Sunburnnnn. Feel it! [Pics here aren't too pretty]
my dad has skin cancer, and overall has very bad skin. unlucky for me, i have bad skin as well. so ive been using sunscreen heavily before ever going out in the sun. i do still get tanned though. and those tanlines look very odd, in fact they are often the first point of discussion when i meet old friends that i havent talked to in a while. i work outside, in a cemetary. the two main things i do are cut the grass, and then trim around the stones. the mower and trimmer i use both require me to use both hands, holding something. the way in which i hold them makes it so that up to the first two joints of my fingers are all underneath, where no sun hits. so my arms and hands are all very tanned, and then my fingertips are still white  . i have a good "farmers tan", all my tshirts are more or less the same length, and there is an abrupt spot where it changes from tan to not tan on my bicep. i also have a "redneck". i also wear a watch all the time, so when i take it off underneath it is not tanned, in a watch shape. lastly, i have something else called "coon eyes". this is caused by wearing sunglasses all the time. my face is tanned, but around my eyes and a line back to my ears is all not tanned :P . it was even better in the spring when i was switching from long sleeve shirts to short sleeve shirts. went back and forth a few weeks. my hand would be darker than my arm, and there would also be another tan line at my elbow, from rolling up the sleeves on my long sleeved shirt. technically not on topic exactly but i think its close enough :D

The meaning of life, or perhaps im just insane.
im assuming you posted this again because you didnt think it was answered? i explained how infinty works in the other post, there is no reason why an infinite amount of time couldnt have already passed. you can still add to infinity.
-
The meaning of life, or perhaps im just insane.
haha, you need to read more about infinity. maybe take a calculus class, thats where i learned. if an infinite amount of time has passed, and you add more to it, it is still infinity. infinity+infinity=infinity. infinity+20 years=infinity. infinity^infinity=infinity.

why cant an infinite amount of time passed already? you neglected to mention why, you just said i was wrong.

What movie(s) did you last see?
sunset boulevard was very, very good. i dont see it appealing to some people though. sunrise: a song of two humans, believe it or not is kind of hard to find :P . i looked on a few *wink*perfectly legitimate*wink* websites but couldnt find it. the dvd site i normally use doesnt have it either. have to look on amazon next. woah, never thought id ever see someone say that  . i thought i was pretty much the only fan he has left :P . i wrote a review on the previous page  . if you havent seen the original clerks yet, definently, definently try to do that before hand. there are so many parallels between them, from the way the story progresses to just the little things. at one point randall starts beserking on the counter, and they only show it for about 2 seconds. i almost completly died laughing, and no one else seemed to notice it. you definently should watch clerks, and pay close attention to everything. it will definently make it a lot better. and i dont know how old you or your girlfriend are, but there are a lot of sick jokes in it. a lot. :P EDIT: forgot what i came to post about :D . "Battlestar Galactica" (mini) - woah, this was awesome. great sci-fi, and as i mentioned in another thread recently post-apocalptic scenerios are really high on my list. i would type more, but i really want to start watching the series now :D .

What movie(s) did you last see?
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest - eh, i didnt like it as much as the first one, but it was still enjoyable. same sort of jokes as in the first one, but overall the movie was a little more dreary. i didnt really care for the natives on that one island, seemed like they werent even trying to do anything new. it just didnt feel right. but depp, as always, made me enjoy the movie.

there is no "first place". there is no start, it goes back infinitely.

The meaning of life, or perhaps im just insane.
they were always there. conversation of mass, it cant be created or destroyed. our big bang was caused by the previous time periods big crunch, and our big crunch will cause the big bang of the next tim period. it goes on infinitely in the past and into the future.

Best Film you've EVER seen?
thats what im guessing too, most of the times thats what these turn into. so i might as well go for it :D . i really can only name my top 3 in order, there are so many movies that i really, really, really like pretty much just as much as these. 1. Donnie Darko 2. Leon: The Professional 3. Oldboy now rounding out the top ten would have to be movies in all the different genres, dont know why it just feels right that way. romance: Casablanca or True Romance. probably casablanca comic book movie: Sin City comedy: Dr. Strangelove or I Heart Huckabees or Clerks sci fi: 2001: A Space Odyssey war: Full Metal Jacket crime/gangster: Once Upon a Time in America hitchcock: The Lady Vanishes how i feel about a movie changes constantly, so i just kind of threw together the top 3 one time and stuck with it. i really dont know if they are my top three or not. the rest of the top ten i just thought of right now, so they could easily be replaced. there are so many great movies that belong there. once again id like to state these are my favourites, not what i feel is the "best". i dont think i could do "best" movie even if i broke it down into genres like i did. maybe if i broke it into genres, and decades. then again probably not.

What movie(s) did you last see?
i thought 28 days later was decent, but i was kind of let down by it. the post-apocalyptic scenerio is probably my favourite, whether it be movie, book, video game, what ever. i dont know why, but i just love that scenerio. The Treasure of the Sierra Madre - great story, great acting, great ending, great movie. bogart did a really good job with his part, especially nearer the end. the movie really drew you into the point it was trying to make, that sane men can go crazy when gold is around.

America - benign or a menance?
well, thats all pretty much just my opinion on the matter. the only things i can really source is that halliburton did have a no bid contract, and the price they charged. ive pretty much gathered all that information from fark, which i wont link to because some bad stuff on there. the people on there arent any different than the people on here though, so ill see if i can find more credible sources. EDIT: found three good websites that i think tackle pretty much everything. TomPaine.com says: CorpWatch.org - main page for their halliburton section. a little info and then links to other pages, of which Cheney's Halliburton Options Up 3,281% Last Year article is pretty interesting. then there is Halliburton Watch which has a picture i found funny on their front page (its actually not funny, its sad because its true.):

Supernatural or Pyschological: What makes a movie scary?
i dont really like horror movies. i did get pretty scared from the hannibal lector trilogy (red dragon, silence of the lambs, hannibal). that had me scared for a couple of days (home alone, i got out empty pop cans, and stacked them 3 high in front of all my doors, they would knock over if someone came in  ). i dont know exactly what kind of horror you would call it. but it could have been (or was?) completely possible. no aliens/vampires/werewolves. just human beings that are seriously *ed up.

Best Film you've EVER seen?
well, i know you said best film, but id like to have it clarified. best film as in artistically you could say this movie is the best? or do you mean favourite film? i could list what my favourite films are, but "best" film could be a little tougher, almost impossible.

America - benign or a menance?
just like to point out two things. first, hating the american government isnt a problem. it does a lot of stupid stuff. dont hate the citizens though (even though the citizens are supposed to be the government). so far its been anti-american policy and government, which is fine. second thing is something that i thought through about the war in iraq. republicans say it is about freeing the people, and stopping terrorism. that sticks to their platform, and the rednecks will continue voting for them. the democrats say it is for oil, and its the republicans fault. that sticks to their platform, and all the liberals are happy. but the war isnt about spreading democracy or for oil. iraq barely has a democracy, and gas is now $3.00 a gallon. what it really is about is Halliburton Corporation. when the us declared war after 9/11, the government decided that we needed supplies quickly and the only way would be to give a no-bid contract to a company. [bleep] cheney, who owns a lot of halliburton stock, probably was one of the main reasons halli got it. after they got the no-bid contract, they got to charge what ever they want for the products. they charged $45 per twelve pack of coke. normally they cost $4.50, but if you shop around you can easily get them at $3.00. so halliburton charges 10 times the normal price on everything, so the stock holders are happy (many politicians hold halliburton stock). the republicans are still getting voted for and are making money, the democrats are still getting voted for and making money, the rednecks feel their government is freeing people and protecting them from terrorism, the liberals have tons of stuff to blame on republicans, so pretty much everyone is happy. except for of course families of the soldiers who are fighting so some politician can get richer. and except for all the innocent iraqis who get killed and their families. and except for people like me who thinks about this all the time and feels absolutely helpless because i cant do anything about it.

What movie(s) did you last see?
Clerks II - good stuff, not quite as good as the original, but good none the less.
-
What movie(s) did you last see?
Blade Runner - it was all right, but nothing special. generic corporate run future story where a corp creates something that is dangerous. just didnt excite me at all.

What movie(s) did you last see?
90% of the students at my school did read it. i had a football coach english teacher that year though, so not much reading going on. Raging Bull - not my type of movie. the whole "sports" thing in movies is something i dont really care for.

The meaning of life, or perhaps im just insane.
you arent automatically emo if you think life has no meaning. i dont think life has any meaning, and i am anything but emo. it depends on how you take it once you figure it out. emo kids get depressed when they figure it out. i was indifferent.

What movie(s) did you last see?
To Kill a Mockingbird - it was decent, but kind of slow for me. i think if i was in the mood for something like this it would have been a lot better. but i wasnt, so it was kind of boring. i dont really care for the child actors/actresses, and they had a pretty big part of this movie. ive never read the novel either, that might have helped. btw, 50/50 :P

Misplacedme's recently seen movies and thoughts and stuff...

More posts per page!
would it be better if there were more posts on a page, or less? if you move from 15 to 20, thats fewer pages you need to open up, so you dont have to load the top part of the page as much. alternatively, if you move from 20 to 15, in big topics with lots of pages you can get to where you last were and not have to load as many posts. i dont know if that makes anysense, and if it does which way would be better.

Azmniag!
normally topics get posted once, then get reposted once and its annoying. this topic gets posted at least once every 5 months, and it really, really pisses me off.
-
What movie(s) did you last see?
i think they changed the amount of posts on a page from 15 to 20, because this topic is only 55 pages now, and it used to be 74. that is, unless ive gone crazy and/or this is just a glitch. either way, its scary  EDIT: its ok! im not crazy: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=502289
