The ghasts on the trekks doesnt seem to give prayer exp when killed as the "normal" Mort Myre ghasts do. Is this a bug - or is it intentional do you think. To me it would make sense if they gave prayer exp in relation to their level.

Report, and add to ignore list as soon as you are sure you have reported some bad stuff. NO reason anyone should have to listen to such crap.

Ode to the women who made an impact in the beginning of RS
I am female both in game and in real life, always was and always will be, and yeah, played from the very start. Dont know how much influence I had on the game and community though (- except for pushing the suggestion of armoured skirts and female looks on upperbody armour, oh how I hated the early days when there only was armoured legs and taking armour on made me look like a guy!)

Help Tip.It-Temple Trekking
Path 3: I've dont this one enough times to remember the levels. Shades: Fiyr shadow, same as in tombs under Mortton tentacle monster: 4x99 tentacles and level 140 head. If you poison one tentacle, the whole monster get poisoned, which is very useful. Regarding correct name well it's Tentacle and Head - nothing else. Both tentacles and head examies as "I'm glad I can't see the rest of it!". When you kill a tentacle, you get a message "You slay a tentacle, the swamp creature seems to weaken". Ghasts: 139 Giant snakes: 139 (skinning the snake by using knife with dead snake give 2-5 snake hides) Snails: 139 Juvinates: 119 Path 1: monsters of level 80 (Riyl shade, same as in tombs under Mortton) Path 2: monsters of level 109 (asyn shade, same as in tombs under Mortton) Will take a closer look for details on path 1 and 2 and edit this post. Here is a newbie question: how do I find out hp? Edit: Path 2: Juvinates level 90. Guthix balance can turn them to vampire juvinate level 64). When turning into human form , they give you a gift certificate - adamantite hatchet, mithril legs, full helm, 2h, square shield, scimitar, black battle axe, 10 nature runes, and level 2 clue scroll Giant snail level 109 Asyn shadow level 110 Swamp snake level 109 (skinning the snake by using knife with dead snake give 2-5 snake hides) - examines as "a very large snake that thrives in swamps" ghasts level 109 Path 1 Juvinate level 59. Can turn to a Vampire juvinate level 64 when guthix balance is used on them. Give gifts as black chain body, steel skirt, ruby ring when turning human from guthis balance. Ghast level 80

Temple Trekking - What Rewards Did You Get?
Yeah - I currently have 459 wildblood seeds in bank.... I wish it was watermelon (or eventually even ranarr, in smaller amounts of course) instead :P Regarding making the potion: The silver I dont mind, as you get bars as reward - though it is a little time consuming to crush it. Regarding garlic, I find it easiest to fill inventory with stat restore pots (but leave 1 space free), go to garlic spawn, take 1 garlic, put in potion, take anohter garlic, put in potion and so on. But yeah... would have been really nice if we ended up with a 4-dose potion, I mean we do add 4 ingredients and the vial is FULL... Would also be really nice if the staff had 12 uses. Here are a few other trips I did last night. Completly unorganized, as I switched between paths, switched between who I took, and just wrote it down in the order I did it. So yeah, I like this trekking :P I like that it is a challange, and I especially like that you are on your own with the NPC's, very peaceful which is what I need right now. strongest man on path 3: snakes - 61 of each coal and iron ore strongest woman on path 3: tentacle monster, juvinates, snakes - 242 bow strings Strongest man on path 3: stat boosting man - fishing tome which gave 2682 exp Strongest man on path 3: ghasts, bog - 43 wildblood seeds. midlevel woman on path 3: only ghasts - 136 bow strings Midlevel woman on path 3: tentacle monster, juvinates killed her Strongest man on path 3: shades, tentacle monster, ghasts - 242 bow strings little girl on path 2: ghasts, bog - fishing tome which gave 1537 exp midlevel woman on path 3: repair bridge - 83 rune essence Midlevel woman on path 3: ghasts and snails - 75 harralander, 26 toadflax Midlevel woman on path 3: tentacle monster, ghasts and snails - 242 bowstrings Weakest man on path 3: snakes, repair bridge - 65 wildblood seeds Strongest woman on path 3: bog - 19 silver bars midlevel woman on path 3: juvinates (and darklight works, used it since my rod only had 3 charges left and there was 4 juvinates) - 81 of each coal and iron ore little girl on path 3: snails - 55 wildblood Little girl on path 3: ghasts - wildblood, dont remember how many. Little girl on path 1 - shades, snails - 62 silver bars Little girl on path 1: snakes - 16 wildblood Little girl on 1: no event - 5 coal and 5 iron ores. Temple Trekking Guide
Yeah, that info made me wonder as well, as I got 666 rune essences THREE times, only took a picture once though ;) I also had 242 bow strings, 75 herbs (of one kind), 80 raw lobsters and 76 wildblood seeds - all of those being more than the knowledgedatabase state. And... 6 silver bars - which is less than minimum stated. Details are here.

Temple Trekking Guide
A few more additions: Skinning a giant snake gives 2-5 snake hides  So yeah, they are huge, but shouldnt they give 1 huge hide instead of multiple small ones? ;) If you log out during the trek, it is game over. When you log in again, you will find yourself back in Burgh de Rott, just inside the gates where the people are waiting.

Really? All this time I thought Halw Gnun was first to 99 herblaw :P Although I'm almost certain Cypress was the first female to ever reach 99 herblaw? Yeah, I agree that Shacoya wasnt first. She was the highest herblorist for a long time though, and definitly deserves to be on the list :)

Highest Lvls in Runescape
Don't bother trying, I mean, the best bone gives 15 exp on F2P. Members can get upwards of 500 prayer exp on a single bone. 99 in one skill, maybe, but in 6? If you plan to become a member, I strongly suggest to become a member as soon as possibly, well as soon as you know your way around the free world at least. Everything (yes, I mean everything) is easier to level up in members worlds. The good training spots on f2p is better on members, simply because it's not as crowded. You have a lot more variation, as you have so much more to choose from (skills, ways to level up, monsters, locations, quests, armour/weapons, items and so on).

Temple Trekking - What Rewards Did You Get?
I never check time when playing. I do what I feel like, and let it take the time it takes as the only reason I play is to relax. Anyways: how long it takes depends very much on what events you encounter, and how many NPC's each event holds. On the third path, shades are level 140, tentacle is 4x99 + head 140, ghasts, snails and snakes are level 139 and the juvenates are level 119. You get between 3-6 (well 3 or 4 most of the time) of shades, ghasts, snakes, snails, juvenates. So they are high level, and you need to kill them all. Especially the juvenates takes a LOT of time to kill as you have to use the silver weapons. The bridge repair, river swing and nice man are quick and straight forward, the bog may take a little longer. Here are a few more: little girl on path 3: bog - 30 bowstrings midlevel man on path 3: river swing, snails - 55 raw lobsters midlevel woman on path 3: vampires - thieving tome which gave 2498 exp weakest man on path 3 died 3 times in a row  first time to shades, second time to snails, then to tentacle monster. Whew, lousy guide I am, I give up on the weakest for now! Strongest woman on path 3: shades, snakes - 122 each of coal and iron ore.

I wonder how you did your reserarch, the list seems to be missing a lot. Some of the mistakes you already corrected but Mysticsmagic - first player to be able to make diamond amulets Buffyslayer - a good pker in the early days Leza - did run a lot of games (dont remember what they were called, anyone else remember) when the first version of official boards were up. Had a lot of positive influence on the community. Sandytrain - how can you miss her out, she was one of the top players in the early days Ashley - spelled without spaces. Very good allround player. Eventually you can take a look at this, no distinction between males and females, just a list of the early high level players: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=1310

Temple Trekking Guide
I use this strategy when taking route 3: Outfit: prayer robes, berserker helmet, boots of lightness, unholy symbol, book of zamorak, gloves of choice from recepie of disaser chest, whip as main weapon. I choose to use protection prayers, and thereby dress for high prayer bonus. I want a light outfit to be able to run on my way back. In inventory: salve ammy (to use when I get shades), dds (works amazingly well on the snails, and are also good to poison the snakes + the special is very good for a quick kill of any npc that attack the person you are to protect, especially if getting the tentacle monster), Rod of ivandis (for vampires, eventually guthix balance if I have it, eventully also wolfbane dagger as it does more damage than the silver sickle). 1 of each super strenght and super attack (I drink a dose just before I start the trek). 2 prayer pots, 2 sharks, 3-4 snails to feed my companions if need should arise. About 30 druid pouches. Knife to skin the snakes if I encounter them. Several empty slots in inventory to be able to pick up shade remains, hold the branches when going over the bog, pick up snail shells (whatever they will be good for ;) ) and snake skins. Perhaps you want to mention that you have to cash in your reward token before you start a new trek. Edit: clarifications ;)

Temple Trekking - What Rewards Did You Get?
Yes, thats the impression I got. The reward is very low with only one non-combat event, and higher the more combat evens you have. I think I've had max 4 events on a trip (3 combat and 1 non-combat or 2 of each). Here are a few more: strongest woman path 3; ghasts, giant snakes- 62 tarromin, 22 toadflax Middle strong woman path 3: shades and ghasts - 80 raw lobsters Middle strong woman on path 3: vampires (and my darn rod turned to dust before I got to use it's last charge. Luckily I had the wolfbane dagger with me to try it out, wolfbane sure does more damage than silver sickle) - 136 bowstrings. Strongest woman on path 3: shades, repair bridge, ghasts - 76 wildblood seeds middle strong woman on path 3: repair bridge - 83 rune essence

Wet Paint ¢¢âš¬¢â¬ Do Not Touch
Great post, and so true :) Thanks for the laugh :) New minigame snails got me today, in similar style. New monster, but hey, I am big and strong and can handle it. Why wear ring of life or checking guides before trying it out? Sure I used prayers, but the wrong ones. Sure I had a tele crystal in inventory, but did I use it? Sure I had food, but did I eat? ;)

Temple Trekking - What Rewards Did You Get?
I took the mid level man on third path - 666 rune essences. Second time I get that. Tentcle monster, (eventually bog, cant remember if it was this trek or last one), vampires and snails... Next trip: took middle strong woman on third path. One single event, and that was the man who nicely boost your hp and defence. Reward 6 silver bar certs. Strongest man on path 3, only got bog, reward 82 rune essence. Strongest man on path 3, shades, snails and statboosting man, reward 604 rune essence Weakest man on path 3: tentacle monster (here, eat another snail darnit!) and ghasts. Reward - 2116 woodcutting exp from tome. Little girl on path 3: only repairing bridge - 9 harralander and 4 toadflax. Strongest man on path 3: only ghasts, reward 2112 fishing exp from tome. strongest man on path 3: shades, ghasts, snails and vampires, whew! Reward 79 wildblood seeds strongest man on path 3: only bog - reward 9 tarromin, 4 toadflax Strongest woman on path 3: tentacle, bridge, snails - 666 rune essences. What am I to do with all this essence, I just hate runecrafting! Strongest woman on path 3: ghasts, bridge and one more thing. 51 harralander and 17 tarromin. Strongest one (can for my life not remember if it was man or woman) on path 3: bog and snails - reward 132 bow strings.

How are you running to "barrovs"
Nope. You're not. I always take a Druid's pouch whenever I'll be going into the Mort Myre. I even stock up whenever I'm nearby. Currently have over 120 things in the pouch. Most people don't take a druid's pouch. I don't see why. It's one space. I usually get hit twice even when taking the Myreque short cut so that's one food item saved. Very glad to hear I'm not the only one :) Ghasts usually get me 1-3 times on the Myreque shortcut. Getting hit by ghast once, no space saved but nothing lost (=cost for one shark saved). Getting attacked by ghasts 2 times, I arrive at Barrows with 1 shark more than I do without druid pouches. Getting attacked 3 times, I arrive with 2 sharks more. As I go for the chest 3-4 times per trip there, the extra sharks are worth a lot to me.
-
How are you running to "barrovs"
Am I the only one who take druid pouches when going from canifis on the Myresque shortcut? I mean... I do herblore, I collect my mushrooms at the spot in western mort myre with 3 logs, 3 branches and 2 pear bushes. Mushrooms go to herblore, pears and budding branches to restock on druid pouches (and yeah, I do this every time a level 3 clue takes me into mort myre, in addition to when I specifically need mushrooms to make pots). So a big stack of druid pouches is sitting in bank, and on every Barrows run from Canifis I take 3-4, the ghasts take them instead of my sharks, when I arrive at mortton I drop them if I have any left. Works very well for me. I assume the majority of people who do barrows may not collect their own mushrooms, and thereby dont have any spare druid pouches to use :?: Anyways. Ectophial to Port Phasmatis. Replant sweetcorn and herb at allotment. Run to Canifis, restock in bank. Myreque shortcut to Barrows. 3-4 trips down into the tunnels. Tele to Lletya, recharge prayer, dump everything in bank, eventually withdraw new seeds if reasonable time passed since I planted last crop.

Runescape wilderness travelling advcice-keeping your stuff.
i do my clues with a dragon dagger... Yup, me too. Dds, black hides for magic defence, to hopefully not get frozen/teleblocked, boots of lightness and a few other useful things like 1-2 pieces of food, an energy pot, eventually antipoison and tele runes to get out when I get in back to wildy level low enough to teleport from.

Older persons who play Runescape
If the dad himself had absolutly no personal experience of internet communities, it is an understandable reaction. Most parents would worry if their 12-year olds suddenly started to hang out with 18-19 year old strangers in real life. And the sad fact is that there are perverts on the net, often pretending to be younger than they are to make friends with the kids. But the internet is very strange place. You can make friends who are a LOT older or younger than you, from all over the world, independent of nationality, gender, religion, political view and whatever else. What matters is maturity (and a 12-year old can be very mature) and that you have a common interest (=runescape). Did you manage to explain that for the dad - or was he to upset to even try and listen to you? I'm 36. I currently dont have any ingame friends who are in their low teenages - since they either grew up  or quit. Over the years I played there has been several of them though, and I am sure there will be more. As you have seen in this topic, there are a lot of us "older ones" who play, many of us who has played for several years. *waves to all the wrinkled faces she doesn't know yet* ;)

Bucket Graphics Changed
I noticed it last night when I did some farming. I think it's harder to tell if the new ones are full of compost or empty - so a bad change imo. Improving graphics should mean stuff look better AND more different from similar stuff.

Discuss all Jagex banning issues here!
I agree that the one sided trades bans seems a little tricky. I mean, I fully support banning people who buy in-game stuff for real life money. Rich in real life should not mean easy levels in game. .... but there is the concept of selling signatures used on fan forums for in-game stuff. In that case, the signature is in a way game related, and the person who make the sig takes time of his playing creating it. Still it is considered to be in-game stuff traded for out of game stuff by Jagex, and has caused fan sites to close down their media boards. Personally I think it is is wrong to not allow this - but I *can* understand Jagex view on it, since they cant see the other part of the trade actually take place. ... and there is the long time player who make friends with people reasonably new to the game, or players who just signed up for p2p. The long time player in most cases has "junk" that is very useful for the new player, and may want to give this "junk" to their friends as gifts, perhaps for bank space reasons. When I say "junk" I mean items that has accumulated in bank of the long time player over time, it could be spare armour, potions, seeds, god book pages and other stuff, that the player cant be bothered to sell. I have been giving away stuff like this several times, but it is starting to scare me. ... and there is odd examples like this: Man want to get RL wife gift. Man and wife only have one computer in home. Man agrees with friend to buy stuff, pay for it, but ask friend to deliver bought stuff directly to wife because he cant trade his wife since they only have one computer. So it ends up looking like 2 onesided trades, or looking like item transfer from one character to another (on the same ip). Still, it is a perfectly legal trade, especially when the friend know both man and wife in game, and know they truly are separate players, not one person playing 2 characters. ... and there is things like secret santa event. The whole secret santa event is a LOT of one-sided trades, that *hopefully* adds up with everyone taking part giving a gift to a stranger, and reciving a gift from another stranger. Is Jagex against this sort of thing? All the above examples may look suspicious to Jagex, and may lead to bans. That in addition to the difficulty getting a personal reply from customer support scares me. Yes... I am scared. Scared to interact with friends in game in ways that *may* look suspicious to Jagex, even though they are perfectly legal.

Silly banned words
Oh yeah, the garden tool, I must say I like it :) Hi [garden tool] hi [garden tool] hi [garden tool] - however that dwarf song goes in English ;) But honestly, it serves a purpose, it is there because there used to be a lot of flaming in the graveyard section with players calling each other [people selling their bodies].

Lost And Found Office Bug?
When pulling the lever (and thereby "solving" the random event) you get an apology for the inconvenience along with your runes back. So you use runes, and then get the same runes back as a "gift". Not a bug :)
