Meh, I have no strong desire to fight Doom...merely to roleplay the situation in a semi-realistic way...which would be to protect my fellow Monarch from the unruly masses. And since, historically, there was no war, just a kidnapping, escape, recapture and excution...I want to make sure it isn't easy....

Possibly...Though I doubt mindreading as an actual ability so...If I were Doom then I would be worried. However, me being who I am, would probably assume that Doom and Trol have talked and come to some sort of an arrangement. And given someone else's involvement earlier today I think I know what is going on.... Though Retech's presence is hard to account for considering these factors...so either Retech is being nosy...or is also involved in some manner...which would be terrible...since one sided wars are always boring.

Perhaps, but for players who want to be sneaky and devious? IRC posting would work well if you want it to be entirely public...Downside is that players have to be on when you are on...and the story will move very fast. Combination of all three is probably alot of work, and is not overly succesful *Chin stroke smily*

I did one of those games a while ago...Play by PM works very well. Play a week or two, then summerise for posting.

Not really...My forces are there to destroy the rebels, nothing else. Edel is, seemingly, not on the Rebel's side so there is no reason to fight him.

This is why politics don't work in this game...less than a day passes between war and the battle...Real world neogitations would be set up with a tonne of other powers. Hehe, nah, I know what it is like to be a moderator....Plus I am annoying enough without having to try to annoy people.

Check Thats fine...but if two sides are gonna fight a pitched battle, the enemy has 500 XYZ, 30 TYM and 9,000 KTW then I want to know how many GYTs, KDEs and OPDs I should send. Even if it is only: 'Well they are mostly KTWs and they are stong against this, but weak against this, so I think we should send this.' Another general 'Well, I think we should send this, since their TYMs will destroy my learned collegues force.' Hardly back breaking work for you(10 generals, offering 1 or 2 lines of advice, most of them will agree or say this is not their field) and I have something to go on...because my knowladge of the Napoleonic Era is that you had Infantry, Cannons and Calvery... Infantry was weak but plentiful, Calvery charged in and cannons worn down slowly. I am not saying 'do my work for me' I am saying 'I have no idea what I am doing, some help would be nice'

They don't care, but they take an active interest... Yes....Isn't that why you took over tactics? So people didn't have to worry about planning wars and such, instead they could focus on playing a game... :grin:

I didn't burn them, I gave them to common people to see how they reacted <_< Also their only experiance with French Revolutionaries is that they come and set fire to fields, try to kill the king and get alot of people killed. Further I have been talking about invading France for a long time and they have said nothing... If you are gonna launch dissent events you need to provide some sort of warning that A will lead to B...not just magically appear at C And the peace deal thing? Thank you!

I like Hegemony and Dungeoneering...However they are both tired concepts. We need something new, refreshing and exciting to distract us so that we can come back and play Hegemony and Dungeoneering without it being boring. Course, the moderator plays a big part in making games enjoyable.

DUSTY Prussia also appaludes Revolutionary France for being pragmatic in adopting a different declaration of rights for a different country, though Prussia has some worries that over half of France is likely to disagree with these policies, since over half of France wants to keep the King, and so really should have consulted the whole country, as Prussia did, before insitituting a set of laws that may or may not be the will of the people. Its a matter of modding and interest. Modding wise, even though Dungeoneering seems really simple to mod, it is actually a major task and will give you a major headache after a few days=P Interest wise...People are sick of games that fizzle out, don't challange or are 'You will do this' types. Since they are almost all built around the Hegemony style Grand Campaign, or the Dungeoneering style Adventure...the styles are getting tired. Hegemony, wonderful though it is, always repeats itself, and despite people saying 'this time we will do X', after a week people have changed, got committed to things, and fall back into old habits, Dungeoneering...well basically it has been over done, people start with a half baked idea, like pirates, stargate or evolution, then try to muddle through, ending up crashing out because there is no collective font of knowladge to draw on... I say Witch, you know what a Witch is, roughly....I say Chain Shot, ZPM or Bioluminesence, and instantly there is a 'Err, what?' in people's minds. Not only that Pirates, Stargates and Evolution having driving forces...you will proceed down this path of being a pirate or an explorer or a creature...If you want to open a shop then, most of the time, the mod makes it hard...then blows it up. So...I would say it is a lack of a good moderator, more than anything else...you need to be creative enough to create problems and barriers which can be overcome, adaptive enough to not have one way to complete the puzzle only...And you need the patience and backbone to be crushingly honest, but sympathetic at the same time.....
