And now you're wasting more thread space by talking about something that happened months ago. That's a real way to show you're much better. lol.

If all you care about is winning a debate, then you should never enter one in the first place. Getting the last word in? That's a different story. \ I hope you're not serious. That's a really immature thing to say. And he meant that you'll win because no matter if you're wrong or not in the debate, keeping an open mind means you'll be mature enough to accept that the other person was right, and therefore, are a better person than you would have been having the closed mind, and "win."

I'm kind of in love with your hair, kay? lol.

[hide=] Rofl, I would commit suicide if i didn't play a game at age 20. That said, I have read a few other rants like this and I may just be 16 years old but I think that people have the capacity to be mature at my age, its all about getting over hating.... something a lot of the online community cant seem to do -.- If you are a hater you will always come off as immature in my book so I treat everything with an open mind. For example I used to be a very militant pure hater but I have since seen the light and realized that different people play different in my book (I am not calling you a hater here as you have clearly won a logical argument, the you is a reference). On that note, I love to talk (especially to prove my maturity point) so if you want to drop me a line in game, just send me a pm mentioning tipit \ [/hide] That was actually a nice thing to read for a change. The thing is, you understand that people make mistakes and take immature routes sometimes, but it's important to learn from them and grow as a person. Some people don't mature as they age, and some mature very quickly. I think what makes a person mature is the ability to have an open mind, evaluate themselves from an honest point of view, and to learn from mistakes they have made in the past. This kid clearly knew he was wrong, but because he was so young (clearly by the way he spoke of me being 20 as "old." Please...20 is still very VERY young.) he felt backed in and instead of conceding and admitting he lied, he took the lie further and further as if that would convince me he really was being truthful. In other words, when a child lies, and a parent or other authorative figure catches them in the lie and gives them the chance to come clean about it, the child will often lie because they think they are smart enough to outsmart someone who clearly already knows they are lying. Children don't like to be wrong. They won't admit their faults. Just like this kid wouldn't admit his. Granted, I shouldn't have argued with him after a certain point, but as I said once before, the moment he started to take personal jabs at me as a person, it grew to something I just didn't think was fair to let go of. Maybe that was wrong of me, but I don't know, to be honest. It can go both ways.

I'm kind of hating the woodcutting/firemaking training alongside Farming, but they all are ridiculously closer to 99 than my other skills, and once they're done, they're done so I'll never have to touch them again. I will probably get 99 Farming before wc and fm at this rate, however. -

Me too. WoW seems to understand. They're releasing it in their Cataclysm expansion. Get on it, Runescape. Get on it. lol. -
So that said, an average game including waiting time would be about 9 minutes each. That's 6.66 games an hour. But since you can't only play .66 of a game, and since those games are so fast you wouldn't neccessarily even make 20 points per game, I would say it is not impossible to make more than 5-6 tools per HOUR. This just further supports my original claim to this kid, which was that he's lying through his teeth...which...you know, we all are already aware of, but I like to have support to back up my claims. lol.

96 Farming today. :) That one took me 4 days to get, and I've been slacking MAJORLY. I could have gotten it last night had I been doing more allotment runs and had I not missed checking my magic trees before I went to bed. Real life is intervening, so naturally I'm not going to check my trees and replant them if I have things to do. Regardless, 3 days and one run this morning for 900k exp is not too shabby at all. I'm still averaging a minimum of 250k exp per day, so as long as that keeps up, 99 is very close. Maybe about 2 1/2 weeks. :) I'm also about 75k from 96 Woodcutting but I have company coming over, so no 96 wc for me until late late tonight. -
Also very true. I guess I am just one of those people that thinks people have the ability to be open-minded. I know and am aware that I shouldn't have fought on the subject anymore, but in reality this only took place over maybe 5 minutes, and I wouldn't have been so adamant to continue to debate it had he not started flinging personal issues into the argument. It's fine though, things happen...or...idiots happen. I took the bait and for that I'm guilty but I'm just here really to rant and to ask the honest question of "How impossible is it REALLY to get 7 sc tools in 50 minutes?"
-
People think they are invunerable to defeat. They like to pretend if they are beaten that it means they let you off easy or they were "distracted," by something. You should look up my rant about Mobilising Armies. Same thing happened to me. I beat this guy who had a higher rank than me about 4 times in a row...and each time he gave me nasty comments like, "I let you win." Then he told me it was because he was on the phone with his girlfriend. lol...so in short, these people are d-bags and you should just ignore them and move on. They're not worth the time arguing with, although I can sympathize with the fact that sometimes just kind of just HAVE to argue with them. It's stupid. I know.

Today while I was woodcutting at willows some guy is using a Sacred Clay Hachet and informs me that it is far more superior to my adze and that I should use them instead. I told him that in reality the adze is better because it not only burns 33% of my logs, but also that the amount of Sacred Clay Hachets you can get from playing Stealing Creation, even while in a clan such as SC Claymates, doesn't really exceed the amount of exp I can gain in that time if I had just kept woodcutting. So he becomes highly offended and informs me that I don't know what I'm talking about. Ok. I take the bait. I ask how many he can get per hour there. "Well, I have 7 in my bank and I played no more than 20 minutes." Really? Wow...fascinating...so what you're saying is that each game only lasted no more than 60 seconds since 14 minutes of 7 games would be spent on the waiting room period? Ok...my point taken, he still denies he is lying. Clearly, folks...he is. We all know 7 games in 20 minutes is impossible to achieve. It just cannot happen. Even if it did, you wouldn't get enough points to get 1 tool per game. So in short, his 7 hachets per 20 minutes was debunked. He continues to deny. Continues to lie. Eventually get gives way and says MAYBE it was 30 minutes. But no more than that. I then ask, "How many minutes did each game last?" He replies, "No more than 5 minutes." So I say...ok...5 minute games times 7 games. That's 35. 2 Minute waiting periods times 7 games. That's 14. 35 plus 14. That seems like 49 to me. That's almost 20 minutes longer than you're claiming. So I get called a liar, a noob, he asks me my age, I tell him 20, he says he'd commit suicide if he played a game at age 20...you know...pretty much the standard child behaviour you're bound to get from many players. So then he decides that if he tells me his friend who played with him swears it took no more than 45 minutes for them to play 7 games that it would shut me up. Again, I say, "Well you haven't proven anything to me except that your friend agrees with you. You still haven't given me facts or numbers on how you achieved this." He fights some more, eventually I get put on his ignore list and he continues to talk crap about me without me being able to defend. Real nice, kid. Real mature. All in all, I am annoyed, and I leave you all with two questions: Why do people feel the need to continue to lie after their bluff has already been called and their "fact" debunked? What is it that drives anyone to get so hellbent on proving a point that pretty much everyone around them knows is a blatant lie? My second question is: What do you think is actually possible with SC? I have played many, MANY times with SC Claymates and never have we achieved 7 games in 30 minutes. 1 hour? A little more possible, but not probable. I would say you could realistically play 5-6 games of SC an hour with a clan. What do you think? Discuss and rant yourself if you'd like. This was just stupid beyond belief and turned into a large ordeal because the kid just couldn't admit he had lied.

Achieved 95/99 Farming today. The levels and exp are going by pretty quickly. I manage to check 10 Magic and 5 Palm Trees per day, on top of anywhere from 4-8 Torstol/Watermelon runs, depending on how much I feel like logging on that day. So in total I'm pulling in about 250,000 - 310,000 experience per day. Very, very nice, if you ask me. =-p Also, here are some other pictures: [hide=] [/hide] -
Skeletal Wyverns are awesome Crimson Charms, though, and they are very easy to kill in one trip if you bring the right equipment and familiars.

The "Official" Level 95 Slayer Monster
Outsanity replied to Outsanity's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
[hide=] Once again you have missed multiple of my points. I respect that you are not going to add smithing to your suggestion, but I would like you to concede that Runescape is logical and that reinforces my point about decaying. Now, you also failed to address the title where it states that it is official. I'm not sure why you are being so quarrelsome about this; everyone says that it's not official and it IS confusing. Regarding the task length I think that its not going to matter, people are going to camp them. I know your idea of a violin is a good one but not good enough to killl campers. You've slightly irked them. What stops them from: Teleport Summona->Teleport slayer tower-> go back to the graveyard. Its a SMALL annoyance. If there are other reasons for changing the amount on task, then I would like to see it. I've already told you, the violins will slow down campers in the sense that you will have to leave eventually. Even if all you brought on task was 28 violins (they can't be stored in a BoB) you could only kill a maximum of 2,800 of them before having to bank. Now, this is HIGHLY impossible because you have to use prayer to kill them. Prayer is a MUST and there isn't a way around it. The accuracy of their attacks is far too high, and I've already stated that part clearly in the guide. The trick will be then to find a way to carry a delicate mix of prayer pots and violins to be able to stay they maximum amount of time. It's just adding another strategy, much in the same way people had figure out the best way to be able to stay at waterfiends for large periods of time. (True, you could stay indefinitely with ranged, but range attacks are a very poor way to kill Waterfiends as it is.) I don't think I need to give you another reason on why I would want to change the amount on task. Less assigned on task means a slight less amount of Broadswords being brough into the game. It's just another way to aid in keeping the price stable at wherever its lowest amount rests. It's not going to be THE reason it stays there, but less in game never hurt anything. And no, if you're here to hear the words about logic come from my mouth, you're really wasting your time. Runescape is not logical. Only parts of it. A very large portion of the game is very illogical. We can carry millions of Runes at one time? We can eat an entire shark or swordfish or lobster in one single bite? We can get teleported to an island governed by a cat where everything is opposite and instead of cooking a fish you have to catch a dead cooked one and uncook it to bring it back to life? We have the ability to animate piles of armor to allow us to fight them, in which they then drop tokens? Waterfiends can somehow hold notes, which are pieces of paper and should otherwise be torn to wet shreds? So no. Large no on that one. Keep fighting me on it. It's not going anywhere. In fact, since I know when something is getting ridiculous and is deterring from the original topic at hand, I am ending my end of the debate on this, here and now. For some reason, everyone else has managed to realize that ultimately if their ideas aren't wanted or needed, they shouldn't fight it because ultimately it was not their idea. You coming here and saying, "I understand you don't have to use my idea, but I'm going to fight you on it anyway," is just really amazing to me. So that will stop now. I already asked once, anyway, about you taking it to PM, which you did...but then you still brought it here. If this continues, I will ask a mod to delete your post. Sorry if this offends you. If the word "official," is still irking you beyond repair, you are always welcome to withdraw your support from the idea. I'm not forcing you to agree with it, but unless you can physically log yourself into my account and change it, or find a way to prove I said anywhere that this was out of Jagex's mouth and can get a mod to change it...it will be staying. Again, sorry if this offends you, but this isn't an idea co-written by Maulmachine and Outsanity. Here is my plea to you, and we'll see if you actually do this or not. If you want to further debate the matter, you may do so in Private Message only. Do not make me add a section onto the start of the guide like I did with the Archaeology guide just to keep things civil. There comes a point when you as the reader need to realize that your imput can only go as far as the author will allow it, and that it is my job to keep the nature in which I intended my idea as intact as possible. If I let everyone's idea into this, it will be ruined. Plain and simple. I only take the suggestions of which I find needed or "very well thought out and justified by the standards of runescape." Since so far none of your ideas have convinced me to change anything, then they remain unchanged. I don't know why you are getting so adamant on me conceding to you and your opinions, but I will assure you that they are still only opinions, whether you find them to be fact or not, just as all my words here are only just opinions, whether I find them to be fact or not. (Which I do not.) So take it to PM or I will force them off the thread. Your choice.[/hide] Camping is not bad. I camp. But the thing about camping is that it significantly increases the amount of that monster's rare drop that is being brought into the game. There is no way around this unless I put a limit on how many you can kill per day, which I would never suggest. So instead I add a way to force campers to leave after a certain period of time to rebank. It's not going to keep the adamant people away, but it will keep the lazy, "I don't want to have to leave EVER," people away. And there are a lot of those people, believe it or not. -
Actually, I've gotten 3 in one task before, so no...I don't hate you. lol.

What happens to your cannon when it says it decayed? It disappears. No dust, no anything. Decay in the case of the cannon is a prime example in runescape where decay = disappearing. /discussion on decay. If you want to discuss it further, we can take it to private chat. With that being said, again I will reiterate that I choose to not include smithing in my suggestion. Should you create your own suggestion and include repairing items to make smithing more useful, then please, be my guest. I will support it, in fact! Just not within this idea. This idea doesn't need it. It's uneccessary. Now let's take it back to a calmer level, and please for the love of god, let's stop the decaying debate. lol. I was thinking of making the number of killable crypt lords on task to be maxed at 150 instead of 200. What do you think of this? I think on one hand it will make Broadswords more rare, but on the other people may complain because you don't get as many as other monsters on tasks. What is your imput? -
[hide=] I understand that.. but for me, it's not exactly fun grinding skills that will not help me in anyway during the game. And I don't care much for total skill level. I look at the game from an economic perspective. If it's costly to train some skills, I won't do it (unless it's for a quest req).. I'd rather have a few extra million xp in my bank to use on skills that I actually care about (e.g. summoning and prayer are costly), than to use it on a skill that I'll probably never use for added benefit again (like I said, my moneymaker is combat). My highest non-combat skill is.. fishing, lvl 81.. I've only taken it up one level since I came back to the game a few months ago. With the g/e, there's no point anymore. As buying monks/sharks from the g/e is less costlier for me than actually fishing them on my own. So really, I'm finding it hard to motivate myself to train any skill but combat, which kind of sucks. Well actually, specialization is a real-world thing.. It just completely defeats the purpose of all these skills in runescape.. which is a negative we got with the g/e. [/hide] But that's just YOU. That's your opinion, not fact. If someone plays for fun or to set goals for them to achieve, then your way of playing is useless. The game isn't really all about money. It's more about skills than anything else, and money is a secondary result from that skilling. Then again, this is only my opinion.

[hide=] Lol...did you read the suggestion? I almost don't even want to point out why I think this, to see if you can figure it out...but I guess I'll tell you. The broadsword has a -2 Prayer bonus. This was how I made it when i first suggested it. It since then has not been changed or edited. How you missed it, I have no idea. And also, it's a Violin, not a harp. And I don't think 250 is good. The reason I made it 100 is so they aren't as easily camped at. You will either need to bring multiple violins, or bank to get another one. I'm not trying to be mean or jerkish...it's just like...how did you miss that stuff if you purposely singled them out and made comments about them? :| He obviously didn't read completely, it's annoying but its best to ignore it. I have a couple of suggestions, it is unclear what you mean by the violin will decay. Will it decay into nothing? Will it become "Bone Violin(deg)" once it degrades? If so could we repair it somehow for a slightly lowered cost in our POH? And how many would we get in a task?(I'm sorry if you answered this, I couldn't find it) Also, I read your bit about why you said called it the official monster, but that's just a lie. It isn't official, at all, why start of your post bye lying to us? Well I'll start off by saying I don't know where you think me having the opinion that calling something official is a tactic to solidify something. I'm sorry if you think my way about suggesting things is a lie to you, but I'd rather someone give me great suggestions that aren't "Well, maybe we could have this. I think. I feel. This would make me love such and such." etc etc. I want the author to be solid with their suggestion. If you want something, then suggest it as a real thing, not as a suggestion. That's a weak way around it, and things don't happen if you passively suggest something. My opinion, again, which is why I find it really interesting as to how you can call it a lie. Just interesting, is all. And what is really terribly hard about knowing what decaying means? When your cannon decays in runescape it disappears. When your sacred clay tools decay they disappear. I mean, I don't know how specific I should have to be about it, and this isn't me attacking your intelligence, I think you're obviously very able. I just don't think it needs much clarification. And while I think your idea on making it repairable IS valid, I'm going to say no on that. The whole point of the Violin is to keep people from being able to camp with guthans or the like. True, you can bring quite a few violins with you, but then you sacrifice inventory space. The cost is to give them an opportunity cost. You have the chance to make your money back, and you will, but it's going to cost you about 500 gp per kill to have that opportunity. Really, part of me wants to raise the cost of the violins to 100,000 a pop, because the drops are so valuable...but I will need several opinions on this before I make a decision. Again, I am not attacking you, but I will defend my share of it. I've also had some (even if small) experience in creating Runescape suggestions. I've just discovered, through my own ideas, that people respond better to "This is how this WILL be," rather than "This is how I think this COULD be." That is all. Let's start with the "official" first. I don't care how much experience you have, at all. Since you aren't a member of JaGex staff you cannot call any of your suggestions official. Doing so is a lie, they are unofficial. Look up the definitions of "official" and "unofficial" and you will see that I'm correct. If it's your opinion that its official then guess what? That's not an opinion its a fact! A fact that is incorrect, unless JaGex indicates that they are making it. Now, let's move on to the definition of the word "decay", once again decay doesn't mean to fall apart into nothing. If that's how you mean it then you should say "decays into nothing". The definition of decay is "to decline from a sound or prosperous condition". This being said, I still don't know why you think that the word decay is some magical term that means to disappear! This isn't me insulting your intelligence, just that further clarification is needed and that you are a tad misinformed. Furthermore, if you could repair it at your POH that wouldn't make camping easier, it would give a further incentive to train contruction and smithing, however. Furthermore, you didn't address a key part of my post! I will reiterate, how many of these are we getting assigned per task? My input on the "Bone Violin" is that it's silly to make it cost that much. If you need me to elaborate on this I will. [/hide] Firstly, I did put the term official into quotation marks, so obviously you and I both know I'm not advertising this to be straight from Jagex's mouth. If you want to cause drama over that detail, then take it somewhere else because debating it here is only going to get you frustrated without any gain. I'm not changing it. Secondly, if you want to take anything from webster's dictionary and apply it to runescape you're probably in the wrong mindset. Nothing in this game follows the laws of physics or science or logic. As said, take your problem up with jagex, not me, for there are several items in the game currently that say "Your item has decayed," and disappear. They don't say your item has decay to nothingness. Furhermore, the ring of dueling crumbles to dust when it's out of charges and disappears. Why is it, then, that I don't get a pile of dust in my ring slot or inventory when it does so? My point: Stop taking things for literal value. Thirdly, you would get the same amount off a task from Duradel that you would get off any other monster like Abyssal Demons or Dark Beasts. That should answer your question. If not, I can give you an exact number but I trust you know how many that is. Finally, there's no need to give more incentive to train skills that are entirely unrelated to my idea. That's like saying that I should make it so you have to enchant the violin with some sort of a holy potion from Herblore just to give that skill more incentive to train. NO. Smithing is not part of my idea. Slayer and combat are. If you don't like that I don't want to include your idea, very well, but that still doesn't mean I'm including it. :| The cost of the violin is fine. As I said, it adds an opportunity cost. You have to give a little to get more in return. In almost no way is this idea any different than a bag of salt on rock slugs, except that violins are not stackable, and are more expensive because it's a far more powerful monster. Again, I'm not saying you have invalid points, but I am saying that none of them need to apply here, unfortunetly. -

Jagex and Bugs (from 18 Aug 09 update thread)
Outsanity replied to swampjedi's topic in General Discussion
While the original author's opinion IS vaild, so is mine, and mine is this: If they really did their job, they would have caught the invalid teleport bug before releasing the update. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE got the bug before they fixed it. It wasn't a bug that was easily missed...it was as clear as night and day. And I have a right to complain about poor quality and bug testing. I pay for this, and so do millions of others. Jagex is making a pretty penny from this game alone, and that includes the QA team. If I am helping raise someone's weekly paycheck, whether it be small or not, I want good quality from my game, and every single solitary update that has been released in the past 6 months alone has been bugged, and this update took the cake for most bugs found. Construction, as xpx has said, has known to cause the most fatal bugs Runescape has ever seen. The Falador Massacre was so devistatingly bad that it is actually a historical event that happened in a VIDEO GAME. It's got it's own wikia page and there are countless videos made about it. People call it death day. Dooms day. All of this over a Construction update (yes, I am aware it was the actual release of the skill) and years later Jagex has still not learned from their mistakes. We're lucky someone wasn't able to find another bug that could've led to more havoc. Given a few more days and I bet someone could've. Either way, millions of gp that should've left the game from planking making, did not. That was a fault in it's own right. I just, for once, want an update with a max of maybe 1 or two small bugs. Only then am I going to be happy with what I am getting. Jagex is playing in the big leagues now as far as online gaming goes. They need to raise the standards. -
Isnt combat skills the best way to go?
Outsanity replied to TotalTalker's topic in General Discussion
I don't play to impress anyone, and if you are, then maybe you're playing for the wrong reasons. Not even the top 21 players "impress" me. It's only a game. And just as a friendly note, you shouldn't use "like," as a filler word. It makes it seem like you don't even full-heartedly agree with what you are saying. It's hard to take people seriously when they talk in that way. -

I'm probably the last person anyone will EVER call a jagex apologist -but your final statement here really annoys the hell out of me. Summoning is - without a doubt - the most useful skill in the game - you are either blinded by your misplaced hatred in jagex to see the usefulness or haven't gave it it's honest shot - I can name very few updates that have changed the way I played for the better - on my hand . Summoning is right next to what I call "the jagex make x macros". You got familiars like the beasts of burden who change how you train slayer , fight boss monsters and gather resources - you got familiars like the bunyip who allow more training - you got familiars like the warped terrorbird who before the agilty update - allowed unlimited running - I have no clue what the hell you expected from summoning considering the game has skills like firemaking that are about as challenging as bashing your head up agaisnt a wall, because I dont see how comparing it to summoning - you can honestly say it's better - same goes for many skills such as say - slayer - it's an extension of combat that just forces you to change variety - so yeah, you can kill some cooler monsters with higher levels for good loot - you can use some awesome familiars for better effects higher up too. The only thing that makes summoning tougher is - you cant buy charms and it's a money based skill too - that pisses lots of people off always - myself included because I like to spend money on xp - but i got 80, so anyone can. Now i've never used a familiar for fighting purposes - in a serious manner before - i found them rather cumbersome - but i've noticed my titans respond much better now and are actually useful - it's like having your own little newbie. Thats my view - From your post I think you're a jaded player who thinks they are elite and trying to shove views down other peoples throat in the most hypocritcal way possible, the "I'm right so you're wrong I refuse to hear your views Bull" fly well with me so drop the hardass act for being anti-summoning - You cant hate it too much - since your level 93. but you know I can name tons of classic players and even *Gasp* RS2 Players who have commented the originality, amazingness and sheer coolness of summoning and most of them quit long ago and came back and that skill kept them fascinated long enough to get hooked again. so to say you dont have a mind because they dont share your viewpoint is shallow , closeminded and downright silly. Tremblake, normally I am calm, cool, and collected when it comes to people who have opposing opinions, but they fact that I find you on every single thread, basically always trying to go against the grain of what everyone is saying, just for the simple fact of going against the grain, really pisses me off. You are quite honestly the only player I've come up against in the near 5 years I've played this game that I can really say is an actual noob. And just so you're aware, just as easily as you labeled us Jagex apologists (which if anyone knows me, knows I am actually really pissed with what jagex has done the past 6 months) we could label you an jagex anarchist. It seems to me you always go against everything just for the sake of being a rebel, and it's very unattractive. Your arguments NEVER retain water. They NEVER hold solid fact. You are honestly and truly just a wanna-be godsend that thinks he's here to enlighten us that we're all wrong. Ugggggghhhh. /rant about tremblake
