  1. 49/50 :P . lawrence of arabia was pretty good, but was long. same with doctor zhivago. bridge over the river kwai wasnt quite as long, it worked pretty well. and guiness did a great job. Singin' in the Rain - heh, this movie is great. very good musical, very upbeat. found myself singing along with it everynow and then :D . First Blood - im typing this as im watching it on tv right now. 3/4 of the way through, and its awesome. ive seen the end before, so i figured id just post now. stalone gives a pretty good performance for the part he plays, imo.

    is it 1997?
  3. fear and loathing in las vegas. that will cure it. Rasḫ̫̉̉mon - hah, this was what i was waiting for. a akira kurosawa that was absolutely awesome. great story, great everything. the only thing a little lacking was the end, and some of the girls parts. The Bridge on the River Kwai - another great david lean. didnt really know what it was going to be building up to the whole movie, it was a pretty good ending.
  4. :P . once i get the top 63 done, i will probably cool off for a while (printed off a list, and the front page has the top 63, so thats why :D ). i cant find the maltese falcon anywhere, so that will keep me from completing it for a while. in the process of getting the rest though.
  5. Der Untergang - it was really good and kept you interested, most of the time. i think it was a little long right in the middle. but for the way the movie is set up, i think it was a great job to keep you that interested. judging acting in a foreign movie is a little more difficult, but i thought it was pretty good. it also puts me at having the top 40 done, and only 1 away from top 50.

ahh, ferris bueller's day off. i havent seen most of it, just a little bit of the end, and i cant even remember it. still thinking about the hot tub one :-k
  7. How would they follow all those steps if they cant see? ] theres a keyboard shortcut to open it up also. i thought it was ctrl+shift+spacebar, but that didnt work, so i dont know.
  8. heh, thats a pretty good first job. my first job was working in the highschool bookstore for 2 weeks in the summer. 1 week right after school lets out for summer, 1 week right before the next year starts. i did that for two years, so i dont know if you can consider it a job or not. but those two weeks were hell. 1400 students come through a line, you look at their schedule, then get all the books they need. often they have been standing in line for 2 hours, so they werent the kindest of people. and you have to run all around this big room with stacks of books everywhere. not fun. but since i clocked up 4 weeks over 2 year there, i dont know if it counts or not. the next one was working at an IGA (grocery store). that one was easier, but sucked more. i think ive talked about this before, but that is where i got most of my views on politics/life ect... worked 40 hour weeks for a summer there. could tell about my other jobs up until this point, but they arent that interesting.
  9. there is something like that built into windows. just go to accessories->accessibility. open up notepad and type stuff, then tell it to speak it back to you. its for blind people.
  10. the person who made the website and/or those questions doesnt believe it anymore than militaris does. they both just answer the questions for fun. the joke isnt that these people are dumb enough to believe this stuff, the joke is that people actually believe that they believe this stuff.
  11. EDIT: double post || || || \/

i havent played it in about a month, im thinking about installing it again and buying the official addons. i have two of them, hopefully they made more since then.
  13. i dont find funny tshirts all that funny. in this topic i almost smiled at the "warn a brother" but that was mostly because of something else. none of the others so far have provoked any response.

i work outside. ive been getting to work two hours early, so i can leave two hours early. get all the hard work done in the morning when the sun comes up, and its not as hot. im going to have to agree with matt and daan, working outside in the heat beats working inside in the heat. i work in a pizza place, back in the kitchen. with the ovens and everything it kind of feels like hell.
  15. the only bad thing about buying the bond set is the next time a new bond comes out, if you buy it it wont fit in with the set. it is really, really cool though.
  16. ive noticed that too. especially with the "popular" girls at school. they think it makes them hotter or something. my sister used to do that all the time too. she would act like she didnt know what you were talking about, but she did. i got so used to it i could tell when anyone else was doing it too, and i noticed a lot of girls do it. even celebrities. you think jessica simpson is that stupid? as long as you believe it, she can laugh all the way to the bank.
  17. Your political compass Economic Left/Right: 8.00 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.03 when this was first posted this morning, i looked at the first question and didnt take the test. when the first question doesnt have the right answer, i didnt think it would be a good test. and i was right. half the questions didnt have the right results. you cant just group everything "agree" or "disagree". for example the first question: "If economic globalisation is inevitable, it should primarily serve humanity rather than the interests of trans-national corporations." it shouldnt "serve" anybody. i dont even know exactly what they are trying to say. i dont believe in any economic restrictions, so it doesnt serve anybodies interests. EDIT: here is another test, it still groups everything agree/disagree, but there are only two questions that i really dont like. results: Libertarian Your PERSONAL issues Score is 100%. Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 100%. the question i dont like: "Let people control their own retirement; privatize Social Security" the first part is what i agreed with, but i dont think social security should be "privatized." that still means government intervention, i dont want any social security at all.
  18. its not that hard to understand. no one believes it. people say they honestly believe it to keep the joke alive. and what was the point of calling me mentally challenged? (i know, word censor) (and assuming you meant you're, not your). cant believe some people actually think that the people on this site think it is real.
  19. heh, yeah, its all just a joke. even the people who say they honestly believe it are joking.
  20. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade - heh, back to the good old indiana jones. not quite as good as the first one, but a lot better than the second one. EDIT: one more Chinatown - didnt really know what to expect from this, but i was happy. as the movie progresses it gets more interesting, going from a simple "man cheats on wife" story to encompassing the entire cities future. jack did a great job, and faye dunaway did a decent job. the name sounded familiar, and now that i see she was in bonnie and clyde the face is familiar too. good movie, and its #43 on the list. means i have 2 more to finish the top 50 :D . EDIT 2: hmm, no new ones yet? "The 4400" (season 1,2, and the first 7 of 3, which is up to date) - i didnt know what to think of it at first, all i knew about it before i watched it were there are 4400 special people, and thats what the number was for. after watching the entire series up to date, i have two main feelings. first, it was really enjoyable to watch. im going to watch them every sunday from now on. secondly, they arent really all that great. acting isnt all that great, nothing else special about it. seemed like they are copying xmen half the time. overall i like it, and if you have the time to watch all the first ones, go for it.
  21. Here is my topic about it
  22. i asked someone the otherday if they had a walkman. he is only 3 years younger than me, so he knew what i was talking about. we had a nice long laugh about it. but i dont miss the 90s all that much.
  23. there was a russian and english website, although some of the things on the english site werent translated very well, or didnt work at all.
  24. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen - about as generic as comic book movies can get. The Mask of Zorro - nothing special, generic folk hero movie. The Legend of Zorro - generic sequel to a generic movie, except this time they added an annoying kid in it. Daredevil - another pretty generic comic book movie. i watched the directors cut this time, and i enjoyed it more than the theatrical version. Raiders of the Lost Ark - heh, classic. number 16 on the top 250 movies, and i think it almost deserves it. so many memorable scenes in it. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom - like the first one, except this one sucked. annoying kid and annoying lead lady, and jumping out of a plane in a raft and a mine shaft that has a rollercoaster in it.
  25. man, the irony is killing me. an odd thing i collect is the packaging from the dvds, you know how it comes in plastic and then has stickers too keep you from opening it easily? yeah, i keep all of that 8-) . i was going to post a pic here, but camera is out of batteries, again.
