  1. No. If it's been a week for the top person to get 80, which is 2,000,000 exp, you have to factor in they have only been gaining (we assume) their top exp per day as of the day they got level 69. From now on, we'll probably see the top people over level 69 pulling around 3,000,000+ exp a week, meaning the first 99 will probably be within a month of the skills release. I'll put my money on that. Now, who knows when they're release the new levels to Daemonheim. If they release the next batch before the first 99, expect the first 99 to be even SOONER than my above guess.
  2. I've got the long term goal of getting 99 in every F2P skill. If I had to get 120 (with 104M XP), I'd quit before I got to level 100. The experience rates are too slow, and I actually have a life. Tbh, if you have a long term goal of all 99 f2p skills, your last sentence is debateable. Also, to add to the thread, the exp will scale with level, I'm sure. Past level 99 the exp you will earn per dungeon will continue to grow, so who knows...it might be very achieveable to get 300k+ exp an hour from this skill at a certain point. We don't really know at the moment. Give it time.

  4. They already are two seperate games. P2P is far more complex and rich in content than F2P. F2P is the RS for dummies version Having said that Jagex should really do more to help new players entering members I had friends to show me the ropes or else I would have been lost and would have quit members Wait wait...you believe RS is complex? Oh sweet jesus.
  5. See, here's the thing. I retired from Runescape because we weren't getting enough "High Level Updates," and I had already almost maxed out half my skills in level. I ended up getting in WoW and while I have to say it is far and beyond more fun for me to play than Runescape (despite my long term paying time of RS) there's something a lot of people who only play RS exclusively don't really see. It's not always about the high level content. I've learned this now. WoW tends to focus more on the end game stuff, always releasing new patches with new raids and higher level gear, which is great, but with the release of Cataclysm, they are going back and redoing some of the older content to make it more fresh and exciting for veterans who might want a break from end game stuff, as well as new players experiencing it for the first time. My point is that you should all be happy that Jagex is giving the free level of the game some content finally. I mean, come on guys...they barely get anything as it is, and if Jagex just keeps releasing more and more members content, and never updates the free game, eventually there will be such a gap in difference between the members areas and the free areas that they will be completely two seperate games. Why? There's no need for that. You've had a week where free players got an update. So what? Surely you guys can find plenty to do in RS without having an update every week? If not, maybe you're playing the wrong game. P.S. I am not biased towards RS since my play time with WoW. I enjoy RS and it will always be an rpg I love and will probably eventually come back to. I'm just saying I've been on both sides of the fence and from my perspective a lot of you are acting like spoiled children about something that really isn't such a large deal. Hate me, like me. I'm just putting in my 2 cents.
  6. This would be a good guess, except World of Warcraft already has a pretty damn similar system going on, which means your idea is moot since this idea apparently "hasn't been done before." (Yes, we'll see about that when it's released, Jagex.)
  7. I'm going to say fake for the obvious few reasons as the outdated skill icons, the odd font and the great inconsistency with the date and time and capitalization. As people have said, it's easy to fake something like this, and until I get a URL linking to the RS official website, I won't buy this.
  8. Ok...so here's the deal. I started playing World of Warcraft and got addicted right away. I ended up buying the classic game and played until maxed, then I tried out the Burning Crusade expansion trial , which still actually has 3 or 4 days left. Once that runs out, I will probably stop playing WoW for a while until I have the money to afford the $15.00 a month. In the meantime, I am back on Runescape for as long as I can handle it. I played a lot today, more than I have in over a month. Who knows how long it'll keep up. The high level content updates have been keeping me on. However, real life and finding work are most important so this very last farming level will take a while, especially since I have absolutely NO MORE tree seeds left. I will do the rest of the level with strictly Watermelon and Torstol Seeds. Wish me luck!
  9. I don't feel the need to have parties. I've only held one party my during my entire RS playing time and that was for my first 99, which was cooking. I got it back before skillscapes and was around the first 2,500 to get it. That's when any 99 was a real achievement, even though I will admit it still only took about 3 days to go from 85-99. Now, I hate parties and I find no point. I didn't even have a party for 99 Slayer and that is one of the hardest 99s to get AND I took years to get it. I think going straight for a 99 is a good goal, but I also don't think you should be discouraged if you don't make it there in one go. Most people, myself included, don't.
  10. With 99 Thieving, I can tell you 1,000% that they work. I use them whenever I pickpocket master farmers or ardougne knights or anything of the like, and I failed about 20% less than I would without them, and since I rarely fail anyway on those NPCs without them, it makes a HUGE difference when you almost cannot fail. (You'll fail every couple of minutes or more.)
  11. The features are nice, but in my opinion are not worth it since now the forum is ugly and generic. I don't enjoy visiting the forums much now because it's not as easy on the eyes. I hope you guys plan to create some custom skins similar to the old feel. That's what made the forums special, and now they are just like any other forum out there.
  12. The thing is, the defense from the slayer helm comes from the black mask, which is melee based. This is magic and ranged based, and so I think it's best to keep the melee defense pretty much out of it. Rangers and mages (especially mages) typically aren't geared for high defense, but for safe spots and going up against the weak side of the triangle to them. Now, I know there is armor out there for ranged that has high melee defense...but those are are typically things like the high end armor which cost 5M+ and up. I will change the auto cast. Thank you spotting it. :)
  13. Only skillcapes really catch a second glance from me. The hard ones like Slayer, Mining, Runecrafting and Agility. Occasionally you'll see the guy in 3rd Age + Divine Spirit Shield + Blue Partyhat...and that always amazes me, but more than often just makes me angry because I have such a hard time making money and people who've got a couple million can make like 15m more a day just merchanting.
  14. It's not supposed to be easy though. You just have to have quicker reactions now, which is perfectly fine because Jad was too easy in the first place. You. Are. Missing. The. Point. You have to be able to use prayer to kill jad. The only other real method is Vengeance method, but even then you have a miniscule chance to successfully get it right. I'm talking maybe 1/20 tries. Jad was designed to be killable by people who have mastered prayer switching, and that is how he was since day one. If you don't know that, and if you seriously believe that he's meant to be killed without it then you are highly misguided.
  15. So I got this a few days ago but was too lazy to post it. Really I'm just posting it now for the bump. =-p P.S. I've run out of Magic Trees. I still have palm trees, though, and now I have added calquat trees to the mix, so even though the rest of the experience is going to be considerably slower than the previous experience, hopefully it won't be TOO bad. If I can manage to stick to my guns and harvest as many watermelon/torstol runs each day as I'd like, then maybe expect 99 in about 2 weeks.
  16. What is a challenge if you can have your hand held while undertaking it? It's up to you to adapt to the change or just go without the cape. Don't think you understand...Prayer switching has been slowed down, meaning he'll sometimes hit you even if you've put up the right prayer. Thats not a challenge, thats impossible. Unless you're telling me you can kill jad without prayer? vls, vengence its been done http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHH60dqWfGA Let's be realistic, though. He's killed jad dozens of times with dozens of methods. For most people, just killing him the regular way is a challenge, and now thanks to Jagex you have to be really lucky and hope the prayer doesn't take too long to switch over. No matter what, Jagex has broken a LOT of the game by adding this so called improvement of an engine. They've lagged their game, all the colors in the item avatars are dull now and some items are off center (take a look at the scarecrow) and the time it takes to harvest herbs and fruits has nearly doubled. These are only just a few examples, but the game is actually broken right now in many aspects, and I am astounded that they aren't either fixing it asap or going back to Runetek4 while they work the kinks out of 5. If it weren't for the fact that I want 99 Farming, I'd probably have cancelled by subscription by now. With each update it's getting more annoying and more annoying to play alongside all these bugs they keeps letting into the game.
  17. My initial reaction: Whoooaaaaaaaa.... My reaction now: Whoooaaaaaaaa....
  18. Nope. It's far easier getting your next 99s because after the first one or two 99s levels 1-90 seem like a complete joke. Anything under 400-500k for 1 level almost seems laughable after having to get 1,200,000 exp for 1 single level...especially if one of your 99s is a hard to obtain one like Slayer, Runecrafting or Mining. 1,200,000 Slayer exp for me was the largest level challenge to date, so most levels after getting that seem like pie.
  19. I do think that the more skills the better, but I'm not pissed about it. I'm glad it's F2P. I'll be to try it out and boost my total level. :) Skill X is f2p? Yes, the new skill will be free-to-play as well as members. :)
  20. Am I the only one that's actually pissed about it being so long since a new skills was released? By the time a new skill is released I feel like it will have been far over 2 years since Summoning, and to me, that just seems ridiculously long, especially since I'm coming up to my last 125 levels and they sure as hell don't come quickly. I need something new to train! Of course I'll continue to train old skills, but new skills are what keep me playing, and as of late the lack of a new skill has actually made me become a little bored with playing. *Sigh* Maybe I'll wait it out a couple months, otherwise I'll switch to WoW in the meantime. lol. (I can hear the cries of anti-WoW players now.) Really, though...I am secretly hoping that it was a hint at a new skill even though Andrew denied it. He also said it is very secretive and he really really can't even hint about it...so why would he admit to us that the supposed glitch with the high scores was actually a leak on a new skill? This is only the optimistic side of me speaking. =-p
  21. Unfortunetly, no, I did not make them myself. =-p I think it is safe to keep the sword at whip speed, simply because the reason I made the sword in the first place was to find a better alternative to the whip. The whip has had its reign for 5 years now. Time to find a better whip speed weapon. And if you want to justify it, we could even say that since the sword has magical properties, it is much lighter than most other swords its size.
  22. That makes more sense, fenrir. I see what you were getting at now, and I'm glad there's someone else on these forums who I can have a small "chat" with that won't immediately jump and attack me for speaking my mind.
  23. Actually I just originally had the main idea, which was to excavate rock samples and clean them for loot. I then decided, "Let's make Archaeology," and sat down at my laptop for a total of around 10 hours and wrote a large portion on this. I had my friends proof read it and help me balance some overpowered stuff out, and presto...Archaeology. Now, since it's release around 2 years ago, I had added on a few sections, like the Private Digsites, Summoning Familiars and Archaeological dangers. Whether I add more or not, I can't honestly say for sure, but I'm thinking the guide in itself is very "complete" as is. It will probably be left like this unless I just tweak a tiny thing here or there.
  24. Well, obviously, fenrir. I think what you're saying is already common sense among us. We already get that. What I'm still going to disagree with you on is who the bigger person in a debate is. If you are able to defend your own beliefs, but allow others to have the chance to explain their side, and then unbiasly decide if they have a legitimate argument, then you've sucessfully won your half of the debate. I beg to differ that winning a debate means to ultimately be the correct one. Debating is not about winning. It's about two people with opposing or slightly different views coming together to find the real truth in the topic at hand. Where people go wrong is when they believe that debating is arguing your point to try to smash your opinion into the other person, and that you've failed if you haven't done so. I believe you've done your job so long as you've defended your opinions and kept to your gut, but also to allow room for improvement. No one is perfect. No one knows everything. If you close off even slightly then you're going to view the world in black and white. Open up, but be smart enough to know when your mind is being warped just because the other person wants you to believe what they believe only because they believe it...not because it's ultimately the truth. It's very subjective...but it's better to remain open minded than closed. Your more of a target to hurt and manipulation, but closing yourself off means you're not going to truly understand the world.
  25. Yes. That's how I took it. :)
