Honestly the skill seems only psychologically slower than the others, since you're getting a steady stream of tiny gains as opposed to the more sporadic, randomized chunks you get from fishing, mining, and woodcutting. I don't recall getting 30 fishing in a few minutes, either. In fact I'm sure it took longer than divination did.

Wow these new champion units are pathetic beyond words. They move slower than walking speed, only have a melee attack, and have only slightly more than double the HP of a regular unit. They are practically dead by the time they get to the gate. And they make an announcement every time a new one shows up, 5-10 seconds after the last one was curb stomped...

It might help to introduce some randomness into the process. Ie, arbitrarily assign different properties to the same ingredients for each player. That way each player has to experiment on their own.

Yeah, in that case what you do is give diminishing returns in xp for sticking to easy items, and give greater xp rewards for items that are both harder to make and more at your level. I believe there are mods for that in Skyrim.

Yes, combat certainly is much more rewarding, but not just in terms of pure cash, but in terms of the very resources the other skills are meant to gather as well. I noticed while doing QBD that I am probably gathering, for example, much more rune ores and yew logs than I ever would chopping yew trees or mining rune rocks. And that's not even counting the plethora of other rewards that boss gives... why would I ever bother to use those skills anymore?
