***Same Moster, Diffrent Spawn, Better drop??
Sly_Wizard replied to bemes321's topic in General Discussion
I've always thought that the fire giants in the Wild drop better than the ones outside of the Wild. I killed thousands of fire giants inside the waterfall and never saw any dragon item, yet I killed around 200 fire giants in the Wild and got two spear drops. Meh... I might just be crazy, but that's my theory. -
Durial's interview gives 'scapers a bad rap
Sly_Wizard replied to Nazgul740's topic in General Discussion
I never said he was "Right". All I was saying is that he simply did what a large majority would have done if placed in his shoes. It's easy to say that you wouldn't when you weren't given the chance. But, as we all know, humans are motivated by greed and self-interest (Even if we try to believe otherwise) and will pursue those goals. I'm not going to say that everyone in Runescape wants to get rich and own a party hat or other rares, but I do know that a large of Runescape does. If you gave those people who desire a party hat the option to acquire one the way Durial had, I know that a large portion of Runescape would take it. That's really all I'm saying. -
Durial's interview gives 'scapers a bad rap
Sly_Wizard replied to Nazgul740's topic in General Discussion
It's the same reason as to why people scam others, even though they know they will more than likely be banned. Because the allure of riches superceeds everything else. Humans are motivated by greed and self-promotion. We like to think that we aren't, but we are. Anytime there is a chance at acquiring wealth, we take it. Consequences are rarely ever a deterring factor. To make a real world example, it's the same basis as which people willingly lie, steal, cheat and everything else just to get to the top (I know you've seen them, because some of them end up in jail, like the CEO's of Enron for example). Relating this to Runescape, though, when bugs are discovered people are likely to exploit them. People exploited the bug which allowed you to attack people who were playing CW's while you were in the lobby. People exploited the bug which allowed you to attack others inside of the abyss. People explotied the Guthix rest tea bug. People exploited the bug allowing you to use a prayer book in no armour duels. People exploited the bug allowing you to reap the rewards from the Waterfall quest over and over and over again. The list goes on and on and on. Given the chance, the majority of people would exploit bugs to promote their own self-interests. It's simply human nature. To deny as much would be to lie to yourself. -
I've gotten multiple bans from the RSO forums and have even gotten a three day ban in-game, yet I don't have any black marks on my account. Maybe the Runescape gods are looking down on me?

Durial's interview gives 'scapers a bad rap
Sly_Wizard replied to Nazgul740's topic in General Discussion
Before you criticize him, think about what you would do if you had the ability to atack people outside of the Wild without them being able to attack you back. Over 90% of Runescape would go on a rampage. The allure of riches would be too great for most people to ignore. Human's are greedy and naturally evil (That is, everyone has evil tendencies). Given the chance to acquire an extreme amount of wealth with no risk, most people would take it. It's human nature. He just did what numerous people have thought about doing (Don't sit here and tell me that you've NEVER thought about being able to attack someone outside of the Wild). It's always easy to say you wouldn't do so when you're not given the chance to do it. Of course, given the chance to do, most people would. That's just my $.02 8-) Edit: It's the same as people being able to attack people playing CW's from the waiting room for their items or mages being able to attack people inside of the abyss. Whenever there's an opportunity to profit with little risk, people will take it. It's not just a "Durial" thing. I'm sure that many people pointing the finge at him would have done the same thing given the chance. -
a durial321 interview (attack abuse bug)
Sly_Wizard replied to oldstyle's topic in General Discussion
While it's easy to name call Durial and what-not, let's face the facts. Given the opportunity to attack people outside of the Wild, I can safely say that over 90% of Runescape would have done the very same thing that he did. The only difference between him and that 90%, though, is that he had that chance and they didn't. But given that chance, I'm fairly sure that many of you who are finger pointing would have done the same thing and gone on a killing spree. It's easy to say you wouldn't when you weren't given the chance. That's just my $.02. -
Meh... I'm pretty sure if he offered you 100M for his items back you'd gladly accept it. I know I would 8-)

Isn't this the fifth or sixth time that Jagex has issued a statement saying that they have improved their auto'er detection system? I'm pessimistic.

Doesn't the majority of rune essence come from f2p anyway? I don't know too many members who spend their time mining rune essence...
-
Don't waste your time. Train mage instead.
-
I know I've definitely hit a 25 with it before, but I believe the max is 26 (99 range + range pot + accurate).
-
I'm probably the only person in Runescape who does this, but I make sure to bury every single bone I run across (No matter what kind it is). If people don't bury their bones and I'm near, I'll bury their bones as well (It's kinda' a pet peeve. I can't stand it when people don't bury their bones, but that's a different story). Anyway, I was wondering how many people still bother to bury the bones they run across when training or if you do as the rest of Runescape does and ecto dragon bones for your prayer experience. IMHO, it seems a waste to not bury any bone you come across. Even the paltry experience of regular bones starts to add up after a while. (By the way, I have 83 prayer and have never bought, nor ectoed, a bone before.)

Log-In Screen Glitch! - Video Animation Included!
Sly_Wizard replied to namename's topic in General Discussion
I'm not sure if this has been said, but it's been that way for as long as I can remember. -
I wouldn't say I have horrible luck, but it takes me an abnormally amount of time to receive a good drop from any NPC. Basically, whatever the estimated drop rate of an item is from a certain NPC, it's multiplied by about ten for me. I think it has something to do with the number of characters in your RS name (Including spaces) or something.

I hate the fact that Jagex changed the ladder to a lever. In my opinion that was the dumbest idea ever created. Solo PK'ing at mage bank is all but dead.
-
Yet another maxed player. Post thoughts here
Sly_Wizard replied to Uula's topic in General Discussion
I'd say congratz but, to me, something seems so wrong about abandoning your real life to play RS. To each his own, I suppose :? -
has anyone ever had this come with a reply?
Sly_Wizard replied to Raven6666's topic in General Discussion
I've gotten that before. It just means that you can reply to the query. -
Hidden update! Jagex uglified infinity boots. When you wear them the left boot looks flat and deformed :?
-
I'll wait until someone posts a reward. I'm fairly sure the reward from this quest is going to be crappy. Therefore unless the reward is something super useful, I'll not bother doing this one.
-
Apparently all the barrows items are going into your bank :( Either Jagex seriously loves you or you're just one lucky mofo.
-
Well... I know that when I did the quest I had a friend help me kill the zombie/ghost/skeleton thingie at the end. I only had to get the final hit for it to count. This I know because the first time I fought it my friend accidently got the final hit, causing me to have to re-fight all of it's forms. I don't know if Jagex has changed it since then but, if that's still true, then it's entirely possible that he could have done Shilo village at level 3. Very hard, but entirely possible. ...Though, I wonder how he got past all the Undeads in that cave without them killing him.

You did?

I will 8)

Does no one here have a RoS to test this out with?
