Getting bored of losing precious exp and time? Are they taking your monsters a lil too often? Smashed your last keyboard in frustration because of this? You need more exp. You deserve more exp! Follow this guide and you will be fine. One thing we all have experienced. Monster theft. Yes, they are taking your monsters, and ruin your training rhytm, because you were not 'fast' enough. Some also add a comment afterwards, in style: "haha noob, so slow"... Thing is.. you're not too slow. All humans have nearly the same reaction time... It's your connection. The latency discussion has always been a top hot subject, as back in the days of rsc this was a key element for 'catching'. Without a good conn, you were outplayed. But latency was also important in general. Not only in pking. When training, getting the monsters before your rs fella, making him/her world hop was also important, and still is. As the exp was tight back then, and to some of us, its still tight... This has been properly explained back in the days by adx1 (although he referred much to the fast reflexes, which i still find bs :P) anyways to the point.. Lets say you live in Sweden, Europe. Naturally you do connect to a swe server, as the latency will be minimal (which is good), of course there are other factors, like your ISP = (internet provider), amount of malware (spyware/adware/trojans) using your bandwidth :P (if you got any that is), and last but not least, the distance to the server, and your local station to where the client = (you) send the packets =(all the registered things you do, clicking on a moss giant, for example). You see, if you have ADSL, - most common service used worldwide, the distance to your local station, is very important, as it plays a big role in outcoming ping (latency), and your up/down max speed. Now the upload, and download aint really so important for rs usage, as if you have the worst ADSL there is, you probably will be just fine... What we want here is the best ping possible, a good ping should be 1-30 ms, everything above that is average to bad. There is another types of connection, (not mentioning 56k modem), but instead im gonna bring up 'fiber'. Very common in Sweden, a.k.a "T1/T3". You should be happy having this connection :P (but i guess you are already ). This connection is most stable of all, and gives you without doubt, the best latency possible along with great dl/upload. *tips for you who aint gettin many monsters lately* 1) Scan your pc - malware eats your bandwidth like HELL. 2) Choose the server to the location nearest you. 3) If possible, check for the worlds with less people on. More people = More server usage = Lag 4) Find out your average ping, by downloading for example "tptest". (not giving any links, instead drop an email to your internet provider, and ask for such programme, its free btw) 5) If you appear having a very bad ping to the servers in your country, (even outside) you should contact your internet provider. (follow step 1 first) 6) If everything above wont improve your ping, i suggest you to change internet provider. (if you can) *Note, Having a strong pc is preferably*
