage has become free (I know I definitly took advantage of the barber, I needed a haircut) -
why can't people avoid this subject? it comes up too often but now that you've gotten me started... I personally would love to see updates on free every once in awhile (like 4 times a year) but members would still get mad. note that I am a member before calling me and f2p cheapskate that just want more quests without paying. (happens all too often)
