At last!!! At last i found out when the Dwarf cannon quest was released!!! Thank u! :) Now i have some idea of when i started playing, cause i remember looking at those cannons in awe ... :) i did have quite a few level by then though... hehe, this is intriguing, a Times article gets an official reply :) I must say im having troubles in both defending and attacking the article. There are not too many points to aim at and its too vague to make me feel fully supportive. It is a great read though and will surely cause a lot of debate. Still, accusing Jagex of taking innovative gameplay personally or as an insult is not true. Think the text above shows it perfectly. However, the 'our baby' attitude is visible in some cases, especially, as stated in article, in the 3rd party software debacle. But is this really surprising? And is it so bad? Think, if RS would be sold, the new owners would have no bonds to tide them with RS, they would be thrived only by the will to make profit... The WoW comparison made me think - isnt there a similar situation with PoH-s? i am not a member, but ive read of cases where people can kick players out of the house and cause them to die somehow. I have not heard of any changes to 'fix this bug'. correct me if i am wrong.

'Married... with children' is the best American comedy show ever made and will remain so for long time :) British shows, however, are from completely other league. U cant compare classics like Fawlty Towers, Blackadder and Allo Allo! to Seinfeld or Friends... Lately i found new favorite, think its named 'My Family'

Very good post i must say (perhaps too good for rants forum), sadly I am too tired to write a decent reply... Fear is obviously a factor here. People tend to do most irrational things when afraid of something. Fear companied by ignorance is a killer combination. But we cant expect most of under 15 year olds to know much about computer security, so for them being afraid is not so bad thing in my mind. It keeps them safe. Large part of RS community members are pretty young... .

i dont understand why u say 'no runners' ... if u care about fishing xp only, go to barbyville in a crowded server, there are several people looking for 'free raws'. just get a full inventory and then trade one of them. some will just cook the food and head to wild, others will bank it and return for more. its the fastest way to level up fishing in f2p. u can always drop if no1 wants to trade.

i recommend mining aswell, yews are hard to cut and usually surrounded by bots mine iron and buy coal until u can get to mining guild. then switch, start mining coal and buyin iron. steel bars are always good to sell. if u dont mind doing boring stuff, get 500 to 1k steel bars and trade them for ores and cash. there should be people offering to do it at least on official forums. u get smithing xp too. if u are into merchanting, try buing cow hides around 100ea, they shoud go for around 150 in members. there are oter ways ofcourse.

heh, whenever people are asked for oppinion about something in RS, it always ends up in the battle between RS and WoW... anyway, i do feel like there are a bit too many skills in game, but even worse is that they came in too short intervals. people hardly got used to 1 skill, when another was already introduced. it kinda makes u wonder, what happens if same pace continues... members already have 1 quest per month, if we keep having 2 skills per year things will get out of hand eventually... just how big can this game grow?

i don't think there are any high level f2ps that are not included in that TOP 200 list, its kinda hard to walk around unnoticed for them... but there are several f2p skillers, who don't have skill total high enough to get into that list, like - 'Miner I', 'Large chief' and 'Renlong' , they are all among top 21 smiths in game, yet they are pure f2ps. respect to Frankz, i don't know of any other f2ps with 99 prayer

Those two arguments for enforcing these rules seem fair, I don't think anyone can deny that there is a massive problem with both password scamming AND trade scamming. Unfortunetely, some people don't appreciate what it's like to give so much effort into acheiving something - they'd just rather take the shortcut! But I don't believe that these two arguments are the reason behind JaGeX doing this. I don't know Jagex's reasoning either. I find the statistc of 50% of chat being devoted to breaking the rules that they quoted in the original announcement to be completely unbelievable. I'm not sure that anyone has ever tracked down *all* the RS IRC chats, let alone analyzed the content. FWIW, I think at least 75% of chat consists of people greeting each other or saying goodbye. :shock: I also think that there are as many scammers using Jagex's official client or the website as there are using 3rd party clients. Agreed. Both reasons can be easily solved without having to ban all 3rd party clients, and as we all saw, it will be done so. it was extremely ironic that SwiftSwitch did not get into trouble cause of the swiftly switching feature... hey, i remember looking at the cannons in awe when the dwarf cannon quest came out... does that make me old school? :) ... i really dont remember when i first signed in... for some reasons i enjoy reading topics like this and anything related to the 'ancient times' :)

it is clear we will never find answers to all of our questions and doubts, but at least there is an intelligent, nice and sane person behind that name

since (real) essence can no longer be bought from us free players, will it cause a rise in the price of natures/laws etc?
