  1. I thought Deangut explained this pretty well. If I'm at Abyssal Demon on a slayer assignment, I'm probably there to kill about 200. Picking up coins may seem like a quick task, but with the extra click, walking time, and time lost from moving in a direction other than that of the next demon, you're losing about 4 seconds. I'm willing to wager that 75% of the drops are coins (at least mine are), so you're wasting 4 seconds on 150 Abyssal Demons. That is 600 seconds, or 10 minutes. 10 Minutes is easily enough time to kill a number of Abbies that can make the difference between a Whip-Trip and Non-Whip-Trip. Perhaps one who is not so quick to understand should bite his or her tongue; rather than critisizing the intelligence of others. There's a flagic flaw in your argument which I pointed out earlier. The time it takes you to pick up coins has absolutely *NO* relevance on whether or not you get a whip drop; None! Nada! Zilch! You will get a whip when you get one. It doesn't matter how much time you waste. Therefore attributing leaving coins to being the difference maker between a whip and not getting a whip is utterly absurd. In fact, you hurt yourself more by not picking up coins because of this very fact. You can very easily leave every coin and not get a whip, while someone else picks up every coin and gets a whip. There is no correlation between the two.
  2. Not to take anything away, but I posted pictures of me hitting 48's on the KBD when ruby bolts (E) came out. Other people have also posted pictures of them hitting 50's on the portals in pest control. But yeah... They're all right up until a monster gets down to about half of it's hits.
  3. The difference in time between you not picking up coins and picking up coins is neglible, considering that you're only killing NPC's. The time it takes you to pick up coins has absolutely no bearing on how long it takes you to kill any given NPC. To say that picking up coins slows you down is a bit of a lie (Just pointing that out. Not that you said it). Anyway, if it takes you 1 second to grab 30 coins, that would mean that you get at least 1.8K per minute of coin picking (Of course, many times you do get more than 30 coins per kill). How many skills do you know can equal that? One or two, tops-- Maybe. There really isn't any reason to take coin drops. It's free money, it's easy to acquire and it requires very little work because they're usually just a biproduct of some other activity (Training or slaying).
  4. fat_hobbit22: How long it takes to kill any given NPC is irrelevant. It has absolutely no bearing on how long it takes one to pick up a few coins (Which is literally half a second, if that long). What I am saying is that, in the long run, it's better to pick up any coins which are dropped because the time it takes to pick them up is neglible when compared to how much money you can make. Even at 30 coins a minute for three hours a day for one year (365 days) that'd be around 2M coins left to disappear yearly. When examine the time that it takes to pick the coins up, there really isn't any reason not to. That's why I don't understand people who don't pick up coins. Bah... To each his own, I suppose.
  5. No, but I'm sure 2 - 3M would :D You might never think about it, but I can guarantee you that if you could somehow add up the amount of coins you left to disappear, that you would kick yourself for not picking them up (Considering the minimal effort it takes).
  6. I've never understood why people don't take coins that monsters drop. It's always baffled me. Per year, someone would lose around 2M+ (A bit more than 5K coins left on the ground a day) by not picking up their coins; An act which takes around .5 seconds to complete. I actually wonder how much money per year is lost due to people not picking up coin drops. Let's assume that 10K people leave 5K coins on the ground per day for a year. That would amount to 18,250,000,000 coins lost per year! Maybe it's just me, but that seems overly wasteful. Every little bit adds up, right? So, out of the people who don't take coin drops, why don't you?
  7. No. I didn't know that would affect the tasks you can receive.
  8. I do apologize if this is old... I did a search and didn't find anything on it. Anyway, I've heard from numerous people (Quite a few, actually) that it's impossible to get an abby demon assignment unless you're 86 slayer. Well...
  9. Edit: Lemme' add my $.02 in. The x-bows themselves are fun to play around with, but have no practical PVP uses as they're slow as hell. Who cares if you they can hit 40's? The powe isn't enough to make up for the loss of speed. The bolts themselves, while they have some nifty specials, occur far too randomly to make them feasible. All in all, it's a rather useless update as far as PVP is concerned.
  10. I believe I read somewhere that a ring of wealth doesn't increase your chances of getting an monster head, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know for sure whether a ring of wealth helps or not?
  11. Well, my original question was answered long ago, so thanks for that.
  12. No, it's not price manipulation at all. I just think that the abbies in the slayer tower stopped dropping them and only the ones in the fairy ring do. Like I said, it might sound ridiculous, but I'm fairly sure of it. And I'm not crazy.
  13. ...Ever since that one quest with the fairy rings came out, I think the abbies in the slayer tower stopped dropping whips. I know it's not true, and I want to believe it's not true, but I can't find anyone who's gotten whip from the abbies in the slayer tower the past two weeks; Not me, not my friends and not random people who happen to show up (Which, mind you, seems to be *VERY* few as of late). When I think about it, though, it doesn't sound that crazy as we're talking about Jagex... Anywho, someone make me feel better by debunking my ridiculous notion.
  14. Actually, it was 17 words but who's counting :D
  15. No. If you do it right neither Prime nor Supreme will target you. As I stated prior, it's much easier if you have someone show you where to go/what to do. As far as what spell to you, it's pretty much up to you. You can use anything you want, I just go with Sara Strike. Slayer dart, though, is good if you can't afford any God Spell.
  16. That was me :P Once you enter the Dagganoth lair, you want to run along the south-east (I believe it's south east) edge of the lair. The trick is to *NOT* have either Dagganoth Prime or Supreme target you. It's tricky, but not entirely impossible. If either one does spot you, just run back up the ladder and try it again. Anyway, once you're in there, there is a certain spot that you can stand in and mage Dagganoth Rex (He won't be able to reach you). I could take a picture to show you, but I'm too lazy. I'm pretty sure there's a picture in that one guide somewhere (Oddfaery's guide) but it's actually easier if someone shows it to you. Keep in mind that the level 76's will still be able to mage/range you, but if you wear some type of barrow's armour and keep on protect from magic, you can kill 15+ a run by yourself. Edit: After I made that, I found an easier spot to mage him from (Which is the one I now use) without the use of ancient magics.
  17. I'm not sure what you mean, but Vengeance wears off once you're attacked for a non-zero number. It's a one time counter-attack. Anyway, does anyone know how high the KBD can hit with it's breath. If you have someone with high enough hits, you could have them cast Vengeance on themselves, letting the KBD fry them for a 60+ and a subsequent 40+ to the KBD. That's all theory though, as I haven't tried it yet.
  18. No, Vengeance doesn't work for several turns. It's good for one hit of a non-zero number. If you cast Vengeance on yourself and the Chaos Elemental hits a 0, it doesn't activate. If the Chaos Elemental hits a 30, then Vengeance will deal a 22 or 23, much like a super powered ring of recoil. I'm not sure how it works on other things, but I know that whenever you see the words "Taste Vengeance!" then you know it's activated.
  19. Yes, it's a lunar spell. It's level 94 to cast and uses 4 astral, 2 death and 10 earth runes (If I remember correctly). Anywho, I expect to die at the KBD but, as I said earlier, I'm pretty bored and am just currently testing out Vengeance against various NPC's.
  20. Late edit: Had to fix somer numbers. Note: I have 99 hits, defense, range and 84 prayer, so I don't know how this would work out for anyone else. Note #2: Runescape says you can only cast Vengeance once every 30 seconds, but it's shorter than that; I timed it. In fact, if you get more than one person to cast Vengeance on you then this process goes by *MUCH* quicker. --- Well, I was bored outta' my mind today, so I decided to test Vengeance against the Chaos Elemental (Among other NPC's). Amazingly enough, I had to say it worked out quite well for me. To make this work, first stood inside the rogue's castle and cast Vengeance on yourself (Or, if you have a friend, have them cast Vengeance on you). Once you've done that, run out and attack the Chaos Elemental until your characters says the words "Taste Vengeance!". Once you see those words, run back inside the rogue castle, heal any damage done to you and cast Vengeance on yourself again. Rinse, wash and repeat. The Chaos Elemental has 350 hits. Vengeance deals roughly 75% of the damage back at the attacker. Depending on what form of combat you use (I used a crystal bow) it's actually fairly easy to kill the Chaos Elemental when planned out correctly. My inventory contained one range pot and 24 shark, or 480 damage healed (24 * 20 = 480). Vengeance deals around 75% of the damage dealth back at the attacker, so you could deal a potential 360 damage back at the Chaos Elemental (This is, of course, assuming some extreme luck, namely the Chaos Elemental *ONLY* attacking you whilst you have Vengeance cast). Since that number is obscenely high, we'll assume that Vengeance would deal half of that, or roughly 180 damage. Taking away the damage that the Chaos Elemental would do to itself, you would only have to cause approximately 170 damage yourself. Anyone with decent stats can deal 170 damage to the Chaos Elemental with 20+ sharks. I had another idea, which I'm too lazy to try. In theory, you could get Jad to around 1/5 of his total hits, cast vengeance on yourself, take your prayer off and hope he doesn't one hit you. If he doesn't, it would all but kill him. Someone should try it and tell me what happens. Personally, I'm too lazy to test it out, as I don't wanna' sit in the fight caves for 90+ minutes. Next I plan to test Vengeance out on the KBD without using an anti-dragon breath shield. Let's see how that turns out...
  21. I have a simple question: If Jagex released a Runescape movie tomorrow, would you go watch it? If you would, why? And it you wouldn't, why not? Personally, while I might be intrigued, I wouldn't do it. I'd be too ashamed to let people know I like, much less play, Runescape.
  22. Right now, I'm using the new spell list to cook my unfinished wild pies which I have in my bank (Apparently you never, ever, ever fail to cook a pie. That's really useful!) but other than that and a few of the teleports, I've yet to find any practical use for the new spells as a whole. Vengeance and the healing spells are an extreme disappointment in my opinion.
  23. No more Wildy X'ers, either! This does, however, explain a rather odd occurance. Someone lagged out today while runecrafting Astral's and was being attacked by one of the Suqah's. Instead of logging out after a minute or so, he just stayed logged in until the Suqah finally killed him. I suppose that explains why he didn't auto-log. On one hand, it's good for the majority of Runescape, but on the other it sucks if you happen to DC when fighting an NPC (As it's happened to me hundreds of times before).
  24. I hope Jagex does nerf PC. It's pretty much killing any other forms of training. My biggest beef with PC is that you can transfer experience to whatever skill you want (Meaning you don't have to mage to get mage experience, nor ranger to get range experience etc.); That and it's ridiculously easy.
