  3. That's a really really great thing you did, magekillr. Very very nice of you. ^_^
  4. exactly... why should i give them my money when their too lazy to get a job and all they spend it on is ciggerettes, pot crack and booze I hear a lot of people say homeless people should go get a job. Well let's think about this. When you go in for a job interview you always make you sure dress to impress. Well a homless person can't afford nice clothes. So he's going to walk into the interview in the clothes he wears every day and on top of that he might not have showered in a long time. Who wants to buy food from a guy who smells like their trash can? And how is the company even supposed to contact a homeless person since they don't have a phone? Just a little something to think about before you say homeless people should go gets jobs.. Don't they ask for your address and stuff like that too? I know it's hard for homeless people to get a job. :( No one wants a homeless person to work for them anyway.
  5. Yes. I will give it to them if they don't get up in my face and beg. Recently, I saw a couple on the side of the road near our local Wal-Mart. The man was holding up a sign that said, "Homeless. Hungry. Need gas money." I parked in the Wal-Mart parking lot and me and a friend of mine went over to them to give them some money. They were very very kind people and I had no idea how they had gotten themselves into the situation they were in, but I gave them five dollars of the money that I had worked to get. My friend gave them three. With that money and the money that had collected from the other people around us, they had enough money to get some gas and some food, and they were gone before my friend and I emerged from shopping at Wal-Mart. However, there have been times when I haven't given homeless people money. I was in Memphis, TN on Beale Street. That place is known for... not being very safe. There was a homeless guy there who would follow people and beg and beg and beg for change. Needless to say, I didn't give him any, because he smelled like booze, and he was just plain annoying.
  6. Mmmm... Now you're making me crave one!
  7. =D> That's amazing! Love your voice! ^_^
  8. When my anxiety and depression used to be really bad, I couldn't eat anything in the morning, otherwise I would be very very sick. When I got on medication, I was able to eat in the morning and it really makes a difference. :D I've gotten to the point where if I don't eat something in the morning, the rest of my day is terrible. :lol:
  9. I'm sorry if I didn't make my post clear enough. I said that women should be treated equally in politics, work, and the military. But, in other situations, and even in those situations above, men should be chivalrous toward women and vice versa.
  10. Glad to see you have a great respect for those who have fought and died to defend something, Jackalope. ^_^ I too, have HUGE respect to anyone who would go to war, knowing they may die just so that they can defend something or someone. If there was an imminent war, and we are in imminent danger, I would go to war in a heartbeat to protect my family and friends, even though others wouldn't. I have nothing but the utmost respect for those who would do the same, or who would even honor those who would do the same. As for me, both my grandfathers are veterans. One of them is a veteran of WWII, though he is dead now. The other is a veteran of the Korean War. I also have a friend in the Air Force, and another in the Marines. To bloodkilla: You are entitled to your own opinion, but not to be disrespectful. Remember that there are probably some people here who have lost brave loved ones in war. People who go to war and die died protecting someone they loved, or died protecting something they believed in. They're much more brave than you'll ever be. Those who died in war have been through things you could never even imagine. It's your kind of ignorance and complete unwillingness to have respect for anything or anyone that is turning the world into what it is today. Think about someone else besides yourself occasionally. You'll benefit from it.
  11. If you operate that both ways that's fine, however I know of plenty of women who will rant about equality when it comes to cleaning up or cooking, but not when it comes to them expecting their husbands to clean out the guttering, fix the car or move heavy things. Oh yeah. My mom is that way. I guess I've kinda learned not to be that way by watching the way she treats my dad sometimes.
  12. Aaawwww... That makes me really sad to read that. :(

    What's more annoying is that the Europeans won't be getting FFXII for a looong time. :( That's sad. :( *Mails my copy to you*
  14. I believe in equal opportunities for men and women in the workforce, military, and politics. You know, a woman shouldn't get paid less for a job that a man gets paid more for, stuff like that. A woman would also be as competent a president (or in any other political office) as a man. Women and men are different though. I believe we think differently, and since I do appreciate someone to have manners, I do expect to be treated like a woman by a man. In other words, I don't want a man walking up to me and punching me in the arm like he would his buddies. I do believe that men shouldn't hit women, but if a woman hits a man first and really hurts him, then she's on her own. I don't like to stereotype men, therefore, I don't want to be stereotyped. I don't want a man to expect me to stay in the kitchen and make babies. I don't want a man to expect me to clean up after him. If a woman wants to be a construction worker, more power to her. If a man wants to deliver babies, or be a nurse, then, he's perfectly within his rights to.
  15. I'm home alone right now. I was sick today and didn't go to school. :( I love being home alone. It's really fun. ^_^ If you're scared, just lock your doors. ^_^ You'll be alright.

    I like how everyone was obsessed with it, people were going crazy, saying it was too violent, blah blah blah.... And then, Final Fantasy XII came out and everyone shut up. :P Anyway, I have yet to play this game, but I would love to. A friend of mine has it and really likes it! :D
  17. There will be no Lionheart bashing in this thread!!! None! :evil: I will punish you all, should you go against my wishes.
  18. I completely agree. I think it's just a fad. I'm tired of seeing orange people. O.O
  19. :lol: That's the kind of tan I have! No really, I'm so pale, my Art teacher felt the need to point it out to the class. "My dad was a very light-skinned man... though, he wasn't as pale as Kayla over there."
  20. I'm not a grammar Nazi. :P As far as I'm concerned, if you read something that is misspelled and you can understand the meaning of what the person was saying, then there's no need to correct them. However, if you can't understand a word of what they say, then you can ask them what they meant, but not flame them. It's not something worth getting your blood pressure up, or losing sleep over... Which is what I think some people here do. :lol:

  23. Well, I read your post this morning and I didn't have time to post a reply, so I've been thinking on it all day. :D Like others have said, there are many other ways to get scholarships and to even go to college. You could take out student loans and repay them later on, or you could simply get another kind of scholarship, one for academics or something else. You don't have to rely on a golf scholarship. If you like where you are and like the friends that you have, (your girlfriend goes to your school, right?) then I see no reason why you shouldn't stay where you are. Explain to your dad that you are comfortable where you are right now in life and that you don't want to go through the stress of moving to another school. Tell him that you'll find some other way to gain a scholarship or find the money to go to college. I'm sure he knows there are other ways as well. And since you are going to be a Junior next year (I'll be a senior. ^_^) try and think about your future and investigate financial aid and colleges a little bit. The more informed you are about college life and the money required, the better you'll feel, and it could also help to have some information under your belt should you talk to your dad about it. I hope things work out for you.
  24. Religion and other beliefs for that matter are things that people feel very strongly about. Because they feel strongly about such things, they can often act zealous about their beliefs, whether it be expressing them, or debating them with another person. There are a few things that I feel strongly about, and know that I can be overzealous to the point of disrespect. It's just a human mistake, and it's hard to realize that you're doing it.
