I don't get why people think MA is so different from regular combat. Regular combat is just as real-time-strategy as MA is. Only difference is you have to keep an eye on all 10 squads at once and it's harder to make sure every one of them is doing what you want it to do. And NO on the turn based. It would be the same as AoG and we don't need that. I think it's fine the way it is. Only thing that really needs fixed is the waiting room, really.

Don't lose sight of your RC goal! 85 is a long ways away but I know you can do it! I don't even have the patience to save up 10k gop points let alone 50k. If you can do that without batting an eyelash, you can get 85. =-p

I think the minigame is a success for one reason and one reason only: The rings. They are the strongest rings in runescape now and the onyx ring is so powerful compared to any ring before MA was released. Not only do you get +6 in all attack bonuses, making it great for hybriding at DK's, but the +6 to all defense bonuses makes it the best ring for defense in gwd and other places where you're being hit by multiple types of attacks.

It's been a long while since I've updated the blog, but here's a small achievement that took be a very long time to get. I've been really busy lately so Runescape's at the bottom of my list. Still, here is my latest: The game itself was amazing. I've never seen a situation where two teams die or leave and two teams are left and battle it out in Hoard. I would have won by killing except that the last two squads the other guy had were both light and all I had was heavy. So I just used 4 to gather gold and 1 to chase one of his two lights off the caves at all times. :)

I won't go searching for the exact dates for you, but if you want help go to Runescape.wikia.com and type in pretty much any update name and it'll give you the date of release for it. Hope it helps if you didn't already know it.

Am I the only one that thinks Jagex should better use their time than making such a big deal out of a bar in ardougne. Unless we get a Dragon Crossbow with it I am not going to care an ounce about this.

I disagree. And also, it's very possible to excavate the spots without having to teleport out and go back, and even as it stands, if you had to do that it would still be easy to get back within 2 minutes and excavate another world. It's great money. If I make it any easier you'll be looking at 1m profit an hour garanteed and that is was overpowered. True, but hypotheticaly speaking say you and me both have 99 I go into the KQ lair do my thing and tele out or world hop then you come along 2 mins later and it's gone what do you do? Sit around and wait in the KQ lair? It's not really an option. Come back every 5 mins? You don't know when that was used, do you? Or is it like farming were every person can see there own "stuff" so this problem wouldn't exsist but what about the spots were there is more than 1? Is that so you can level quicker? With mining this isn't really a problem cos I am pretty sure runite doesn't take any were near an hour to come back (although I might be wrong about this) I don't mean to pour water on your idea, I just want to make sure you have thought of everything :D I am not sure wether I am a fan or not :lol: Sorry. :) Well I have two points for you: Runite is worth 15k a rock. The Kalphite Queen SES can fetch you over a million in one rock, but more on average you'll probably get 100k gp per rock sample. And my second point is that if the guide in it's entirety is so detailed and thought out, don't you think I thought of the most profitable SES above most everything else in the guide? =-p I balanced things out. As I said, there is a way to not have to teleport out of the lair to be able to log out and log back in to another world, I just don't want to really give out all the secrets because then there's nothing left to be discovered. I made the guide like it was a real skill. Like you could go out and do it and figure out the best methods for yourself. I gave you the map, now you have to decipher it. Just trust me. If I tweaked anything more in favor of making the SES spots easier, you'd have a completely unbalanced and overpowered money maker, and that is not what I was aiming for with this. :| Fair enough but it is easy to over look things. slayer is probably one of the most profitable moneymakers in the game. what do you call all the drops you get on slayer tasks, and reward points. you might want to rethink your slayer needs to be profitable comment And do you have proof? The best (by highest average profit) slayer moneymaker are Spiritual Mages. And they don't make very much at all. I can easily list 10 methods that can make more money/hour. 1. Aviansies 2. Green Dragons 3. Sara GWD 4. DKS 5. TDz 6. 26k 7. Double nats 8. Double astrals 9. Making certain summoning scrolls (eg, Healing Aura, which makes 1m/hour as someone calculated before) 10. Rune mining 11. Flesh Crawlers (there's an extra bonus one in case you think one of the above "doesn't count" for whatever reason) I can add even more to the list if you want to take into account the worth of xp gained. Still think it's one of the best moneymakers? Ok, it's a decent moneymaker. It's respectable. But it's nowhere near good. And it's nowhere near good enough for the effort required to get 83 slayer. You can't browse other sites while slaying, or at least not effective enough. Sure you can talk and such. But you want "easy" moneymakers? Here's a list. All of them are easier or the same difficulty as abby demons. 1. Rune mining (only 15-30 seconds of attention are needed every 1-2 minutes, if done right, which isn't very hard) 2. Aviansies 3. Green Dragons 4. 26k (or at least the EP part of it) 5. Flesh Crawlers 6. Double Astrals (debatable, but fact remains that there's plenty of time to talk with other players.) 7. Merchant armor/cannon sets 8. Farming herbs 9. MTK 10. Star mining Your second paragraph is a little vague. "i average around 1 whip a day and many other items which accounts for 3m? which isn't so bad" Saying "a day" tells me nothing. I can gain 3m strength xp per day. Is that 125k xp per hour over 24 hours? Or is it 187k xp per hour over 16 hours? Or is that 1.5m xp per hour for 2 hours? It means nothing. If you told me the exact number of hours/minutes you spend killing Abyssals, including banking and other diversions such as world hopping, then we'd be getting somewhere. If you killed Abyssals for 6 hours, you'd get 500k per hour, which is decent, but not good. With the GWD comment, I can't say much since I was never a GWD'er. However, from sources that I read, Sara GWD is 1m per hour trio'd. TDz (solo!) yields ~15 kills per hour. The claw drop rate is 1/200. In 14 hours you'll have d claws, worth 33m. That means you made 2.3m per hour. That doesn't include getting armor lumps. And the costs? Not enough to make a sizeable dent in that 2.3m, and plus you'd have to consider the normal drops and lumps covering a portion of the costs. Sure it isn't "easy money", but I gave you 10 other ways to make "easy money" and get just as much, if not more, money than Slayer. I dunno, zaaps. I made over 250M from 1-99 Slayer doing all tasks + camping for a little bit at slayer only monsters like abyssal demons and dark beasts when bows were 3.7m each. (I got like 13 of them at that time.) Either way, slayer has accounted for at least half, if not more of all the total cash I've made in game. Yes, it took a while but it's also a very respected cape and 99 and I think that + the cash and charms (for 99 summoning) made along the way was worth more than monster hunting,

I think this poll is faulty in the sense that new slayer monsters is so similar to higher leveled slayer monsters, and likewise, either of those two options will almost always result in the option of "new weapons/armor." I want another option. Higher leveled slayer monsters that drop new armor/weapons. lol. Just could be me, but I wasn't satisfied with the options I was given.

Rants are usually angry tangents people going on for a long-winded period of time about something that yanks their chain. It makes me angry too, and I completely understand why you thought it. I didn't really specify how I was winning against him and it would be natural to think I was just camping or something. I don't do it because I know how frustrating (and generally useless) it really is. :lol:

I was 91 when summoning was released. From 91-99 Slayer I earned enough to get me from about 70-97 Summoning. (1-70 was waterfiends and ice bursting) So yeah, you will get 99 Slayer before Summoning, but who cares when you'll get most of 99 Summon paid for AND have that hot 99 Slayer. :)

It's all luck and depends on the total amount of seeds you plant, really. If you plant 50 seeds you could have a really bad couple of runs that result in those 50 seeds only averaging like 5.5 herbs each. But if you plant a good 500+ seeds you'll notice that the bad runs will always be negated by the great runs and you'll most likely end up with 6.5 herbs per seed. It's true that you need to farm a lot of seeds before you really see this all begin to happen. That's why when someone with a low farming level or who has admitted they don't plant many herb seeds says that herb farming is bad cash I don't take them seriously. Anyone who has really done their fair share of the farming of herbs knows about the average herbs per seed.

Then summoning becomes a desperately slow skill, like slayer. Which again emphasises it's impressiveness. Also people usually hit 99 slayer before 99 summoning and need to seek alternate methods. If you train Slayer and Summoning together you're actually saving 100s of hours of time. Since you are training slayer with summoning, it means that the time you would spend training summoning seperately is completely negated. It's true. I hit 99 Slayer and was only 97 Summoning. I had to burst and waterfiend for the rest but it was still a really cheap 99 compared to Prayer.

I was playing hoard, not conflict, and I seperate my squads to each of the caves. 2 on 2 caves and 3 on 2 caves, then when I see that one of the caves has a majority of the players on it, I take the squads from that cave and go to the less crowded ones to maximise my earnings that game. In conflict, I am not a camper, I get in the action since I know that games will only last longer when you camp. (And anyway, conflict isn't the best way to earn rank unless you have a clan that does the chompa method, and even then it's random.) And 3rkid, get over it. You had a tif with me before and you're using that to pass judgments on something about me you know nothing about. You can't assume you know how I play a strategy-based game just because you don't like me. lol. Either way, this is a rant, I made it because that's what rant forums are for. I didn't post it in general discussion or anywhere else because I expected there to be a complete massive discussion on it. I asked for people to post similar situations, not really for people like 3rkid and RayOxide to come spray their negativity all over it. lol. You're more than welcome to if you want, though, really. I'll just ignore it after this. :|

If you earn all charms through slayer (which you should) then summoning will cost you nothing. In fact, you'll probably profit like I did.

I agree fully with pinkbullet. It's laziness and it just shows that people aren't learning anything in schools. I don't care if this is a game and I don't care if I know what they mean, fact of the matter is, it shows how immature they are. You don't usually see an ad on Craigslist for an automobile that says, "SELL HONDA CIVIC!" Who would want to buy a car from someone who won't even take the time to type 3 more letters. Laziness should not be rewarded or encouraged. On top of this, I don't think it should be overlooked and accepted. If you have the full potential and capability to spell and use correct grammar, then there is no reason for you to be abbreviating a word by 3 letters. People will disagree, but I don't talk to people who use chat speak or leet speak online unless I know they don't have the best grammar in real life or they are foreign. THIS guy that pinkbullet has mentioned, clearly can speak above a 3rd grade level and chooses not to. That loses all respect from me. And yeah, who cares about who I respect, but it still means I won't be helping you out if you ask me for something in chat or leet speak.

No no. I'm very aware and I've been apart of the internet nastiness for over 10 years. I'm just saying that it's funny because unlike most cases in Runescape, you don't need a higher level or rank to be able to "function the best" at the game. In fishing, someone with 99 fishing will fish faster than someone with 85. In slayer, someone with 90 Slayer can slay Dark Beasts, anyone level 84 or below cannot. But in MA, your strategy has nothing to do with your rank or levels. This is the only minigame of it's kind in Runescape and never before has there really been a "real" strategy game or area like this in Runescape. Someone with only rank 5 could easily beat out the top MA player if they're better at these kinds of games.

Ok, so I was just at World 76 playing Mobilising Armies, trying to get my rank up. I'm only rank 74 right now simply because I really don't have the time anymore to play 10 hours a day and get 75+ ranks per day. Well, this guy in the 200+ rank clothing was playing Hoard with me and 2 other people, and was attacking people, apparently thinking it is the best strategy for the game. Well, needless to say, he lost and I won by about 25k gp. He comes up to me after the game as I am buying more special units and says, "I let u live," and runs off to the recruitment area to revive some of his dead squads. I'm thinking, "What? You LET me live?" How very arrogant, right? Perhaps I won the game because I was simply better at coming up with a strategy for the current situations I was in. Well, I play another game. I end up playing with the sam guy again, and again, I win by about 20k gp. He says nothing this time, and neither do I, but I am secretly laughing inside my head that a guy with such talk has absolutely no walk to back it up. Well, third game comes around, and once more I get him in a game with me. The same snob in the same jade-colored clothing with the same lame attacking strategy. Well, I win again, this time by more than 30k gp, and I thinking, "Wow...he's really bad at this. He won't learn from his mistakes about combat in hoard." So I pm him and say, "Wow, you're letting me live a lot today, huh?" and immediately I get a barrage of insults and ill-tempered retorts, like "I was on the phone with my gf, wtf do you want from me, noob?" and "Ur a ****** junior cadet. If I was paying attention I could beat u everytime." Now I'm mad. "Excuse me," I say. "Maybe the reason you're losing is because your attacking strategy isn't enough to let you win hoard. And futhermore, you don't need to get nasty with me. You were the one with the original jerk comment, not me." And with that said he goes, "Whatever, ur not worth it, noob." and he puts me on ignore. Ok...so I'm sitting there going, "Really? That was just dumb." My point is, people in MA reflect what usually is said about high levels in combat in the "real rs world." There are people who normally don't get the spotlight because they don't like training combat or whatever their preference is, but because a game gets released were you can show off your rank with some clothing they automatically get an ego boost for the worst. Now, in combat and such, I can truthfully say that I know more about what God Wars is like over someone who can't get in, but in Mobilising Armies, it's the same 4 games and you can play them at the lowest ranks. This guy is assuming because he's over rank 200 that it automatically means his strategies are better than everyone else's. I think that's really ingorant. Yes, I'm in the navy blue MA clothing, and yes my rank is only 74, but apparently when put next to this supposed "master of MA" my way of playing hoard beats his. In his mind though, I am just a noob not worth his time because I can't wear his pretty jade clothing. :wall: Has anyone else encounted people like this while playing the minigame? So far he has been the only person who has given me such rude behavior but I'm sure others have met some people just like this.
