  1. I don't go out of my way to help people and I NEVER give out items or cash. I figure if someone is asking for it, it just means they're too lazy to figure out how to get it themselves. That's an insult to ME. They may as well say, "Hey! I'm too lazy to work for 5k gp but since you worked for it you should just give it to me since you've got way more than that anyway!" It frustrates me. I'm not mean about it, but I will give them a blunt no and tell them to go earn it. That's not uncalled for or mean, it's just a simple answer with advice attached. If they choose to see it as you being a jerk, that is their issue.
  2. *wipes sweat off forehead* Phew. I was thinking I might have had to go kick some jagex booty if we didn't get better booty. =-p Oh damn, commander is the Rank 100 reward. Yeah, it seems this is the end of the line. Sorry. :( NoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoooooooo!

  4. Correct me if I am wrong, but don't you need Rank 400 to become Level 5? If so, why does it seem that Rank 300 is the end of the reward tower? If that's true then how lame. If I am going up 100 more ranks after already getting 300 then I want there to be an incentive other than slightly stronger squads. That's just me though.
  5. No, because patches only die about 1/8th of the time. Trem, you're really just being stubborn and a grump, to be honest here. Not only do all your arguments not retain much but then you try to say we're playing some imaginary game other than the one you play. Well we're telling you that general population's statistics > one person's unwillingness to try something new. You know very well that you wouldn't plant just 2 herbs and even if you did, as d jay pointed out, herbs only die about 10% of the time anyway. You'd only have an average of 5 if you only planted 2 seeds and one died and one gave 10 and you NEVER planted seeds again. We all know you haven't done this, so we all know you didn't get an average of 5 herbs.
  6. If you don't see the point in MA then you can't possibly see the point in any of minigame in rs. Castle Wars, Stealing Creation, Pest Control, Soul Wars, Clan Wars, Bounty Hunter...all completely pointless and a waste of space. (Using your logic) It's a new strategy game with new rewards. It's actually really fun if you manage to get games going in a quick manner, and it's also the source for the best rings in the game for combat. And who knows what the higher levels will yield for other rewards. There may be rewards that are amazing that we don't know of yet because you need rank 400+ to achieve them.
  7. Just had a pretty amazing run with my 1 Snapdragon/4 Toadflax method: I spent 54,000 total on 1 snap and 4 toadflax seeds. This run I harvested 223,000 gp in herbs, making the profit for the run about 169,000 gp. :) So to people trying to say it's not good cash, I think you're full of it.
  8. Why is toadflax good? Toadflax is 1k a seed and the herbs are about 2.3k each. So assuming you get an average of 6.5 herbs per seed you make about 14,000 gp profit per seed. Multiply that by 5 seeds and you've got about 70k profit per run. Not as good as snaps, but still decent. Sometimes what I do is plant 1 snap seed in tollheim and plant 4 toadflax seeds, so if a toadflax dies I still won't lose much cash but I still get a snapdragon in. It really depends on how much cash you have to set aside to buy a bunch of snap seeds. For example, I just recently used all my cash (literally) to buy 99 ranged in chins (which I still have yet to use) and so what I did was make some cash through rc and bought 5 snap and 20 toadflax seeds. I use my 1 snap and 4 toadflax seed method and now I have enough to buy 15+ snap seeds. It's just something I do and isn't the fastest way for cash through farming but I like the feeling of using money made FROM farming FOR farming.
  9. Fair amount of profit. I've been farming them. Like 9k for each herb and 39k for each seed. Therefore ~290k in herbs per run, counting deaths, and 195k in costs. So it's not as good as snaps, but hey, it's like half the level, which is like 1/5 of the farming xp required... That's still an average of 100,000 profit per run with the 6.5 herb per seed average. Snaps are better, sure, but not by much. Point is, if you want great profit from herb farming you can do these: Snapdragon > Ranarr > Toadflax > Spirit Weed (Haven't checked this in a while. It used to be)
  10. its normally any time after lunch, 2-4pm BST is when they seem to do them most tho. So maybe about 7-9am my time.
  11. Does Jagex always launch updates at certain times? I remember someone mentioned setting their alarm for 7am or something. Is that true? I'm rarely ever on when updates happen so I have no idea. It'd be nice to know because if it's that huge of an update it'd be nice to be on when it happens.
  12. To be honest, guys, Tremblake probably hasn't farmed many herb seeds and he took one or two bad runs and assumed that was the average. For those of us that farm hundres up to thousands of seeds, we know the average is between 6.5 - 7 herbs per seed, meaning you will always average by doing pretty much all seeds, especially snaps and ranarr.
  13. I don't think it's a pun for a music cape. I just think it's sarcasm. They said it'll be a low key update to bring your hopes down only to release a huge update and increase the excitement and "surprise." lol.
  14. I'm surprised that someone of your level is actually arguing herbs being great cash. I do snapdragons, 5 at a time, and I always profit 50-150k per run. For 5 minutes of work between a slayer task or while runecrafting or something, it's quite a lot of money. Over the past year alone I've made at least 20m off herb farming alone, which outweighs what I've spent to train the skill with magic trees and such. I say how it really is, not what the collective opinion on tipit thinks it is. Hell the collective opinion on tipit rose up in arms on how expensive and useless farming for the first year it was out. Its too bad it public opinion sways like dandelions in the breeze, but its quite natural. I could make 20mil a year spinning flax, whats the difference in farming herbs because both won't get you 99 in their respective skills. I'm saying how it really is, trem. I have planted thousands of herb seeds and i always average at least 6 herbs per allotment. For only 5 minutes of work every 75 minutes (or whenever you want to harvest) it is still some of the best cash in the game for a skill, almost even beating out rune mining. And your flax example is faulty because we all know 20m profit from farming would take a astronomically smaller amount of total time actually farming than spinning flax into bowstring would. And it's not always about the 99's, to be honest. If you're a person that would prefer to make cash with skilling rather than through boss killing or 26king, then farming is one of the best ways to do it. Plus, if you mine rune + farm 5 snapdragon seeds per 75 minutes, it's very possible to make 600-750k profit per hour. I've done it loads of times. Thing is, farming is the only skill you can train while you train other skills (combat and slayer doesn't count since you have to train it that way), on top of adding profit to the profit you're already making (or even not). You can have an opinion, that's fine, but if you're using magical secateurs along with supercompost, you'll be getting an average of 6.5 herbs an hour. This has been the general number for most anyone I've ever spoken to about the skill, and also has been the number I have seen myself, firsthand, in the most likely 2,000+ seeds I've harvested. Yes, the die, but they won't die often enough to lose money or to have you just come out even. If that's the cash and you're seeing no profit, then chances are you're doing something wrong, or you're very unlucky. Or it could be you just haven't harvested enough of them. Sometimes you'll get a bad run of maybe 25 herbs but more often then not you'll get runs of 40 herbs or more. On average it's about 32 herbs a run though.

  16. You could have just been nice and directed him to the forum instead of being nasty. :|
  17. 10/10 - 2/10 for using the cliche ice with that line = 8/10. =-p Good job though. I remember 94 mage was a really great level to achieve for me. I liked barraging people at cw with it. Just don't blow too much cash on it like I did. lol.
  18. You are absolutely right, but unfortunately, most people (especially in high school) don't accept people who are different and will make fun of them for that reason. Does that make them stupid and annoying? Yes. Should you ignore them for it? Yes. But unless you want to spend the rest of high school alone, the best way is just hide the fact that you play. And if they do find out, tell them a couple of months later you quit ... If you really feel that way then either you are very, VERY insecure with yourself or you just have the worst friends ever. Real friends accept you for who you are, and honestly, if you can't be who you really are in front of the world than you're just a coward. My opinion, though.
  19. Or it could just be that most players now are all about being better than the next guy and will make it known in a spiteful way. I'm very social, I have tons of friends on runescape and hundreds more in real life, and I am not the least bit callous. Matter is that people lie about their levels or try to jab you in the eye with "my wc is better than your wc," just to try to prove they are better than you in something. Makes them feel special. I don't know why, but it does.
  20. +1 (Well, +0 to the rate XD) If you are disgusted why do you check here EVERY SINGLE DAY and then still post? You rant about something that is 100% avoidable. If you don't like the forums then gtfo them. You sound very stuck up; you talk down to people you don't know and assert yourself and how 'disgusted' you are with people over the internet when nobody is forcing you to come here. Don't act like you're better than everybody and come here and tell everybody how bad they are and that you are better then them, because nobody cares. Also, you actually aren't better than them. So, anyway, if you don't like the forums then leave. Nobody is forcing you to post your achievement that over 85,000 people have. Have a good day  You do not understand the concept of a community at all. And I am not stuck up at all. Im telling people they should be wary of the way they treat others. And obviously some people care, I have recieved several pms of people who agree with me and thanked me for sticking up to the people who think they are all that. I also have gained more evidence to backup my case. I am smithing in world 99 edge. Some people from this very thread have flamed me in public, telling me my achievement is worthless, etc etc. /fail to you @whocares that was the general idea \ You're at fault for reacting to everybody. If you didn't care about your low rates (which you shouldn't, because the achievement sucks and MANY people gave MANY reasons explaining their low rate) then this wouldn't be a big deal. Personally I think this thread is HILARIOUS because you are so stuck up and react in such an obnoxious way to the people who rate your not-so-amazing achievement just as it should be rated: not-so-amazingly. So, lose the attitude, stop caring what people say so much, and go get 99. It was my favorite skill and my xp will show you that (19,480,251). Also, chill out, it's the internet XD Most people here are just messing with you and your reactions are very funny so it entices them to mess with you more. To be honest, he's not the one with the attitude. Oh, and the rate is in the eye of the beholder. Just like everything in life is. The point he's making is that everyone is entitely to their opinion, but NEVER should it be okay for you to be mean about something. It just makes you look like a child who hasn't learned how to behave and play nice with the other kids. There used to be a time on these forums when no matter the achievement people would be supportive and constructive, and would rate your achievement based on the special-factor it had to the player who achieved it, or how long it's been a goal of theirs for. Now everyone rates based on the high scores and how many people have that achievement. Well, that's just stupid, because if that were true I would give low rates to anyone under total rank 1 in runescape. "Well, you're not number 1 on the high scores, so 1/10 tbh because you could be way better."
  21. you've been here for 4 years and i'm surprised you don't know this subforum doesn't give post count I don't keep track of which ones do, to be honest. Unlike most I really don't care what my postcount is or isn't. Last time I checked I had about 950. Apparently since then I've gained about 300 but I never knew until today because I don't care about that enough to check. And if I were full of myself I wouldn't be defending the original poster and trying to support positive posts on the forums. To be honest, you're the one coming into a conversation between two people and slapping down the "greater than" sign like it's going to prove something, when all it's really doing is just proving the original thought on the thread about people who can't restrain themselves from posting negativity that's not wanted or needed. I just think it's funny how I come here to defend good manners and people who are nice to others on forums, and because of this I get told I'm the one trolling and making no sense. Well, ok. Think that way, but it's not like you're going to chase me away from anything. I'll post the way I post, and you can post the way you post, but please keep the pettiness away from me. I didn't come here to argue with you; only to come and support the author of the thread. If you want to argue, then we can take it to the debate forums for something. :
  22. If you want a fast 99, get Thieving. I love the cape too, so that's always a bonus. At 91+ you'll earn over 210k exp an hour at Pyramid Plunder with the chances of Pharoah's Sceptres. If you blackjack then I believe about 250k+ an hour is obtainable. Either way, you're getting crazy exp and you'll speed through the levels. I agree on the all 70+ thing, too. If you want, get summoning up to 68 through waterfiends or something, and then take the bunyip and use it on slayer tasks to get the rest for 70. Or do it all through slayer. Do whatever, really! =-p I like the roundness of the stats though. You sort of remind me of myself and my stats at those levels. I like to keep things even as possible.
  23. 10/10 Wish I had the patience to save up enough cash for a red, let alone a blue. I have a weakness for tossing all of my cash into skilling. Most cash I've ever owned in raw gp was 65,000,000 and it immediately went into d bones for 99 prayer way back when.
  24. You're harassing me with negativity that really isn't needed or appropriate. And furthermore, the picture was to lighten his spirit. He obviously is upset that people are so mean here. I'm sorry if you think I am trying to look cool, but to be quite honest, I am not a child and I don't need your approval. My goal wasn't to look cool so much as it was to maybe make someone smile. I'm sorry that concept's beyond you. :|
