  1. On top of my head: all level clues can give fire lighters. There are heraldic shields in different metals with different pattern on of the metal the clue level normally give. Level 1 clues: Trimmed wizards robes. Trimmed studded armour. Hats Read the both stickies on the Website Updates & Corrections board, and you will see pictures of most new items :)
  2. Map

Mort'ton is south of Canifis, look at world map. Before you ask, Canifis is West from Varrock. To cross the river salve, you must have done the priest in peril quest. To enter the Mort Myre swamps, you have to at least have started the Nature spirit quest.
  3. I frankly dont understand why you are posting about this. Info on new clues is there, but people dont find it, since they they dont read stickies and they dont search. THAT is a problem as I see it, as it clogs up the boards with the same questions over and over again - not that tip.it staff direct them to where they will find the info they are looking for!
  4. You have a very good point there, and I must admit I never thought of it that way with the gods. I also admit that I often say scimmy, well when talking about scimitars that is - but I dont do that too often ;) I am not. It was a very well written article on a subject that a lot of people have opinions about, one way or the other.
  5. king roald in varrock castle
  6. I think it's on Miscellania

Edmond in Ardounge from the plaque city quest?
  8. Old doesnt always have to mean the same as dead. It's been a while since I read this one, but I remember it as a very funny story, well worth reading.
  9. Yes, high alching the "junk" definitly seems to trigger the randoms, I have noticed that as well. I spent last night and this morning at dust devils. I didnt keep exact count, but it was something like 1 plant, 3 genies, 1 sandwich lady, at leat 5 drunken dwarves, 3 mysterious old men (I have not had them for ages!), 1 Miles, 1 Rick Turpentine (and he gave me a kebab, I didn't know he could do that), 1 frog prince (and since had cannon which kept shooting and thereby kept me figting, I didnt manage to kiss him so got teled to froggy land  ) 2 Capt'n Hand, 2 swarms - whew, I think that was it all ;)
  10. Best way to make money also has to do with your personality. Myself for example does not have the personaliey to make *any* money at all at *any* of the top 3 ways on your list. I am not saying that you are wrong, but I am saying that the best ways to make money vary very much between us as individuals. For one, to make much money you have to be interested in making much money, enjoying a large income. With the right personality, I am sure merchanting is enjoyable. Same for staking and pk-ing. For me trading with strangers is just a pain I try to get through as quick as possible, and fighting strangers is just something I dont want to do - so I dont do it. Keep in mind that many of us enjoy working on skills rather than collecting money. And with our skills we earn enough money to make ourself a living. The skills we enjoy the most tend to be the skills we have high levels in, and also tend to be the best money maker for us. For someone enjoying fishing, fishing tend to be the major source of income for example. Again, I dont like fishing, and never made one single gp from it - but fished for my own needs. For someone who enjoy fighting NPC's, barrows is good way to make money. When it comes to myself, I enjoy getting most of my raw materials myself so I earn a little on most of what I do, and in addition to that I enjoy killing big monsters :P Because of this, I would like to say that the best way to make money is doing what you are good at and enjoy! :) (and I am sick of seeing topics like "what is the best way to make 4 millions really quick)
  11. The price reflects the fact that once you can grow magic trees it is the best farming exp there is - and magic seeds are fairly rare and expensive. So the people buying magic seeds want *some* of their money back when selling the roots/string/amulets.
  12. Glory ammy, whip, boots of lightness, ring of wealth and a zammy book. Light and functional for most things except fighting high level monsters.
  13. Thank you for giving an example of that in another language than english! :) I swear French chatspeak is worse than the English stuff, and that's really saying something. In languages with non-Roman alphabets, it's generally far better; the alphabets are more phonetic and leave less room for...variation.. I think you just mentioned the major point for us non-native english speakers. Phonetic. How it sounds. Myself, I think in Swedish (my native language) no matter what language I try to type/read. This means abbreviations usually make sense, as they are based on correct spelling of a word/expression For example: gtg: Got to go ty, ttyl: thankyou, talk to you later mith: mithril Omg, oh my god, yeah have no problems with that one omfg: why do you have to swear to make a point  The internet shorthand on the other hand usually makes no sense until I try and say it out (semi)loud U. The letter u, I think the letter u as it sounds in swedish. That is in no way close to how the word you sound in english. 4. Four of something. Four of what??? (4 is fyra in swedish). Not in any way close to the word for in english which is what it is suppored to mean. Phonetic.... Yep, that is a key word! :) Once again thank you Rilha, for making an exellent point of how a "foreigner" read internet shorthand Yep, read it and was shocked to hear that from you, very glad to have an explanation :)
  14. Thank you for giving an example of that in another language than english! :)
  15. Care to share what made you change your mind on how to type? :)
  16. Definitlly kurasks for me. I get extreemly bored when I am forced to stand in a corner and kill with range or magic - and I take way too much damage if I try and melee them with the spear (frankly I dropped my spear for bank space and made the decition to never ever ever kill kurasks again ;) )
  17. Edit: To everyone defending 1337 speak and other "internet slang", heere are a few things to think about. (so yeah, I realized I posted today without saying that I indeed think the tip.it article is great, which I already said a few days ago ;) ) Anyways, Jaklumen summoned things up nicely In the above quote, the words that really stands out to me are "written to be able to be understood by the widest possible audience, taking into account non-native English speakers, and avoiding terms and shorthand that might be particular to certain media" and that leads to what I want to say: Throughout my life, there are a few guidelines that I find more and more important the older I get, and that is: First learn to do things correct. Once you can do that, you can work on speed. and First learn to do things by the rules. Once you know the rules, you may break them - and fully understand (and take) the consequenses of doing so. This can be applied to a lot of things. The first one is mainly for practical things, typing is an exellent example. Learning to use the keyboard, using all fingers on both hands. Slow as hell and annoying to start with, not to mention that if may even be faster to use only 2 or 3 fingers. But once you learned to touch type and start to get speed up, you would never want to go back to using 2-3 fingers. The time you invested in learning now pays off in quick typing - and it will continue to pay off the rest of your life! Second one I run in to often at work, as I work at a pharmacy (strictly regulated in laws and decrees). Then I come home, and run into it again as I go online - since English isn't my native language (I'm Swedish), and English as all languages has it's words spelled a certain way, and is regualted by grammatic rules. So what is my point you may ask? My point is that the online world is indeed a classroom (Yes, I know someone already said that a few pages back). A classroom where noone really takes the position of being the teacher. Still, we all learn from it, in every subject you may think of - and often without even noticing! When it comes to people like me with another native language than English, one thing we learn how to express ourselves. I am adult and I know myself pretty well. In addition to communicating in English online, I hear music with english text, I watch TV with english talk (and subtitles) and I read novels in English. I *think* I am in a position to take a stand on *what* I want to learn... .... and I want to be able to express myself in English, in a way that everyone knowing the language may understand what I mean. Knowing this, I do my best to use correct grammar and spelling. Not perfect, but I try. When I was *a complete internet newbie :P *, just a few days after I started to play games online I thought "whoa, when u play games u gotta talk different". I consider myself very lucky. I run into a person who in addition to typing very fast also was extreemly good at expressing himself in correct English - in addition to being a good gamer ;) Whew, what a relief when I realized that the 1337 talk/internet slang or whatever you choose to call it, internet community, and gaming were three different things, you could have one without automatically getting the others. ... I know... Does everyone else know... I am sure (well I certainly hope!!) a 16 year old american know when to use internet slang/1337 speak and when to use proper English. Good for you ;) ... but did it ever cross your mind that you have influence on others? Does the 8 year old english boy know that when he does like "everyone else" do, he does it grammatically wrong? (does he know the rules, does he know he is breaking them, and most important - does he know when it matters to use it correctly?) Does the 13 year old belgian girl know? Does she know that it is even more important for her to know (the grammatical rules, the spelling, when and why she may ignore the rules, when to go by the rules). Compared to the kid in the example above, the kid will know how to express himself in English when meeting a person face-to-face as English is his native language.... Do YOU know...?
  18. Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou!!! :D This is a topic very dear to me as you who read the rant board may know, and I am very glad you put the focus at it :D
  19. That comes from when the dungeon with metal dragons was new. Since everyone wanted to try them out, crowding the place. The ones getting them as slayer tasks simply had huge problems to find enough bronze drags to kill, so Jagex changed the bronze drag tasks to only be a few dragons. Personally I hoped they would change that back once the area calmed down, but they have not... Its a waste of time to go there for only 10 dragons I think.
  20. Yes, the silver chests give level 3 clues. Not sure about the other chests.
  21. The froggy prince came to have kiss twice today while I was cutting mahagony logs in the tai bwo wannay village hardwood grove
  22. I must say that I definitly prefer emotes as reward, since they last forever and dont take up any bank space ;) Grats :D
