It becomes a point of major concern when Jagex can't seem to make anything sustainable other than RuneScape, and even then they're slowly sucking what morals it had right out. This is a really bad straw man. What does your statement have to do with mine, other than to try to make some false link between IVP and, say, Jagex deciding to axe Stellar Dawn? Seriously. I want to know. I don't have to made a long-winded post refuting the above, as it's a statement made out of gross ignorance. No company-- no investor-- sets out to actively ruin their investment. It's that simple. BTW> People complain when a "foreign industry" takes over a "domestic industry" because people have been led to believe that foreign = bad and domestic = good. You see it quite often.

This doesn't really interest me, but we'll see depending on the rewards.

I don't understand why people are complaining about one of Jagex's private investors. Would some of you rather have had the game go under (well, metaphorically speaking)? As far as Jagex censoring IVP on their forums, I don't see what the big deal is. It's really nothing that should be of concern to any Runescape player.

Then don't play it. Seems simple enough.

I know I started playing before February 27, 2002, which is the date Jagex is using to judge whether or not people's accounts are 10 years old, so I'm good. Feels kind of weird to think I've been playing Runescape (off and on) for 10 years now.

So I decided to test out the beta for a bit. I have to say that the shield abilities are just a tad bit overpowered. If anything, Jagex should make certain abilities dependent on the weapon/shield you use instead of simply on raw levels. I.e., instead of simply needing level X for ability Y, you need level X and item A for ability Y. That would allow for more abilities and a greater diversity in items people use.

Sucks. I was planning on fishing during the next bxp weekend. Oh well. All I really used bxp weekend for was herb and summon, and those are already 99 so it's no big loss.

They said "current". Jagex doesn't care if you were a member for 5 years straight if you aren't currently a member for at least a year. Why the surprise?

This has nothing to do with the topic at hand, but it's couldn't. The phrase is "couldn't care less".

This saddens me IMMENSELY. The old system isn't broken; just keep it. Granted I don't PK much anymore, but I essentially like how Jagex is giving me the middle finger and adding 90+ combat levels to my character because I happen to have 99 range/mage and 99 defense.

For the life of me, I don't understand why people take issue with how someone you'll more-than-likely never meet spends their money. It doesn't affect you any, outside of some psychological/mental/whatever you want to call it discomfort you get from the idea of someone "buying" items and or levels. If someone wants to dish out $200, or even $20,000, for the chance to win something nice (or even purely out of boredom), I say more power to them. Anyway, I figured the SoF was a total rip. I'm content to just get my daily free spins plus whatever free spins I get. It's not an exact log, but in like 15 spins I've gotten a dragon ceremonial hat or whatever it's called and 500K. I'm not sure how rare those are, but whatever.

Runescape community is 135th and tip.it is 604th. That's kind of funny. Anyway, it may or may not be rubbish. Since forum topics don't archive and you don't need to "register" to access the Runescape forums, it may indeed be the third largest on the internet as these would be untracked.

I fall into neither. Currently, I can't do any of the "mine/smith" effigies at all, and only up to nourished for the "fish/farm" (if I use an admiral pie). The rest I can do in one form or another. If I get one of those effigies I can't do on my own, I head right on over to W117 and get an assist. Henceforth why I really don't understand the complaining. If you're (and I mean "you" in the general sense of everyone complaining) *that* concerned with being able to do all of your effigies yourself, then stop killing things and waste three, four or five months getting the adequate levels so you can do them. You were going to raise your skills, anyway, so why not do it now. As the saying goes, there's no time like the present. Simple.

That's why you save them until you get to level 80+.

On a slightly unrelated note, I'd be willing to bet that there's a sizable portion of Runescape who was stockpiling effigies in hopes of getting massive experience in whatever future skill is released, if it ever is released, who are upset with this update because they can no longer stockpile them.
