  1. I do believe anyone can kill that level 86 monster, regardless of whether or not you completed the quest. I know that when I did it, I had a friend help me kill it (Though I had to get the last hit in to have it count).
  2. The 'rioters' are, in my opinion, quite stupid because they're expended so much complaining about an aspect of the game which was clearly broken before Jagex fixed it. The people who complain about the rioters are, in my opinion, also equally stupid as they seem to be unable to 1.) Avoid the areas where the 'riots' are taking place and/or 2.) Use their chat block feature. People are free to express themselves in a non-destructive manner (No matter how idiotic it might seem) and others are free to ignore/avoid said idiots.
  3. It's never a good thing to call other players scum-- Especially when they haven't done anything wrong :shame: Anyway, I quite like this update. I hated PC anyway (Yeah, that makes me biased. At least I can admit it!).
  4. I once bought 20K or so death runes from a level 3. Didn't bother to check if they were a macro'er or not, though.
  5. The parents should just send Jagex an email, asking them to ban their son's character. Problem solved 8-)
  6. Hoorah! I just wanted to post to say I posted on both threads.
  7. ^Wait... So you're gonna' lure the lurers? Wouldn't that like... Still be against the rules? Or is it like that thing where it's okay to scam a scammer?
  8. Heh... How do you guys not know who Ashley is? Ah well... I remember once hearing that she was releated to Paul/Andrew, but I can't say if that's true or not.
  9. Wearing a blue party hat while walking around Trollheim. I rememeber running past the thrower trolls while talking to a friend on PM. I pressed backspace to delete something and well... It exited the page and returned to the world select menu. Last time I ever played RS in IE.
  10. Karil's top and bottom plus a berseker ring (With some other random junk); The only good drop I've gotten while fighting mithril dragons :wall:
  11. The problem with the whole "It evens out over the long run!" argument is that people who have horrendous 'luck' (I use that term very losely) won't continue to kill an NPC for extended periods of time. That's just a fact of life. It may very well be that if two players both killed 1,000 mithril dragons that they'd both get 4 larges, but player A could get his 4 larges on his first 4 kills while player B gets his larges on his last 4 kills. Of course, player B probably would never see those larges as (s)he will have given up LONG before then.
  12. You mean people still get lured even with the ditch in place...? Who could have forseen such a tragic turn of events? (I did, that's who. And to all of those peeps who called me crazy, to you I say "Hah!")
  13. Well... If you're going to range then you should wear a helm which increases your range. Also, a fury isn't needed since it's the same attack bonuses as a glory ammy. And, personally, Ava's accumulator > Fire cape. Oh... And... I usually take ranger boots (But that's just me).
  14. Okay... I haven't been PK'ing in a while and I've seen the term used by others on the RSOF, but I never really took the time to understand what it meant. Now that I have, I just wanted to say 'safing' is the most idiotic, inane and moronic thing I've ever heard people complain about and the person who came up with it should be beaten silly with a raw tuna and then banned from Runescape forever.
  15. Choosing what items you keep when you die? Oh. Dear. God. *Imagines the new breed of PK'er*
  16. Pest Control... The dumbest idea ever to grace the minds of Jagex :wall: First of all, the experience rewarded for one game of Pest Control is disproportionate with the effort expended. The minimum amount of damage one needs to cause to gain a void knight point is 50 (200 experience). That void knight point will translate to, in many cases, more than 3 or 4 times the actual amount of experience earned. Can someone explain to me why one could possibly do the bare minimum (Exactlly 50 damage) yet reap rewards which they didn't earn? I mean... Wouldn't it be awesome it for every shark I cooked I was given an additional 630 experience? I'll leave you to think about that one for a bit. Second of all, Pest Control shouldn't reward you with gobs of experience in a skill unlesss you use it. How can someone melee all day and be rewarded with 500K magic experience (Without casting a single spell, mind you)? I mean... Come on... WTF is that? Can I cook a shark and get runecrafting experience? Nope! Can I fletch a bow and get mining experience? Nuh-uh! Can run around an obstacle course and get farming experience? I wish! So if I can't do any of these things then why should someone be able to earn an exorbitant amount of experience in a combat skill that they've NEVER used? Does anyone remember the charge spell before it was given t3h nerf? Well, Jagex 'fixed' that because they didn't want people reaching 99 magic as fast as they were. Yet-- Somehow, someway-- Pest Control is justified? I mean... At least by using charge you had to actually... You know... Use runes. Something else to think about. RAHK: Pest Control is absolutely free. You don't need pots. You don't need food. You don't need armor. You don't need arrows. And you don't need runes. In fact, all you need is a weapon to inflict a pitiful amount of damage on some hapless NPC. That's it. Progression is one thing; Regression is another thing all together. The ability to train risk free/cost free exorbitantly fast while expending a tenth (If that) of the effort you would elsewhere isn't progression. That's plain and simply idiocy. Do you know of any other online game with the equivilent of Pest Control? I bet you don't, because the premise of Pest Control violates everything that a MMORPG stands for. Oh... You say you don't think it does? Fine. Then I want all non-combat skills added to Pest Control. That way, I can raise my farming to a high level through combat :)
  17. I've said this time and time again, but combat level requirements attached to different tasks is just stupid since, as we all know, combat isn't always an adequate gauge of how skilled someone is. It's entirely possible to get a level 70 more equipped for killing the final NPC in Dream Catcher than a level 90 is. *IF* and only *IF* Jagex wants to start sticking combat requirements on quests, then they'd better make sure of two things: 1.) That the combat formula is re-adjusted to adequately display one's combat prowess and/or 2.) That the quest is pretty damn hard and worthy of the combat level requirement. As it stands, Dream Catcher's level 85 combat requirement is about as arbitrary as creating a quest which requires 110 combat to be able to climb a ladder to kill a level 1 spider.
  18. rareghoul1: I'm sorry, but have you met EVERY pure in Runescape? Until you have, then you can't say that all pures act a certain way because you've no logical basing upon which to do so. Runescape allows you to train/play as you wish, and simply because one person chooses not to raise their defense doesn't mean that they're morally corrupt. I'm pretty sure that if you'd get over your unfounded bias against pures that you'd learn that they're no different than any 'normal' player and can be quite pleasant. Meh... There's no point in debating with someone who's mind is already made up. I'd have a better chance of penetrating reinforced concrete with my head.
  19. *Looks at his list* Yes, I have met quite a few well-mannered pures. Simply because you haven't doesn't mean they don't exist. The way a person trains their character isn't going to determine their in-game behavior. In fact, you're more likely to run into a rude and immature impure than you are a pure, as there are far more impures than pures (Of course, no one really ever takes this into account). Anywho, neither stereotypes nor generalizations are usually try, as they're usually oversimplified (Or overexaggerated) statements used to character most or all of a group when, in fact, it more adequately depicts only a small fraction. If most/all pures are rude then most/all low levels are noobs, most/all high levels are no-lifers and most/all level 3's are macros.
  20. Which is nothing more than a negative stereotype. It's the same as calling all low levels noobs and all high levels no-lifers.
  21. I've always found it funny how people continue to stereotype a person based on his/her style of gameplay. It's just as bad as saying you "Hate" a person because they trained their character differently than you. It makes no sense. :-k
  22. I got curious earlier, so I tried it. You can definitely tell it's changed. In many instances, it's much more annoying/inconvenient than it used to be.
  23. I wish Jagex would delete all the current fire capes from the game and make everyone re-earn it through the 'new and improved' fight cave. I wonder how many of the "I love this update because noobs/pures can't do it!" people would start complaining then? It's not fair to let a good chunk of Runescape get a fire cape the old, easier way and then suddenly decide to change it, making it harder for everyone else who wasn't fortunate enough to get one before.
