Speed is pretty negligible? Tier 6 speed has a 20% speed advantage over Tier 5. That is, for every 5 attacks you make with a Longsword, you'd make 6 with a Rapier. While it's tempting to say the ratio works the other way for strength (the Longsword has approximately 20% more strength bonus than the Rapier), a +35 strength bonus from other gear reduces this advantage to a mere 14%. And it's easy to get this, and more. Finally, strength bonus doesn't proportionally reflect in the damage dealt. 99 Strength and 136 strength bonus hits ~340, all other factors aside. 99 Strength and 155 Strength Bonus hits ~370. That's not even a 10% improvement in damage, and this is distorted further by the use of potions and prayers... in the favor of the faster weapon. Disregarding accuracy entirely, the Rapier is definitely superior to the Longsword in situations where DPS outweighs your maximum hit. I've tested the Abyssal Whip against General Graardor and Commander Zilyana fairly recently, and found that at high levels, the Abyssal Whip can match the Godsword. This is with Overload Potions, Turmoil, and maxed combat skills. The Abyssal Whip has a 50% speed advantage over the Godsword, while the Godsword has a 60% attack and strength advantage over the Abyssal Whip. In contrast, the Rapier has a 20% speed advantage over the Longsword, while the Longsword has a 32% attack and 20% strength advantage over the Rapier. I think it's close enough that no one can really say for sure which one is going to be better. More likely than not, it's not one-size-fit-all: the Rapier is probably better for some people, while the Longsword is probably better for others. Until people actually have obtained them and tested them, no one can say for sure... all we have is the stats given to us in the Knowledge Base. Too much of this is still guess-work, and based off of information that is very often wrong. Also, this doesn't take into account Batch 2 rewards... I maintain that until the weapons have been earned and used, dismissing items is misleading and ignorant.

Ummm, could you give some of us a rough guide on H&A? It seems that a well organised 5 man prestige 35 team will get great xp, amirite? I know you duo'd, but I saw this screenie of 18k xp at floor 21 was like :o. Play 5:5 Large dungeons with prestige maxed on unexplored dungeons. The deeper the better. And don't die. I personally scored over 19K experience on a single floor (I want to say it was floor 20), and I routinely earn over 10K per dungeon (I normally play with 4 since it's a little difficult to get that many people online for long sessions like this). The best way, honestly, is to get a group of people with at least 15-20 dungeoneering. Have everyone reset, and play through together, one floor at a time. People behind on prestige will catch up fairly quick and you won't be prestige-locked by your level until you're way past level 50, since every dungeon should be giving you 2-3 levels (except the first couple).

Out of curiosity, how many people are playing exclusively with groups? So far, I have yet to be prestige-locked (unable to gain prestige due to having too low of a dungeoneering level). I play with 3-5 man teams, the larger the better, with maximum dungeon size and difficulty. I might be training slower but it's definitely less boring, plus gives us some flexibility in how we play. But even at level 40+, I'm gaining 2 to 3 levels with each floor I complete...

Okay maybe that's the case... can't try though since none of us are 99 Hunter anyways. :P So now that you've explained that one, what about this? There's no option to mine it. You can't right click on it at all. But it still blocks your way...

Someone mind explaining how this should be done? There's no potion that boosts hunter, and invisible boosts don't work...

Yes, it seems bosses only have a specified drop list. The more people in your team, the higher level the boss, thus the higher chance of dropping a higher item (but even solo you can sometimes get tier 11 drops). Question, where is the Unholy Cursebearer? My 3-man team literally ran through levels 12 to 17 about 3 times, and never once saw it.

If it was the icefiend boss I've had that happen too, and I believe the reason for it is so you can't gatestone out while it does it's icicle dropping special and re-enter when the special was over. That can't be it since I was unable to teleport after I killed the boss already. I could walk out of the room, but not teleport out.

Actually, although the Knowledge Base says you need 3-5 players to play a Large Dungeon, you actually need 4 players to START a large dungeon. Once it's been started, if the amount of players falls below two, you actually get a message saying that there are too few players to continue so the dungeon will end in a few minutes. When I experienced this, it said 14 minutes, but once one of the two players who left returned, the game didn't end. So my understanding is, One player - Can start a small dungeon. Two players - Can start a small or medium dungeon. Three players - Can start a small or medium dungeon. Four players - Can start a small, medium, or large dungeon. Five players - Can start a small, medium, or large dungeon. Once the dungeon is started, small and medium dungeons can be continued by any amount of players. Large dungeons can only be continued by three or more players. However, I've noticed a lot of inconsistency in Dungeoneering so this is probably inaccurate - someone probably has very different experiences with this game. Has anyone ever had trouble tele-ing out of the boss room? For some reason, during one specific boss fight, it told me I could not teleport from that room (either Home Teleport or Gatestone Teleport gave me the same message, both before and during the fight). My friend who was playing with me at the time had the same problem. However, this was the only time I ever saw this message. I thought it was a glitch at first, but then that same friend experienced it again fairly recently? Of course, he also has Dory-syndrome and doesn't remember the first time. >.<

You can't prove it as fact, only to a certain significance level. Would it be overreaching to request the actual significance level used in the testing, and the data?
-
= New Chaotic Items =
Dismissive much? You can't tell me what will and won't work if you don't even know how the effect works. You can guess, you can theorize, and you may be able to prove it to a certain significance level, but that's all.

I know that's what you said, but Jagex specifically stated that you should consider choosing the amount of players below the amount you actually have, specifically for this scenario. If you had five people and chose a five person dungeon, that's you stating "no one's going to leave, or if they are, those who stay are going to be able to cover for them." If you can't say that, then you should not be playing on a 5-person difficulty.

Woah, what food is that? Skinweaver? Blue Crab and Salve Eel Potatoes. Cave Moray is a bit harder to get but you start with some.

I'd like to point out that Jagex specifically states not to set the difficulty to 5 people if you're not certain everyone will stay the whole time. Even then, they state that it may be better to set it to 4 or even 3 people's difficulty... Also, seeing as you have easy access to food that heals nearly 400 a bite, and the beast is only hitting one of what SHOULD be five people hitting it, it should be no problem. Especially if 2-3 of them can cast vengeance and are putting it on the person soaking up the hits.

Yup, as far as I can tell (so far) this applies to the luminescent icefiend, stomp, and sagittare. Btw you notice that after you get stomp down to 1/3 health he starts doing a STUPID ammount of damage? He was hitting me for EXACTLY 247 damage constantly like my armor wasn't even there. I didn't notice that. His attacks seemed fairly weak, and only hit about as often as I could veng myself. I had more trouble with his special attacks. The first two times he used them, debris blocked my access to one of the two lodestones, so that I was unable to place a crystal there. I couldn't mine it away or anything, and I don't know if this is intentional (because he healed to full HP both times). Good thing this didn't happen when he was almost dead. Also, to the person asking about doors with high level requirements: Besides potions, you can use summoning to boost your skills. Hoardstalker familiars (the foraging ones) offer an invisible skill boost ranging from 1 to 10. This means that there could conceivably be requirements of 110+ plus in a skill. Invisible boosts should not affect skill requirements. Invisible boosts just help you with tasks you can already achieve. For example, improving your success rate with cooking, or reducing the chance of hurting yourself while crafting.

Did you know there's been a Rapier available in Runescape for a very, very long time?
-
= New Chaotic Items =
Hit the nail on the head. Also, the "vids" is really just one vid... and only pertaining to the Leaf-Bladed Sword. Which doesn't answer anything with regards to magic (I've tried testing this myself, never once hit the darn beast), hastas (spears-but-not-really-spears), and other non "standard" weapons (rapiers, flails, anchors). The only one that's actually been 100% proven is the Dark Bow...
-
= New Chaotic Items =
What "fact"? I've heard many, many different statements of what this damage reduction does. "Spear" isn't clear at all. To my knowledge, there's no reason to believe (or to believe otherwise) that weapons are given specific classifications. So what defines a spear? Is it the word "spear" in the name? Does that mean if tomorrow, a Jagex employee instructed to change "Zamorakian Spear" to "Spear of Zamorak" accidentally types "Spaer of Zamorak", that weapon would now suffer a 50% damage penalty? If it's a type, then what type is a Rapier? Has there been a class for a Rapier ever since the first (and to my knowledge, only, until Dungeoneering) for years? For just this one weapon? Is it a sword? Is it a longsword? What type is a Hasta? What type is a Barrelchest Anchor? What type is the Staff of Light? Like I said, I've heard those who hunt the Corporeal Beast say it's "all non-spear stabbing attacks." I've heard some say "all non-spear attacks." I've also heard "Range, longsword, and swords." All that is "fact" is that the Corporeal Beast applies a 50% damage penalty to the Dark Bow. And that it very likely applies to Leaf-Bladed Sword and Vesta's Longsword, when stabbing. That doesn't explain what exactly is in effect, nor does it say anything as to how it effects the new weapons.

= New Chaotic Items =
Actually, what you've shown is Corp might halve Leaf-Bladed Swords and Vesta Long Swords. That says absolutely nothing about others. What about the Hasta? I know no one uses it, but it's a one-handed spear. The word Hasta is latin for Spear. What classifies a weapon as a "spear" and what doesn't? I know there's a 50% damage reduction in place, primarily because Dark Bow special attack damage is halved. But we don't know what it effects, and "non-spears" is most certainly wrong. Doesn't poison work to full effect? Poison is not a spear. I also remember using the Dragon Dagger on the Corp a long time ago to decent effect. It could effect Hastas. It might not. It could affect Rapiers. It could not. It could even be a given list of weapons, in which case, Jagex may or may not have added the new Chaotic Weapons to that list. For all you know, the Chaotic Longsword could do double damage to the Corp... I'd also like to point out I've heard a million forms of this. Some people say it halves range damage. Some people say it halves non-spears. Some people say it halves STABBING non-spears. Some people say it halves Swords and Longswords. Hastas get reduced too, if it literally has the word "spear" in it it doesn't get reduced, or you would be seeing hasta + shield over lbs Poison is not a weapon Hastas get reduced, and surely rapiers will too For all you know Chaotic Longsword may hit 10x higher on all dragons, still doesn't mean its going to happen Do you actually have proof that Hasta's get reduced? I don't see videos of it anywhere. What about rapiers? There already ARE rapiers in this game. Have they actually been tried? And we've only recently gotten a melee weapon that gets a nice damage and attack bonus against Dagannoths - Balmung. It's quite possible, especially as they have no special attack, that the Chaotic Weapons may get a bonus somewhere... why not against the Corporeal Beast?

Dungeoneering now the new slowest skill to level?
Slayer can not possibly be the slowest. If you really set your heart to slaying quickly, 40k+ per hour rates are easily manageable. Runecrafting, for one, is certainly slower (I've heard Ourania only goes up to 25k-30k per hour).

Rofl, have you ever pked my friend? Maul with no special will be crap. Fast medium hits that outhit your opponents food > High slow hits that your enemy can eat away from. Ever seen a whip where it combo's 5 40+ hits in a row? gl eating that out. regular pking != friendly dms where people dont run when they run out of food and for those who bashed the guy saying corp halves non spears: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZcoi9wiSRc I don't think the max you can hit is 22 if there is no reduction, when you can punch 30s in that gear 1:17, one of them hits a 29. They even mention it in chat. If it truly halves damage, that means you hit 58s with Leaf-bladed sword... I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't think I've hit a 58 on Corp even with a Zamorakian Spear. EDIT: Going through the video again, his gear seems as follows: Helm of Neitiznot (+3) Dragon Boots (+4) Berserker Ring (+4 or +8) Amulet of Fury (+8) Fire Cape (+4) Gloves (+12) Dragonfire Shield (+7) Leaf-Bladed Sword (+50) This yields either +96 or +92 strength bonus. Aggressive, Extreme Strength, and Piety yields a max hit of 419 / 408, which would be a 41 or 40. Factoring in Turmoil, the real max hit is probably 42 to 45. Obviously, it wasn't halved, because this is nowhere close to 58.
