  1. [hide=] I disagree. We want a weapon that's better than Abyssal whip and this is it. If it is made into a 2H it will just be like the Godsword. [/hide] I agree on the speed and the fact that it's one handed. If this where two handed it would be just like a godsword and as a result, not worth it. Not really sure about the 90 Slayer requirement. I'll have to mull that one over. The reason I say this is because I'd like the general population of Runescape to have the option to use this over the Abyssal Whip. It's been over 4 years since we've seen a new "generally used" weapon, and so this could be it. It will be more expensive, yes, but I imagine eventually, maybe after a year or so, it will drop down to the 5M range and stabalize there, but the great thing about this is it ensures that people with 95+ Slayer will have a decent way of income that should stay stable for years. I'm trying to help out a wide range of people with this idea, and I think it's doing that very much so far. :) And I can't take credit for the artwork, unfortunetly. I simply found it from a quiz I took a while back and had it saved on my laptop for the longest time. Where it came from now is beyond me, but I hope I'm not breaking any copyrights. :ohnoes: Just no on tell on me and we'll be dandy. Haha.
  2. I agree that the gap needs to be filled, but then I looked at the requirements to wield a godsword, and it's only 75...so I was torn between do I want to fill a gap for the sake of filling a gap or should I make the requirement more based off of what the existing weapons require. I'm still thinking this over, but for now I think it's safe to keep it at 75, unfortunetly. =-/
  3. I actually thought the master wand had +20 bonus. If what you say is true, I will lower the amount. In fact, even if the master wand is 20 I am still considering lowering the bonus to about 14 instead of the current 18. If the magic bonus is too high it could cause this weapon to become a new godsword type of a deal, which is also not what I wanted. I wanted a melee weapon that could hybrid along with mage. This way mages have something nice and so do the slayers and melee pvp'ers. I apologise for the double post. EDIT - Yes, the master wand does have +20 bonus to both mage attack and defense. That said, I think it is still a good idea to lower the bonuses to +14 each, so I will do that now. Guide Edit - ~Lowered the Magic Bonuses on the Skeletal Broadsword to +14 each. ~Made it so the Broadsword cannot auto-cast spells so they must be used manually if you wish to use this to mage. ~Added a magic-based ranged attack to the Crypt Lord to add more of an element of danger. ~Added levels needed to wield/wear the Skeletal Broadsword/Headpiece.
  4. I didn't advertise that it was confirmed by Jagex. This is my way of making a stronger statement with an idea rather than a more timid, wishywashy version of something. The best suggestions are the ones where the author instills a sense of reality in the reader. The way I wrote my archaeology guide was in the sense of "This is archaeology, this is how it is done and this is what it can do for you." I aimed for that same firmness in this idea. While this idea is much, much smaller, I think its best to treat your idea as a reality, so others will want it as well. Just a little marketing tool. ;)
  5. For long now, high end Slayer masters have been yearning for a monster to be released that will both challenge and reward them for their efforts in the Slayer skill. That monster has finally arrived. At level 95 Slayer, you may use your abilities to slay one of the most feared beings in all of Runescape. This terror is known as the Crypt Lord. It is a being of pure death, found only in a hidden cemetery behind the Slayer Tower. To get there, open up the granite cabinet found on the top floor of the Slayer Tower, in the room where Abyssal Demons can be slain, and then proceed down the stone steps that are revealed behind the cabinets doors. This will take you down to a rather large and eerie graveyard filled with dirt mounds, headstones, and most frightening of all, large marble statues of hooded, skeletal creatures that seem to be watching over the dead. To summon a Crypt Lord into battle with you, you must first have 95 Slayer, and then use a Bone Violin (purchased from any slayer master for 50,000 coins) on one of the marble statues. You will play a short but chilling note from the violin and the statue will spring to life and attack you immediately. Be prepared, for Crypt Lords are the strongest slayer monster and should be fought only if fully prepared. Also keep in mind that once the Bone Violin has been played 100 times, it will decay and you must buy another one if you wish to continue slaying Crypt Lords. Below is the list of all the information on these mortifying beings: [hide=Crypt Lord]Name: Crypt Lord Race: Undead Level: 166 Hits: 235 Ratio: 1.41 Aggressive? No Retreats? No Quest? No Members? Yes Poisons? No Habitat: Hidden Cemetery behind Slayer Tower in Mortanyia. P2p Only Drops: Gold 0 5,000 100% - Crypt Bones Weapon Skeletal Broadsword, Adamant Javelin (20), Black Claws, Black Knife (25), Black 2h Sword, Dragon Spear, Rune 2h Sword, Rune Claws, Rune Battleaxe, Rune Javelin (5), Steel 2h Sword Armour Skeletal Headpiece, Dragon Med Helm, Rune Platebody, Rune Platelegs, Rune Kiteshield, Black Platebody, Black Platelegs, Black Kiteshield, Black Med Helm Runes/Arrows Blood Rune (10), Death Rune (20), Earth Rune (150), Air Rune (60), Rune Arrow (62) Miscellaneous Black Bead, Bones (5), Clue Scroll (Level 3), Shield Left Half (Dragon), Loop Half Key, Teeth Half Key, Runite Bar, Bonemeal (Crypt Bones), Pure Essence (75), Herbs, Uncut Gems, Super Defence Potion (3), Blood Talisman Seeds Herb (1), Poison Ivy (1), Evil Turnip (1) Charms (2) Gold, Green, Crimson, Blue Notes: Examine is, An awakened guardian of the dead. You must have 95 Slayer to kill this monster. These monsters are great for crimson and blue charms. You must use a Bone Violin in order to battle this monster, and one violin can be used 100 times before it decays. This monsters max hit is 16, and it hits very accurately and often. If fought at a distance, it will attack with a ranged attack with magic based damage that can hit up to 21. Also, at all times while in the Hidden Cemetery you will lose 1 prayer point every 10 seconds. Protect from melee or ranged is strongly recommended. Ranged and Slash attacks work well on this monster. Magic attacks are not recommended. It is very important to note Wild Pies will not work in the aid of killing Crypt Lords. You need a base level of 95 Slayer to operate a Bone Violin. On task from Duradel/Lapalok, you have the chance of being assigned anywhere from 130 to 200 Crypt Lords.[/hide] [hide=The Loot]The Loot: Skeletal Broadsword Drop Rate: 1 in 450 Levels Needed to Wield: 80 Attack and 70 Magic Attack Bonuses: +72 Stab, +86 Slash, +0 Crush, +14 Magic, -10 Ranged Defence Bonuses: +0 Stab, +0 Slash, +0 Crush, +14 Magic, -10 Ranged Strength Bonus: +86 Strength Prayer/Summoning Bonuses: -2 Prayer, +0 Summoning Special Attack: Death Devour Full Special Bar Takes away prayer points equal to half the damage done to the opponent and adds half of that to your hit points. One or Two Handed: One Handed. Attack Styles: Slice (Slash Accurate), Lunge (Stab Accurate), Swipe (Slash Controlled), Deflect (Slash Defensive) Examine: "A breathtaking display of forgery and despair." Notes: This weapon is designed to be one of the first real hybrid weapons, as it compliments both melee attack and magic attack and defense bonus, making it a very formidable weapon. Skeletal Headpiece - Drop Rate: 1 in 250 Levels Needed to Wear: 20 Ranged, 20 Magic and 40 Combat Attack Bonuses: -3 Stab, -3 Slash, -3 Crush, +0 Magic, +0 Ranged Defence Bonuses: -1 Stab, -1 Slash, -1 Crush, +8 Magic, +10 Ranged Strength Bonus: +0 Strength Prayer/Summoning Bonuses: +0 Prayer, +0 Summoning Effect: When fighting against monsters you are currently assigned to by a Slayer Master, your ranged and magic accuracy and strength are boosted by +15%. When first dropped, this Headpiece has (10) charge. Randomly during battle it will use a charge to lower your opponent's defense level by 10%. There is currently no way to recharge it, but the boosted stat effect will still linger. This can be combined with various slayer headgears, much like the black mask, to create the Slayer Headdress. You only need the ability to make a Slayer Helmet to be able to make a Slayer Headdress. Its stats are below. Examine: "Grarrrg! I'm a skeleton!" Slayer Headdress - Made with a Skeletal Headpiece Attack Bonuses: +0 Stab, +0 Slash, +0 Crush, +2 Magic, +2 Ranged Defence Bonuses: +5 Stab, +5 Slash, +5 Crush, +10 Magic, +12 Ranged Strength Bonus: +0 Strength Prayer/Summoning Bonuses: +0 Prayer, +0 Summoning Effect: Same effect as Skeletal Headpiece but with added effect of various slayer head parts. Can only be made with a Skeletal Headpiece that has no charges. Examine: "Sharp AND magical!" Crypt Bones - Only dropped by Crypt Lords Information: These bones give 66 Prayer experience per bone and can be used with the ectofuntus and home altars.[/hide] Final Notes Having such a high level requirement, these monsters drop loot that is very powerful. In fact, with the release of Skeletal Broadswords, Abyssal Whips will no longer be the training weapon of choice, unless a player cannot afford a Broadsword. On top of this, Skeletal Broadswords will be one of the best items for pvp hybrids and mages. On the day of release, Skeletal Broadswords will be priced at 10,000,000 gp in the GE and Skeletal Headpieces will be priced at 1,750,000 gp. Expect it to be near impossible to buy either of these items right away, as merchants and weapon hunters alike will be desperately trying to get a hold of them. Expect the prices of each item to skyrocket at first, but eventually settle down after about a month or so. Also keep in mind these items are not common drops. A Skeletal Broadsword is much rarer than an Abyssal Whip drop off an Abyssal Demon, while the Skeletal Headpiece is about the same in rarity. This update is aimed to reward those patient enough to achieve a level much past 90 Slayer and revive some of profit the Slayer skill used to possess when it was newly released, as well as introduce a new ultimate weapon that will be used by a large amount of Runescape players, much like the whip is today. If you find at first glance these rewards to be too powerful, take into account the rarity of the drops, the difficulty of killing Crypt Lords and the very high level required to slay them. If you still find these rewards too powerful, say so, but give constructive criticism on how to improve them. Thank you. 6. There is some possibility to this, but overall I HATE the idea of having to use crafting to make the weapon and such. Just have it drop the weapon as is. No need to overcomplicate things. Post its secondary drops too, so we know how good it will be to kill just for loot.
  7. I'd hate to point out the obvious, but you are either clearly blind or clearly dumb. You choose your fate. Either way, that's definitely stone. It's exactly the same pattern, color and texture as the stone pathway on the ground level outside.
  8. lol...I thoroughly apologise for the walls of text, but I am a long winded bastard, what can I say? lol.
  9. Haha, made me laugh; although it's kind of creepy to think that people who play Runescape actually think of stuff like that. the ending was funny, but the first 3/4 were just weird/creepy The first 3/4ths were better then the end, what are you talking about? I also like the little jokes that slip by. "Are you blind!? I would never eat an eyeball!" or "Oh my god...he ate it...he really ate my eye!" "If I'm not mistaken Zamorak sir, are you not a god?" "I was talking about a different god." (I missed that the first time) Ahahahahaha...*goes to bed laughing hysterically* It really wasn't that funny. In fact, the whole time I couldn't pay attention because of his sad attempt at making the character sound and act like saladfingers. People that are unoriginal to a tee really piss me off, and don't deserve to even have a chance at winning. The best videos out there are the more original ones.
  10. God, I've watched a couple entries made so far and they are AWFUL. And about all of them are about people making a video for the contest. It's like, we get it...this is a contest entry. We don't need you to tell us that by making a video about it. Be more creative. =-/ Then again, I'm not making a video so I can't really talk. lol.
  11. [hide=] Quite an immature reason to not support something, so I guess your support isn't wanted anyway. Just going to go ahead and be frank with that. When are you going to learn that Jagex is not releasing any f2p skills? They've already made it very clear it's not happening. Members skills are THE biggest way to gain memberships. Why would they want to lose out on that? Boom! Only 1-2 years later but I powned you. And yes, for this you can call me immature. Two years ago Andrew was head of Runescape and said several times that they were not planning to release free-to-play skills. At the time, no one expected Andrew to retire from his post, so really at the time you WERE wrong, and I was right, but due to certain circumstances the tables turned. Doesn't mean you powned me in anything. And the sheer fact that you came back after all this time just to gloat and held onto what I said just shows the immaturity even more. Oh, and finally, I didn't say you were immature for wanting a free skill. I said you were immature for not supporting something simply because it wasn't aimed at free players. If Jagex wanted something to be made specifically for free players I'd support in a second because I understand that sometimes we can't all get a piece of the pie. The skill Jagex is making is a free skill, this one (unless they're making archaeology) is NOT. To not support my idea, which has so much to offer for thousands upon thousands of players in runescape, is just showing how greedy you are. No need to drag down others if you can't have something. That's what children do. For the first part I was there 2 years ago and maybe I just skipped over that part of all of his messages but I never saw him say there isn't gonna be any more f2p skills. If your so sure of that were are your quotes or links? To the second part I know this is immature but I don't care. For the third part I never said that you said that it was immature to want a f2p skill. For the part about it being childish to not support this skill thats just dumb. If somthing is not going to help me in any way shape or form I'm not going to support it. I never said I was against it and that I don't want it just because its members I said I won't support it. I'm not dragging members down, I'm just not helping them. [/hide] You want me to procure something that I read on the official forums more than 2 years ago? Well I'm sorry if I sound unprepared to battle you in debate but I shouldn't have to do that. It was very known at the time and I know a lot of older players that I know would back me up on it. Andrew didn't have the same views on Runescape as Mark Gerhard does. Mark believe the free game to be a seperate game in its own right while Andrew did actually believe the game to be a taste of members, but he also believed that the free game in itself was large enough to be its own game. Mark Gerhard came and since then has adopted this "We're here to help everyone," attitude, which I am more than fine with, but his views are different than Andrew's were. That being said, I don't know how you really expect me to take you seriously when you're openly being immature, and fully aware of it. I mean, that's fine, but what on earth are you trying to prove by coming back and doing the I-told-you-so song and dance? At the end of the day, there is a new skill, probably totally unrelated to my suggestion, that is both free and members. My idea is seperate, and that includes having my views of it being members only. If you don't want to support, then fine, you won't be the first. My initial problem with you, especially after going back and refreshing my memory by reading what you wrote, is that you literally just trumped the whole idea because it wasn't free-to-play. You gave no constructive criticism, no positive feedback, no negative feedback on the idea itself, you just said, "Oh, it's not free-to-play. BAD. NEXT!" I just think that's selfish. If Jagex said, "Hey! What do you think about making it so free-to-play players have their own minigame that can only be played on free worlds?" I would be totally supportive of it. The reason this skill isn't free-to-play is simply because I view skills as a way for Jagex to make money. If they start giving every new skill to free players (more than one, is what I'm saying) then they're going to lose out on some new members subscriptions they'd be getting if it were members only. This is all I'm saying. No more wall of texts after this one for me. lol.

  13. I've gotten a KBD Heads + Dragon Med Helm + Crimson Charm drop before. I didn't screenie at the time, but it happened, and I was thrilled. :)
  14. I'm really interested to see what exp rewards the Skeletal Horror will give each week. If you get 10k Slayer and 7k Prayer exp per week then it's actually a pretty nice bonus. This, on top of penguin points could really help some people train Slayer in a faster way. (Meaning, you take 30 minutes to get 16 penguin points + kill skeletal horror once per week and you'll earn up to 50k exp for doing so.)
  15. Actually, Snapdragons currently have a higher yield rate than ranarr. Snapdragon average yield rate is around 8 per seed while ranarr is about 6.5 per seed. On top of this, Snapdragons give more farming experience than Ranarr do. :) Thank you, and I will definitely check out your blog.
  16. What's wrong with a pun on "Hide" and seek? Because fur sounds nothing like hide. And it makes no additional sense like, say, Cold War. Ahem: Forensic. Excuse me, but a pun does not have to rhyme. I'm guessing you're one of those people that complains that "A Tale of Two Cats," isn't a play of off "A Tale of Two Cities," just because it's not called "A Tale of Two Kitties," and a pun has to rhyme in order for it to be a pun. Fur is what the Odd Old Man asks you to get from the monsters so he can make himself a nice new set of fur clothing. That is why it's called Fur 'n' Seek. Hide can be either the verb to hide or a noun as in the hide off an animal. I don't think I even need to point out WHY the title is clever. It's just that Jagex usually doesn't use puns SO bad that they slap you in the face. The prefer slightly subtler puns. (Not saying you can't find some real bad ones in RS, though.)
  17. This is my new goal: I'm guessing it will take about a month and I should make around 25-30M profit depending on how luck goes and if snapdragons are still stable by then. Either way I'll profit, and I should get 94 Farming from it as well. Will leave me with around 75-80M cash afterwards, which I don't know what I will do with. lol. EDIT - I just updated the drops section of my blog with all the whip drops and clue rewards I have recieved up till now. I was surprised to find out I'm currently up to 32 whips. I thought I was in the 20s still. =-p
  18. I'm not complaining. Made an easy 5M off two ranging amulets from aquanites. I just got lucky and got them before the crash. Now that they're crashing the price will go to what it should be, and then aquanites will just be another slayer task with a semi-decent rare drop. When the amulets go down past 500k I might consider buying one for when I train up ranged to 99. Other than that, I won't bother.
  19. Finally completed my goal of getting Full Dragon + Fury + Whip + Dragonfire Shield. :)
  20. Dear Mark Gerhard, If you had to summarize this Question and Answer session in one sentence, what would it be? ~Outsanity MMG: We are currently in the process of working on discussing the answer to this question. (Watch this space!)
  21. I don't understand what you want us to discuss here. Luck is luck. Everyone has times where they are lucky and times when they are not. Some people have more lucky times that others. This is also luck. It's not like I'm going to say I hate the level 61 ranger. They got lucky, they deserve the drop.
  22. Sigils, Visage and Abyssal whip i don't think is affected by Ring of wealth. However i believe Dragon boots does, as it's a common rare and that really is something i am 95% sure of. Commom rare? Contradiction much? Anyway i think the whole Ring of Weath is just a conspiracy. I still believe that this game is luck based and that in no way can you change that luck. I believe all drops are rondomly selected and if you just happen to get a rare while wearing a Wealth then youre lucky, but just as lucky as the guy gets that same rare without having to wear a RoW. Ive had alot of rare drops with and without a RoW and it just seems to me that wearing a RoW actually decreased my chances of getting one. You. Did. Not. Read. A. Single. Word. The. Original. Creator. Posted. lol...sorry, I can just tell you really didn't come into this thread with an open willingness to learn something. The whole point of this is that not all drops are going to be increased by the RoW. Wearing the ring will be beneficial at some monsters and unbeneficial at others. For example, you'll probably be best wearing a wealth at Aquanites because the Amulet of Ranging seems to be their most uncommon drop. However, Silver Ore and Dragonstones are more rare off an Abyssal Demon than a whip, so you'll probably be better off wearing a warrior or an imbued ring there. Since this thread came out, I've tested the theories in a small amount of monsters while slaying abyssals and aquanites and so far I'm leaning towards the fact that the OC is very right in his assumptions. So far i am leaning towards the fact that the RoW is a piece of crap. Ive had 11 Aquanites tasks, thats over 1.6k kills and i earned myself a whopping 1 Amulet. sad to say te amulet was a drop in the one task i decided NOT to wear my RoW. Explain that? As for out "common rare" D Boots, i recieved 4 pairs withing 350 kills also, NOT wearing a wealth. 2 G Mauls in 1 task, NOT wearing a wealth. Dragon legs, NOT wearing a wealth. Every D med ive recieved, NOT wearing a wealth. I would have to say that ive killed more monsters wearing a wealth than i have done NOT wearing one and i can assure you that NOT wearing one is the way to go. Lol...right over your head, didn't it?
