You can build your base, build a wall around your base, add a floodgate and an internal wall, farm land is sorted. You can add a well fairly easily too....The only real downside is that they stop you mining a massive area...but I never do so I don't mind =P

I actually look for aquifers, since they beat the hell out of rivers(in my opinion) Anyway, just got hit with a wave of 15ish migrants...not a carpenter or woodsman among them!
  3. archimage_a replied to Iconic's topic in Off-Topic
Well, despite not starting with a carpenter or a wood cutter(Accidently), and having an aquifer on the map which meant I spent 20 minutes looking for rock....Now it is going rather well. I have a carpenter, traded for some wood, but he is too lazy to actually build the waterwheel so that is hanging, half completed, off the axle he made earlier. Just built a groundwater powered irrigation system, which is I am impressed with/ However, given that every time I go mining I have to press the space bar a hundred times to keep the game moving(Aquifer), I am getting a touch bored...so I am building everyone a Bauxite house with full walls and funiture...Might even get them beds now that I think of it =P
  4. Nah I mean people going 'I am invunerable'...Sort of breeds that 'If I am going to war then I am gonna have to totally destroy the other person'...and in that situation you want to be much stronger than your enemy.
  5. This is how game breaking alliances form
  6. Tis the worry when you start the French Revolution 10 years early...someone else will start the Naval revolution 70 years early, and the communist revolution 150 years early...soon things snowball out of control and suddenly 900,000 strong armies are plowing through the Terran Federation as the moon is orbitally bombarded.
  7. Well...the way Dusty could play it is that Catholics condemn Russia....So everyone who has a Catholic country gets a random event to embargo(or in some way snub) Russia or face consequences....
  8. Prussia agrees, the situation was mismanaged entirely, and now tens, perhaps hundreds, of thousands of innocent people will die of starvation, and thousand more will be burdened with the knowladge that their lack of administrative skill caused it...It is a sad day for humanity.
  9. If I remember correctly, and I do, Russian Bourgouise developed around 109 years after the present, with Sergei Witte leading it. The Bourgouise, as a class, only really developed in the rest of the world from 1770-1800, as Industrialisation actually developed, largely thanks to the canel system in Britian and Steam power... Potentially, from a historical perspective, you could create the Bourgouise...but that would take time...
  10. Prussian King falls out of his chair in hysterics at Cathys ludicrous attempts to run a country with people trained by people who, only a half year later, fought a war to overthrow her. He is kept on the floor in hysterics by reports that she is inviting these same people back into her country, and encouraging them to skim the fat off the leanest calf you ever did see. Indeed, if only Cathy had announced an International, then perhaps she would have killed the Prussian King through laughter then and there.
  11. On the plus side, nobles know that there is a physcopath on the loose, so if Russia invades anyone there will be an army of 30 million, noble paid for, troops on our side.

I mean you can't dig a new route for the river...it blocks you from changing the last set of tiles

=( You can't redirect rivers outside of your local map

They will be set off by anything within the weigh boundries... Pressure plates are built on any floor using b, T, p. You will be prompted to enable what type of things should trigger the plate (water, magma, creatures, or some combination of the three). You are then instructed to set up a range between two values of weights- a minimum to a maximum. e and r effect the minimum weight, and d and f effect the maximum. More on this below. I think so....Test it first....
  16. archimage_a replied to Iconic's topic in Off-Topic
Probably means it is a brook....
  17. archimage_a replied to Iconic's topic in Off-Topic
If you have it on a natural river then you need to build a channel comming off of it and the water wheel over that.(It doesn't work on naturals for some reason) You need to build the axle first though, otherwise it will just collapse.
  18. archimage_a replied to Iconic's topic in Off-Topic
No....but it helps. Anyway, I am gonna see what fishing does this time... And yeah, more than one farmer does nothing.
  19. archimage_a replied to Iconic's topic in Off-Topic
TRADE!!! But yeah, farming is anything but reliable...takes ages to set up, once it starts we are out of food and the food it produces runs out before I could use it.
  20. archimage_a replied to Iconic's topic in Off-Topic
Given up on farming....Trying Fishing this time.
  21. My suggestion is that you let them do whatever you want because you made everything up on the fly anyway...they ignore a house, so what? With the exception of Dusty, who did it playfully(for the tavern), no one tried to break the first Dungeoneering....people just played in different styles. Railroading tends to ignite a war between the users and the moderator...as it did on Planeteering...Where as open plan tends to make people cautious because, hey, setting fire to the inn at the start made the game more difficult.
  22. I am reasonably able...I just think that you will suffer from Moderator Fatigue and either give up or pull a Mather and force us to play a certain way... Happens to all of us.
  23. archimage_a replied to Iconic's topic in Off-Topic
Through a process of trial and error I have worked out how to play the game. Now to try playing it properly.
  24. Tommrow
  25. Compromises don't exist in Hegemony...you have to take what is yours
