Sounds like whenever the wildy-monster update is released is gonna be a great time to green-drag/agility/treasure-trail/rune-mine.

Having done ME2, I cannot for the life of me recall what you speak of. It seemed that elves were hardly mentioned at all (and for some bizarre reason it never really fit into the storyline, either...). But if in fact it were mentioned, or alluded to, than the concept of an "Elven magic" is truly one I could get into; it's one of the more original ideas I've heard. Although I'm still hard up on opening up the Eastern lands for quest number one hundred.

TET Presents: Valentines Train and Dance!
maveritchell replied to Nathaninch's topic in General Discussion
Maybe I will come... wearing all black. Rrrargh, I hate Valentine's Day. Although it did win me a spelling bee once. SWM looking for dance partner... or man willing to dress up as one... -
He's not asking how to get rid of (i.e. "drop") it, he's asking how he can reduce its potency, i.e. 10/10 -> 9/10 -> 8/10... Although for the life of me I can't figure out why anyone'd want to do that.

Just When You Thought Uve Seen Everything On Ebay...

What would be even more killer... and definitely a source of income for both if Jagex and EBay could work together... Ingame-EBay-Party-Hat-Purchases "/partyhat" -
No, 100 combat is a big accomplishment. Just because it's not super-high exp to get it doesn't mean it's not very significant. It's one of those milestones, like 40/60/70 attack, 40/70 defense, 70 range... looking back, none of those are very high exp-wise, but they were all big accomplishments. Don't lose sight of what you've done for where you are.

I like the dark dagger, it looks kinda nifty. Same with the white staff and Fremmenik blade.

TET February Calendar is up! Quoi Maintenant!?

NO RL PIX NOOB! Excellent job on those banners, that's some super-de-duper creativity. The last slayer tower event whet my appetite for another, and I'm always up for Castle Wars. And the KBD trip... well, I think I'll let Tip.It be the one to break my King Blackie virginity. Sounds like a blast, good luck with the organization! -
Please be Eastern Lands, please be Eastern Lands...
maveritchell replied to maveritchell's topic in General Discussion
Unless that crossbow is a highly stylized version of a regular crossbow, it's not in the game. And the only place, in-game, a similar sword can be seen is in the hands of Al-Haraknu (sp?), the NPC on the Port Phasmatys docks. Nothing like the boys upstairs saying "no" to make me think "yes." -
Please be Eastern Lands, please be Eastern Lands...

you can't believe everything that is on wikipedia, and you certainly can't assume that the chinese were the first people to invent it, note that the western civilization was oblivious to the the eastern civilization until Marco Polo explored that area. Likewise, it is accepted as fact that the Chinese invented fireworks, pasta, gliders, and numerous other things. The idea is that if it is accepted as fact, then it would have no trouble being implemented into games as such. As was apparently the case in that Age of Empires game, so it could be here. I don't see a computer game as a rellivant source I never said it was, my dear dgd1788. I was saying that it being in another computer game was a byproduct of it having been accepted as fact. Regardless of the actual validity of one stating "crossbows were invented in China," if that statement is generally accepted, it is free to be used as a "fact" - at least one true enough to be put in a game with magic and monsters, and the like. -

Well, of course crossbows are already in the game, silly, we have the Phoenix/regular crossbow and Karil's Crossbow. That, however, is of a different structure than both of those. And like I said, there's a definite connection between crossbows and the Orient... I meant that specific crossbow is already in the game. Not crossbows in general. I'm just wondering if those people are from in-game footage of what they have in their systems, or just drawn up like you said. -

And we all know that the CG'ed NPCs Jagex puts on their site never do things in positions we see in game (wizard playing draughts with a skeleton  ). Speculation, speculation, speculation, it's all for fun. -

That is the point. There is one on the right in dagganoth armor holding a Seercull bow, but that's not the one I circled. -
Before you go over any of the traps, let your running energy recharge to 100%. Not sure if it's all in my head, but that has always helped me on hard agility obstacles, especially in quests. FYI, I beat Underground Pass at 28 agility.

To preface this, this thread is highly speculative, not based on obvious clues, and more for fun than actual prediction. Try and keep that in your open mind, and realize speculation is always fun. That being said, the RS main page recently added some graphical tweaks, among which were a few NPCs flanking the RuneScape logo, as seen (in this cropped and somewhat edited picture) here: Now, Jagex has a bit of a history using pictures of NPCs and game shots to let us know about future updates (See: Halberds, Bone Spear). In this picture, we see two NPCs in particular with unrecognizeable gear (all the rest is actually legit stuff) - the woman in the Wallasaki armor with the pseudo-crossbow, and the man in Rogues' armor with the slender blade. Now a combination of my speculation and my hope would say that both of these belie an upcoming eastern lands update, complete with weapons. Why? The blade is obvious, be it a katana or a wakizashi; it looks Oriental. Not so obvious is the crossbow, although those wondering what this might have to do with the eastern lands should wonder no more. Discussion is the point, speculation is half the fun of updates.

TET Presents: Winter-een-mas FireFest!! (Buring Has Begun)
maveritchell replied to Trojann2's topic in General Discussion
Hehe, one of their mages was chasing one of our guys south, and I chased him down. Can't say I managed to kill him, though, since at some point a level 120 started chasing me. But go prayer in F2P, I was able to walk most of the way to level 19 wildy, at which point he could no longer attack me. I just walked back down to the monastery, and left. Wish I'd followed this and realized that the Tip.It'ers regrouped. Oh well. And since I never said it yesterday in so many words, a big thanks to Jak and Trojann, good job, especially on your first TET event! :D -
Agility Affecting Energy in F2P?
maveritchell replied to dylantheskater's topic in General Discussion
Disregarding the argument, the simple answer to your question is yes. Shortcuts aside, agility has the exact same effect in F2P as it does in P2P. I think no matter your opinion on how or when it recharges, we can agree on this. -
Who knew? Today I was let in on a vital piece of information I haven't known since the conception of my character: not everyone does quests. I'd really gotten the impression that this game was mostly about questing. Sure, there are nice diversions, like Castle Wars (which I lurrrve), but it seems to me to become less of a game and more of a job if the stories and puzzles are removed. Oh well, I'll continue questing. Full quest points four lyphe.

TET Presents: Winter-een-mas FireFest!! (Buring Has Begun)

This can be summed up in two phrases: Inferno. World's Shortest PK trip. Megafun. Okay, that's three. You get the gist. -
I think my favorite is agility, for some bizarre reason. That reason is probably named Brimhaven Agility Arena, but I'm not sure.

A new very hard quest? How about a new very interesting quest. I've got to be honest, maybe I'm a "noob," but by golly, at ~90 combat, Desert Treasure was challenging for me. And 10 combat levels later, I'm still smarting from burning 25 prayer potions on Damis. In terms of challenging, combat-wise, that's about all I want. High level requirements, high combat requirements- these do not make for a challenging quest- think about it. All those mean are you need to do some more brainless clicking - or spend your time earning money - to get your high levels or your sharks and pots and runes. Interesting? Believe it or not, some of the most interesting quests have just been released. Devious Minds? Nice setup, and not too terribly-high level requirements. Enakhra's Lament? Fun little quest with a nice story. Recruitment Drive? Brilliant. Not the best story, but c'mon, you got to use your brain! Satisfying myself mentally -through plot and puzzle - is what makes for a good quest, an interesting quest. Dulling my brain and increasing my carpal tunnel by making a person get 70 fishing or smithing for a quest, that's not what I want. ... And on another note, anyone notice the small graphical changes to the RS website? Those pictures of players/NPC's at the top have a couple of items we've never seen before, namely the crossbow held by the girl in Wallasaki armor and the sword held by the gent in Rouges'.

Fart. Gigglegigglegiggle. Life goes on, buddy, even the best things you outgrow. Never did figure out Zoidberg's fascination with Fords (or aversion to), but may the first man you kill (IRL) drop a dragon half, and may all your future attention posts get 3 pages. Best of luck, and au revior.

Agility Affecting Energy in F2P?
maveritchell replied to dylantheskater's topic in General Discussion
If it's "basic knowledge :?," then it's incorrect basic knowledge. Exhibit A: Take two people with significantly differing agility levels (70 and 1, just for giggles) and have them start at the same place, with one following the other, and with the same weight on. Guess what? The level 70 agility-er goes further running. Exhibit B: As was previously mentioned, if you watch your run energy go down while you're running, you'll notice that (depending on your agility level, of course) every few percentage points, instead of dropping, your energy will remain the same. This is the recharge countering the drain rate. The reason you never see your run energy go up while you're running is because no matter what your agility level, the drain rate will always be faster than the recharge rate. However, higher agility will slow the rate of drain. I thought that was basic knowledge, hurr, hurr. -

hell yes, awesome eh!>? Heh, that's what I thought, too- Ctrl-Alt-Del is taking over the universe. I'll do my best to be there, although if I'm still working with my superduperfast 15kB/s, I might just have to skip out on the PK trip.
