  1. You can play Runescape if you're under 13 so long as you have parental permission. Anyway, Jagex has become so engrossed with the notion of protecting "the young" players, that they've totally forgotten that it's the job of the parent to protect "the young". The majority of Runescape aren't idiots. We don't need to be babied. Some of Jagex's recent updates/actions are so incredibly laughable, so incredibly innane, that I wonder if they're secretly being controlled by a group of soccer moms >_>
  2. It's like giving someone fillet mignon every day for a year, only to take it away and offer bologna as a substitute.
  3. If only I knew then what I know now... I picked up a bunch of them, but over the course of a few years either gave them away or sold them for around 100K :wall:
  4. 1.) I speak for myself here, but I don't want any freaking minigames masquerading as a replacement to the wilderness. 2.) First of all, 30K is a joke. Second of all, most people who stake don't quest. I don't see why Jagex is trying to tie two completely unrelated tasks to one another. 3.) Can't really comment. 4.) Once again, this works under the assumption that you give items to your friend with the intent on getting it back. That's great for those instances where you're lending an item to your friend, but what if you want to 'give' your friend an item?
  5. Yes, you can blame them. Honestly... What did Jagex think was going to happen when they decided to totally destroy PK'ing?
  6. The RWT will be back. Why? Because Jagex is totally incapable of accomplishing any of the things they say they have accomplished/are accomplishing, as they don't have the 'sophisticated detection systems' which they claim to have. We all see how well fatigue, hard/soft rocks, randoms, pure essence and anything else I've left off the list worked out (In case you're slow, it didn't ). The difference between Jagex and other companies is that other companies can handle their business without negatively imposing on the gameplay of millions of people (The majority of the time); Jagex, on the other hand, cannot. The only way Jagex will stop RWT is by getting rid of the trade function all together, which is probably what will happen once Jagex sees they are fighting a losing battle.
  7. Not completely true. Gold farmers will cease to exist at the point in time where the cost a month of Runescape would exceed the profits made by RWT. Thusly, there'd be two ways to solve this problem: 1.) Raise the price of Runescape or 2.) Have Jagex sell gold for RL money while raising the prices of in-game items. That'd definitely drive gold farmers out of business, though I doubt Jagex would be likely to do either.
  8. Now why doesn't this situation surprise/bother me one bit? I believe it's because I told you this sort of thing would happen months ago by the way Jagex was going with it's updates, but you dismissed me as "Not knowing anything". Oh well... I suppose, as they say, time is all that's needed to prove who's wrong and who's right. Anywho, this is one of those cases where you can't pick and choose when you want to agree with the fact that Jagex wants to make the game "Safe for all players". You wanted an extremely regulated game and that's what you'll get. Even if your name might not be offensive in the least, if you get enough players who think it is then you become subject to the will of the players (Also known as the "Tyranny of the majority"). Wonderful, isn't it. You might not like it. You might not even agree with it. But it's what you wanted to happen by asking Jagex to take total control over their game. I mean, Jagex could simply tell people to 'toughen up', but that would contradict the stance you want them to take. At the end of the day it doesn't matter what you or I think; Only what Jagex thinks. And that's the bottom line. No and's, if's or but's about it. Ah... How ironic! :
  9. If Jagex really cared about what the players wanted, then they would get rid of the last few weeks worth of updates. Of course, regardless of what they might say, it's readily apparent that they don't care what the majority of its players think of any given update, as once they've decided to do something they'll keep said update around no matter how horrible it might be.
  10. Let's see here... A strawman and a red herring in the same sentence. Gosh, Mr. Qeltar, you sure do suck at trying to construct a sensible rebuttal. But, really, it's no surprise considering who I'm speaking to. Guess you'd better head back to those logic classes you always tell me I need to take  Reading am your friend. Notice I said that the difference between you and I is that I can write objective articles. Can doesn't mean have. Can means I'm capable of it whereas, it would seem, you are not. And I spent my time in-game. A very wise investment indeed, I must say. Anyway, you're quite funny. You've spent an inordinate amount of time coming up with ways to 'improve' the game, without actually having participated in most of the areas you advocate change in. Now, I've gotta' say, that's a pretty impressive feat. How's it feel to be omnipotent and all-knowing? Selfish and amoral, huh? That doesn't bother me, considering you think the same of all PK'ers. While you're at it, you might want to throw in the word godless. Oh, and narcissistic. I've always liked that word. You can't forget psychotic, either! That would be a travesty. Funny thing here, Qeltar. You keep mentioning how I should do this and that based on what Andrew said, but you forget that you were forcibly removed by Andrew's rules. Now that's irony  But, you know, keep patting yourself on the back for being an oustanding Runescape citizen ;) Oh... I see... So because I, as a PK'er, am upset with the update then it was much needed. Hmmm... Like I said earlier, you simply detest PK'ers and are happy to see harm come to their gameplay. Go read Meili's thread. I'm sure her last example of a typical type of poster will seem familiar to you.
  11. Intellectual cop-out. Runescape existed for six years, of which no wilderness ditch was needed. People under thirteen played just fine then, so it stands to reason that they can play just fine now. Right. And this coming from an author who hates merchants, stakers and PK'ers alike. The difference between you and I is that I can wrte an objective article which really does contain the 'truth' whereas you don't know the difference between subjective and objective. Your version of the 'truth' is nothing more than a bunch of falsified facts and generalizations. I mean, it just tickles me pink how you blame pures for the majority of Runescape's problems. Sorta' reminds me of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EonjqFPKVU Substitute the word pures and we've got your argument against them.
  12. Naw, but Qeltar thinks I am. Even though this is a tangent... No one was going to try to lure someone who'd been playing for only ten days. The probably would have gotten steel, maybe black, armor and some junk at most. Most lure victims absolutely knew better and were, for the most part, mid-higher to higher levels. But the fact that someone offered them a deal which seemed too good to be true overrided their common sense (Not to mention they ignored the blatant warning signs). *Shrugs* No remorse for the willfully ignorant. Is this really the best you can do. Come now, Qeltar, I know you can do better than that. And you never answered my question, so I'll ask again... If you're so much better than I, then why do you get banned so much more often than I do from the RSOF (And don't gimme' this stuff about you being on Jagex's wrong side, either)? >_>
  13. I've read that before and it's one of the most shadiest excuses in the history of mankind. The problem, though, is that I can't prove it. Basically, Jagex is the only one with this information. However, I take it with a passing grain of sand as, if that were true, then there are preventative measures that Jagex could easily take to protect themselves against credit card fraud. For a bunch of businessmen/women, they sure don't seem to think like it, I've gotta' say.
  14. Waste of money better spent elsewhere (Like food. Or clothes. Or rent. Or car payments).
  15. Please. Jagex likes reading what I have to say. They told me as such >_> Actually, I'm not amoral. I'm immoral  And, furthermore, I care for about a lot of people. They just don't happen to be you  That's not completely true. I did like the fact that Jagex made the leaf-bladed spear untradeable. However, luring is a whole 'nother story. As far as I'm concerned, anyone who was dumb enough to ignore the gigantic pop-up warning you get when standing near the wilderness and trade there anyone was a moron and deserved to be lured. Betcha' they wouldn't make the same mistake twise. It was called "Read the warning sign". It worked for six years. No remorse for those who can't be bothered reading a warning sign. And, funnily enough, I even predicted that luring would live on after the wilderness ditch and, sure enough, it did. Go figure...! *Pats himself on the back* Yeah. I remember that! Runescape is only as smart as it's dumbest player. You can't fix stupid. Uh-huh... Well, if you're done trying to make me out to be some godless sociopath, I've got to ask you if you're sooo much better than I why you seem to get banned a heck of a lot more than I do from the RSOF? >_>
  16. Semantics are bad. They spend money on Runescape, with Runescape being the game in question. Sheesh... Anyway, regardless of what Jagex might want you to believe, RWT don't negatively impact the game. Yes, that would be quite a leap in logic. Not caring about people who decide to buy Runescape items doesn't mean one does it him/herself. It's the same as saying that anyone who doesn't like the newest update is a sammer. It's a fallacy to believe as much. Yes, yes. I know what you meant by 'you'.
  17. Yeah... So very, insanely jealous. I wish I could write highly opinionated articles while trying to hide them under the veil of 'truth'. :(
  18. Erm... Apparently you're still not understanding what I typed out. That's what I said he said and I then asked where were the other riots when changes were made to the wilderness that affected PK'ers since, according to Qeltar, we "always" riot. And, beyond that, how do 'riots' by the non-PK'ing groups play into his claim. I'm still waiting for an answer  Then you should get out more. If you would have spent more time on the RSOF, you would have seen his admissions as to how much he detests pures and PK'ers as a whole. It's not a big secret. You are what you are. If you're going to revel in another group's misery, speak out of your [wagon] when you don't PK and avoid the wilderness like the Ebola virus and then try to lump everyone into a group to fit your narrowmindedness, then I've NO problem in calling you an ignorant idiot. Not terribly. I, along with quite a few people, cares not a lick about RWT. If they want to spend their money on a game, more power to them. It didn't negatively affect me, so I could care less. *See a few responses ago*
  19. Which prior trolling attempts? Oh. You mean the last thread where I agreed with you yet you still tried to insult me lol? Riiight... The 'facts' (Remember those?) remain. You know nothing about PK'ing nor pures. You hold an irrational dislike of both groups. You can't provide any evidence to back any of your claims up aside from generalizations. Basically, your article = This image:
  20. *Points to Mel's post before his (Either on the second or first page, I forgot)* You could always ask him yourself. If he wants to tell you the truth, he will. It's not like I have a reason to lie. It's no big secret that most people's hatred of pures stems from the fact that they were attacked and/or killed by one while walking about the wilderness. Qeltar is a good example of this : All level 3's are macro'ers. Anyone under level 50 is a noob. Anyone over level 100 is a no lifer. All impures are stuck up snobs. There's a reason they're called generalizations.
  21. I dunno' why I'm going to do this. Anyway, pay close attention to this quote, especially the bolded word:
  22. Trying to label me as a troll now, are you? How original. We both know the reason you won't respond is because you have no response which doesn't expose you are the biased, opinionated and ignorant person that you are. For someone who advocates the 'truth', you sure hate objectivism. Subjectivity ftw! I'm not sure you know, but lemme' give you a little history lesson regarding Qeltar. A long time ago he decided to venture into the wilderness to slay green dragons, where he was unmercilessly killed by a pure. Since that time he's held an irrational dislike of pures and PK'ing, advocating numerous changes which would all but destroy both groups (He's even admitted as such). As far as he's concerned, PK'ing and pures are evil and all of Runescape problems stem from them. Never mind the fact that the 'facts' which he so desperately aims to convey but frequently ignores show differently. Oh well... I guess I'll just call him the FOX news of Runescape  He tells you what suits him and ignores what doesn't. Oh, and for the record, he's an example of him blaming everything on one group of people:
  23. Jagex's fixes are never permanent (Never have been and never will be). When people find a way to circumvent the rules, Jagex will just tighten the reigns on everyone else in their never ending quest for self-righteousness. I said this a long time ago and I'll say it again; Bots/macro'ers/RWT's are always two steps ahead of Jagex. Periodically Jagex will do something which chases them off for a bit, but they always come back.
