Seriously? Jack White or John Mayer It's now always about what you play, more how you play it. And I don't mean technique, I mean feeling. How much feeling does your music give? I give the award to them. :D

Cato as a Pun by Of Montreal : Again, I feel outcasted because I'm one of like... 3 people that didn't put metal on this page. :D

There's a difference between "not trying" and "being annihilated because it's four against one" This calls for the second, and I think it deserves common courtesy. =)

Alright, so I finally decided to make another (first on this site though, to clarify) blog, and I guess I'll start at the most obvious section: [hide=A Bit About Me]So I'm 18 years old right now, I'll be 19 in about 3 months, and I'm on my way to college this fall... well tomorrow (as of August 14, 2008) to be exact. I play several different instruments to some level of skill. Not professional, but enough that I've used them all to aid some band at some point or another. =) I play: [*:329dr2yz] Acoustic Guitar [*:329dr2yz] Electric Guitar [*:329dr2yz] Bass Guitar [*:329dr2yz] Mandolin [*:329dr2yz] Synthesizer [*:329dr2yz] Piano (not in a while though) [*:329dr2yz] Melodica And maybe a couple other things here and there, but I can't remember anything I've played for other people. I don't really know what else to put here right now. Other than I've been happily dating a girl for a little over a year now, and everything's been going well there, so wish me luck in keeping it that way. It's not something I'm used to, max of 4 or 5 months of dating is my norm. =P[/hide] [hide=RuneScape Philosophy]Anyways, like most everyone here, I play a bit of RS, though I've taken several [long] breaks (up to a year and a half). My view on how stats are based -- at least how I play -- is that you have your base skills, and those are: [*:329dr2yz]Agility [*:329dr2yz]Combat [*:329dr2yz]Fishing [*:329dr2yz]Hunter [*:329dr2yz]Mining [*:329dr2yz]Runecrafting [*:329dr2yz]Thieving [*:329dr2yz]Woodcutting After that, you have your secondary skills that you can train based on what your base skills are: [*:329dr2yz]Cooking (from fishing normally) [*:329dr2yz]Crafting (from mining (gems/ore), combat (cow hides/snake skins/dragons/etc)) [*:329dr2yz]Farming (from thieving stalls or combat. You've gotta get those seeds from somewhere) [*:329dr2yz]Firemaking (from woodcutting) [*:329dr2yz]Fletching (from woodcutting) [*:329dr2yz]Herblore (from farming/combat... it also falls into tertiary I guess, because of farming) [*:329dr2yz]Magic (from runecrafting) [*:329dr2yz]Prayer (from combat) [*:329dr2yz]Slayer (from combat) [*:329dr2yz]Smithing (from mining) Ranged falls as a tertiary skill, it comes after fletching. Granted there are plenty of other ways to level, but that's how I choose to think about it. "But wait a minute Drew, what about construction and summoning?" Meh, I don't often train either of those. I don't really train hunter either yet, that often. But right now, I can't see any way to fit these skills into my philosophy, so I don't often like training them. My philosophy is that I want to be pretty much self sufficient. The only thing I really want to buy is armour, because I obviously can't smith rune armour yet, and I don't want to be walking around in full steel. :D I can't see how to do summoning or construction without buying just yet... because they both seem to be money intensive with spirit shards and ... well construction as a whole. Anyways, that took a while, next is goals.[/hide] [hide=Goals]My stats right now: Goals are pretty much just suggestions for me. I don't really want to grind skills until I get bored, otherwise I wouldn't be having fun. Having fun is my number one goal. I've got a couple goals I'd like to reach though, and I'll list those here: Okay... more than a couple. A lot more. But again, I'm not striving to have all these done anytime soon necessarily. Once these are up, then I can get the others up or maybe get these up more. =P Those are my RS goals anyways[/hide] [hide=More Goals]What good would I be if I didn't have other goals? I've got a list of other goals I'd like to have as well. [*:329dr2yz] Keep all A's for my first semester of college [*:329dr2yz] Buy my girlfriend a nice one year of dating present [*:329dr2yz] Understand more about why I think the way that I do [*:329dr2yz] Learn more about why other people can act the way that they do, psychologically [*:329dr2yz] Delve more into the relationship between mathematics and psychology [*:329dr2yz] Make friends my first year in college [*:329dr2yz] Work out a little bit more and just, in general, stay a bit healthier [*:329dr2yz] Finally finish a couple of these songs I've been working on and release a free EP over the interwebz[/hide] That's about all I have to say for now, I think. =) Thanks for reading all of that, if you actually read it. If you can't tell, I have fun with the little hide script. :D

As a resident of Little Rock as well, and with the murder rate as high as it was last year, I'd like to keep it down. I'm not sure this is all just an uprising against liberality. There are just a bunch of crazy right-wingers (there are an equal number of crazy left-wingers, don't get me wrong) that see their oppurtunity to get something they think needs to be done, done, and they get what they did in the newspapers so that they can look at it and go "I did that." It's sick, it's twisted, but it's true. =/

*looks at timmy's post* No, Revenga, he said RS needs more player interaction:
-
I agree. Everyone would be going for the rare drops. Unless you're counting those as "rares" too. Like.. everyone would be after full dragon, and the like. That's what I think at least. Other than that... nothing would be really changed, I don't think.

I lol'd. Poe's Law: Without a winking smiley or other blatant display of humor, it is impossible to create a parody of Fundamentalism that SOMEONE won't mistake for the real thing. http://rationalwiki.com/wiki/Poe%27s_Law

I don't often find myself wanting to play team based games. I don't often find myself talking to anyone on RS either. =P I just use tip.it's IRC-chat most of the time to talk to other players, and then I play RS and maybe talk to a couple friends that I know from school via RS while I play. =)

Lol. Ownt. Problem solved. :D

Some people are just jerks. That's pretty much why. He deserved to get 3-hit. :D

How can this be an accurate theory? Isn't one of the major points of calculus to disprove that? Granted, I could be very wrong, and this may not apply on the quantum level, but I'm curious. >_> Okay, not stealing topic, back to conversation. :D Sorry, was intrigued for a minute there. I still think there's probably some sort of boolean in there. Maybe a bit more complex than I described, but it seems plausible.
-
Nah, that article just came out today, so I haven't done anything with it yet. I'll check on it tomorrow, though.
-
Wow. Very interesting. Very good post. I'm curious to see what this will lead to. =)
-
It was in the ArenaScape forum. Not too embarassing, I suppose. I've just edited my grammar. :D
-
Ehh, that's true, sorry, my mistake. We are complaining about the right things. A lot of these complaints deal with how the government is handling public schools.
-
I don't understand the logic in a RuneScape economy. o_O Isn't is always possible to get more money? And not necessarily with too much difficulty? But if you inject enough they aren't rare. =P Probably a new drop from a new ultimate-monster like KQ, that'd be one way to go about it.

How do you report a bug when your f2p and its on p2p server?
dru89 replied to ItemLendingInc's topic in Help and Advice
How'd you know it was a bug in p2p if you're f2p? >_> Sorry I'm a skeptical person :D But yeah, f2pers can report bugs just as well as p2pers. I don't recall JaGex saying "LOL!1! only people that play can tell us where we messed up!1!!" -
I lol'd. But yeah, getting rights taken away do suck. What can be done to stop them, though? And don't say "Write a letter." They don't seem to care. :D We elect officials to benefit our needs, not make them more money and benefit their wants. Then again, we don't necessarily need junk food. What's next, though, I suppose would be the argument.

Lol, sorry but no. There are some teenagers that are mature, but most of them are not. It only takes 5 seconds in a high school to realize that fact. The only reason someone would disagree is if themselves are under 18, then they have no way to even comprehend how age and experience can change a person. I remember my high school years, and how ridiculously stupid most of the kids were. I don't miss hearing about penises every 10 seconds in a conversation, thank you. So let me get this straight your idea of Utopian rs worlds with no vulgarity is to remove the current mechanism to stop lewd remarks. The truth is their are plenty of people over the age of 18 who are foul mouthed. So just because some teenagers are foul doesn't negate my point whatsoever. Adults are more mature than kids, it's scientifical fact. Kids have not yet reached their full intellectual, emotional, social and physical growth, by definition they are immature. Furthermore, they are much less experienced than adults. You still think kids are more mature than adults? Perfect, stay on the kiddy servers with the other children. As for adults, many would gladly leave behind the hordes of obnoxious kids behind for a more mature and older community. Well you continue to ignore everything I have said. What I am saying is that making an adult world with a extremely small censor is worse then what you have now on a maturity level. I didn't say that children were more mature, I'm saying that the immature people over 18 will simply use that server making It a lower level of cleanness then what you have now. Your position is a complete contradiction. We want maturity so please give us the ability to be immature #-o If you really want to be the champion of maturity and pleasant conversation all you should want is a super censor that makes asterisks of anything that could be in any taken as objectionable [/hide] You talk as if the censor is the only thing that factors in the enjoyment of a community. Just being around other adults, instead of kids, is an improvement of epic proportions. And as I said, a slimmer version of the current filtrer is just fine, it would block the obvious offensive words, while deblocking all the ridiculous things Jagex currently blocks. Some mmorpgs, without even age restrictions don't have filtrers at all. Is it chaos or anarchy? No, because no one makes a big deal out of it, and you can still report offenders. Out of all the gaming companies, it's only Jagex that's making a big deal out of the "offensive language", and putting these ridiculous filtrers. Why? Because Jagex themselves said they will target more and more kids in the future, they want to make the game kid friendly. And since they're doing that, it's only fair for adults to have a few adult servers, it's not asking for much here. That seems much more sensible and I wouldn't mind something like that taking effect. =) I just believe that there are definitely some things that need censoring... however words such as "damn" or "crap" may not need to be censored. Especially "crap" =P, I accidentally use that one all the time and then feel bad because it looks like I'm doing some pretty heavy four-letter-cursing :D. A server for adults to be on and they wouldn't have to deal with "HEY LOL! I'M NEW GIVE 3K PLZ?" Yeah, I'm for that. Though I like the idea of a server where you have to have at least a specific IQ to get in more. :D

I'm just glad it's improved over the years from accidentally censoring whole sentences that were harmless. =P

Do you mean the Illuminati? Conspiracy theorist. :o

First off, it's FCC. =) You should learn the names of the people you're criticizing. Secondly, whether or not you have rights is up for debate in the Congress. You're not technically an adult. You're not out of high school yet. The government basically says (though I don't believe this was the founding fathers' intentions) that you shouldn't really have all of your rights until you're out of school. Also, it's an institution that you aren't paying for more than likely. Your parents might be if it's public, but more than likely you are not. You don't really get much of a say on whether or not soda machines can stay. I will agree that writing down everything that you eat is a bit tedious, but I don't think that's federal government regulation. I haven't heard about that coming from anywhere else. That's more than likely your school, district, county/parish, or state regulation. Which gets into another argument entirely. And your tax dollars? Do you pay taxes? I'm not talking the taxes you pay when you buy your food at Wal-Mart. I mean real taxes. Also, I'm not sure how you made the leap from school to the FCC, but nevertheless, the FCC found it necessary to censor things because some people don't seem to have the capability of making these decisions for themselves. It's the same with the BMI factor. Some people don't seem to be capable of helping themselves, so in order to fix one person, to make it "fair" we have to "fix" everyone. In closing, I'd like to quote Benjamin Franklin: "Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both." That's the society we're turning into. Oh and if you want to be scared even more, just look at FISA: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_In ... llance_Act Also as everyone else has said, we don't have a privacy act. But we do have some freedoms that do, indeed, seem to be taken away. And the government seems to be doing everything they can to say that these weren't part of our freedoms. (e.g. The founding fathers never mentioned the Internet in what they wrote, so there's no freedom of speech there. ORLY? THE FOUNDING FATHERS HAD INTERNETZ?! LOLZ!)

I'm afraid I don't understand. How can an option be good or bad? It's not like you're forced to choose this option. Also, better graphics will bring more people. A lot of people laugh at the poor graphics of RS. When I showed them HD, they were actually a bit impressed. Especially that a free game had that.
