  1. Or add a bookmark... 1 click winner is me. And the efficiency discussion begins... :wall:
  2. I find that any time I die when monster hunting, I'm risking enough to set me back a while in getting my stuff back. It doesn't help that I've had terrible luck with drops, and suck at prayer switching and stuff either i guess. I do think that you kind of have to risk something to have a chance though. Anything that is a pain to get I hate to risk, like void or chaotic. Tormented demons ate my void :wall: and now I have to get my stats up and void back to go back...
  3. I don't usually bash on Jagex, but they really did explain the prestige/reset very poorly considering how not complicated it is.
  4. :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: This was the beginning of my mining phase...it was painful, except for the day or two where seemingly every rock in the mining guild had like 7 coals... I do not miss not being able to see combat levels either. Such a useful feature
  5. ah... now i get it... thank you
  6. ya so i guess medium dungeons are not worth it either then? cause that takes too long.
  7. So the top dungeoneerers are running through every single level after each time they reset?
  8. Is there anyone who can clarify exactly how to use the reset function? The guide does a poor job explaining it. It seems like when i reset my progress, I try to start 5 levels back in a dungeon, and my prestige exp suffers a little. Not as much as if i didn't reset, though. Is the only way to maximize this exp to go through all the dungeon levels again? If so, this seems like a waste, since all the levels up to about 5 before your max seem to not be worth it.
  9. lol @ people who complain about 6 dollars with so many other hours of gameplay available. Anyone here who works at a restaurant knows that the product they make and sell for $6 takes considerably less time, effort, and frustration. Just saying, kids... if you are upset at the lack of a TT update because of technical issues, you remind me of It's a game... There's also the fact that runescapers tend to go overboard when there is the slightest issue with anything, so why would they release it with the problems...?
  10. So true, so true... on topic: I rarely use familiars for combat simply because i'm only level 60 summoning and therefore don't have access to the good combat familiars. Think of it this way... I am 116 combat, how is anything less than level 100 going to help me?
  11. Seems like dclaw prices will go up more. Hopefully the whiners will be satisfied with the legal at the bottom? Does anyone else feel like the new pc turn-based game is going to be a bust?
  12. When is tip.it going to take action against these cheaters? Anyone advertising illegal behavior should not be allowed to use these forums, imho. Except, this person is not advertising illegal behavior... :wall:
  13. Since I've been playing since 2002 and have gotten about 5 or 6 rare item drops total(the best was dragon platelegs), i still get excited at it. My luck is pretty bad with that stuff, which is why i have put such a focus on skills instead of combat until recently. Maybe when I get my void back and stop lagging out at my first tormented demon, that luck will change
  14. The only bots I really care about are at pest control, as they directly hurt the outcome of the game for everyone
  15. I'm confused as to the boundaries between rich and poor. I mean, I'm certainly not getting richer, but my wealth isn't going down either. How can I not belong to either group?
  16. I'd really like to be in the top 100k overall again. Before I started college, I played year round and had a rank somewhere around 60,000. I've had trouble keeping up with new skills and stuff the last 3 years and fell behind a lot. Either way, it's not really my goal in the game, just something that would make me feel more like I accomplished something with the game.
  17. 1. A slightly different solution could have achieved the same effect. 2. Jagex refuses to admit to the above, and attempts to cover up their blunder. Yeah, but... would that slightly different solution not bring millions to the same people that made millions off this, thus creating the same mass of unlucky, envious scapers who think that they know for certain that no one has ever, EVER paid 75k for these boots before? After all, the different solution you speak of is only SLIGHTLY different. Honestly, I played the game for 4 days without noticing the changes with the boots even happened. I still wouldn't know if i didn't check these forums ever now and again. It does not affect gameplay at all. And if you are complaining that people who hoarded the boots are instant millionaires now do to luck, how is this any different from getting a lucky monster drop? OT: (since this post is not technically about boots) It is true that it is a lot easier to lose respect than earn it. But, for 6 bucks a month, JaGeX has done very little to lose any respect from me. In fact, the only thing I can think of is wasting so much development resources on MA (lets face it, the game isn't amazing). All in all, I think they deserve respect. I know the demographic I hate dealing with the most at my job is 13-15 year old kids, I would not be able to deal with the immaturity JaGeX puts up with. Hell, I can't even stand the way most RS players type anymore. Monster drops are supposed to be governed by risk vs reward. Risk of dying on each kill vs the chance at millions. This had no risk, just luck. Offical Jagex number is highest is 1.8k or 81mil. Jagex might as well have dropped a few rares to a select lucky group of people. What about all the time players with 1.8k boots would have had to put in to get those?? It's not like you can go on the GE and just buy 1800 virtually worthless items (except eye of newt, which i never understand)

  19. Oh yeah, forgot about that spell but i find the runes and getting the actual spell takes time which could be uses for mining but whatever suits you. One other thing is the "Enchanted water tiara" which also refills water skins, I believe that item can be obtained from the "Dealing with Sacabras" ( or however you spell it) quest. I've never used both items before, so i don't have conclusive knowledge on which is best. I was under the impression you did not need waterskins if you had the tiara. Anyway, Sweet guide...
  20. When was it ever harder? Back in rsc, you didn't have to drop ores cause once you were full they would drop themselves...
  21. Say no to DDOS'ing punks on these forums, anyone? Anyway, that really sucks dude. Good luck getting it all back.
  22. And i suppose the time spent to get the obscure teleport tabs doesn't outweigh the time it takes to just walk there? :wall: :wall: On Topic: I'd go with water tabs for actual runecrafting and do the falador thing, and i'd get essence and just sell it if you're looking for good money.
  23. Btw this is the type of answer i was looking for haha. I've only yet done one of those and it already told me 4 major things i'd like to unlock
  24. Yeah i probably should have been more specific. I have 153 qp, and have done almost all the quests released before legends, and very few after that. The only one i can really remember being Smoking Kills and its prerequisite quests, as i just did those, upon hearing their importance to slayer. I'll maybe add a list in a few.
  25. Agree. The general way I usually think of combat is: Attack - how often you'll hit and how well you will take advantage of your... Strength - how much damage you'll do when you don't miss due to your opponents... Defense - how you avoid damage my "dodging" the offense from your enemy's ... Attack - ....... A weapon will add attack bonuses and strength bonuses which are countered by... Armor that sometimes helps defense reduce the damage when you don't completely avoid... A weapon... Double agree! I was really worried when, on the first page, no one mentioned anything like this  Another thing to take into account is Max Hit. I don't own a godsword, but i see people with my stats and equipment basically doubling my max hit with whip. So let's say your max hit is(just to make the numbers easy) 20 with whip, 40 with godsword. Hell, lets give the whip the advantage by saying they have the same chance of hitting ( which we know they don't because of attack bonuses). Now let's say you have an equal chance of hitting any number between 1 and your max every time you hit. This means 50% of all hits by a godsword would be above your max with a whip... Now i'm no mathematician, but if half of my hits with one weapon are always above all of my hits with another weapon, that kind of cancels out a 2:1 speed difference, and you states that the difference here is 3:2. Now factor in the bonuses, and you'll find the godsword also hits more often. I dunno though maybe i'm just noob... I did just return from a very long break haha
