  1. i totally agree with most of the people, that rares will drop for a bit then rise back to what they were or higher (go back to the release of construction to know what i mean) people will first rush to sell and rares will fall till they get to a point, settle for a bit, then go straight back up after they realise its alchemy that causes inflation rather than stakers... its quite true, sell a rare to a shop and you get few few gp. However, sell the same rare to a player and you can expect a fair amount more. Van Gogh (sp) never expected money for his paintings and died poor, but now the art sells for millions - its all down to the buyers choice, and what theyre willing to pay rather than actual material value. quite true, those little dyed paper hats are indeed pixels, but at the same time they are a status symbol and an achievement... a game is half as fun without the competition, be it money, skills, or just who has the most original way of killing a cow (rubber chicken ftw : )
  2. I disagree with that, there are loads of well thought out rants which have some very good points. I've also had some very good discussions there, I like that place! i agree that some people can make a well thought out rant. unfortunatly to find them you have to wade through the stupid ones :wall: personally i find moaning about moaner just as bad as the moaners, but there you go =/ perhaps there should be two subforums in the rants section: 'smart, well thought out complaints, with acceptable problems and feasable suggestions' (2-3 comments a day) and 'the rest' (2-3000000 comments a day oh, and on the topic of stupid posts, i thought this one would make people smile:  (the post got locked after 5 comments, wonder why...)
  3. i have a feeling that, skulled or not, you would instantly become a flashing beacon for every pker within a mile if you so much as stood next to the wildy with that thing... if you go pking with one, youre bound to get mobbed soon after becoming skulled. despite being a one hitter against any 'honorable' pker, a faster rush of smite + dds specs will take you down and your 'protect item' prayer with it. and secondly, i think if you die with the sword, it would stay in one peice for the lucky [cabbage] who just killed you. a d-fire sheild or the d-square doent break apart when you lose it, so i doubt the all-powerful god sword would :P
  4. impressive hits, but i dont think itll get nerfed. as far as i can tell, the hilt and shards are all extremely hard to get, and getting all three+chosen hilt costs a hefty sum. unlike the other nerfed weapons (barrelchest anchor, whip, d scimmy(?)) this will remain to be an uncommon weapon, where the other nerfed stuff involved killing only one hardish monster for a quest with an effectively 100% drop. the exception is a whip, but im sure they must be coming into the game at 1 or more an hour with the amount of 85+ slayers. compare this to the godsword, where you have to kill a large number of hard monsters and be very lucky 4 times to get the sword without buyng it...
  5. although WHAT he is saying is true, most of WHY he says is is not, imo miniclip was NOT the first immature point of RS - i started a few months before the infamous ad came up, and there were still some immature little [cabbages] playing (admittedly less) the graphics havent got worse as you say, just not improved as much - i cannot remember any blood/gore in the game ever, and i find the cartoony graphics kind of unique for runescape, compared to the almost realistic, lifelike (and terribly slow on my graphics card) games of today. grinding too, was and is a major part of the game. the only people who dont like the faster easier methods are those who had to grind there way in the first place, such as lvl 99 classic players. these people moan that its is too hard for them, whilst being too easy for people today i cannot think of any game (other than the hardcore rp ones which require you you right a small essay to start and a number of people to vote for you to join) that do not have problems based around immaturity. unfortunatly, rather than just a problem for jagex, i find that kids in real life are becoming worse, and all the 'nanny state' culture is a real problem too (in uk, not sure about rest of world) personally im glad that you quit, and i think anyone who agrees with him should go to. somehow i doubht youll find any online multiplayer game without immaturity, and as far as im concerned, half the people who moan are just as bad... (bring on the flames  )
  6. {quote=the huge number of quotes above me} i think firstly, that when apcrump said 'what a load of [cabbages]' i believe he (or she : ) meant the conspiricy, not the apparent gender of the player in discussion. it's amazing how things can get extreme over a mix up of a he/she issue, whilst the matter of a bribery theory is ignored (perhaps its the illuminati (sp) back to work again :anxious: ) slightly off topic, i notice that both that picture of the previously named female player, and many "paperazzi printscreens" of the no.1 player, both wear gilded armour. another conspiricy perhaps? :D
  7. to be honest in a business way, and if i were jagex, i wouldn't report on EVERY single banning, just give a clear image that it is going on. i mean, who would play a game with the first page: WELCOME TO RUNESCAPE! 100k BANNED TODAY! thats like: WELCOME TO TEXAS! 381 EXECUTIONS SINCE 1976! (no dig on texas there, real fact)
  8. if that were the case, how much do you think someone would have to pay for 200m construction? if you worked from 13m exp (around lvl99) to 200m exp thats 187m to go... apparently the most effixcient way of training is oak planks, giving 60exp and currently costing around 450gp each... *quick number crunching* thats over THREE MILLION oak planks, costing a mind boggling 1.4 BILLION gold :ohnoes: i would greatly applaud the first person to max construction, but if they would burn that much on one skill, how much would the rest be? and how long would maxed out slayer take...
  9. awsome hits =D> and there was me being proud of a 40 when the anchor came out... you say you wont try the place of the undead monkeys and falling rocks eh? how about the dungeon straight under the temple thing, with the lava bits and the snake cooking spot for rfd... do the 120+ zombie monkeys have more health? if so, no rocks drop there ^^
  10. i still prefer impulsives tunter one, but im adding my quest cape (unfortunatly, i cannot wear this currently - f2p and not done newest quest - but i got all stff in bank ^^
  11. i think the place will end up being a new home for the beggers of runescape. as soon as someone even mentions the words 'drop party at party petes' they will swarm the place :XD: oh yeah, im currently f2p so i may have a look at the place. i wont drop anything of course 'cos im a stingy git \
  12. i have a feeling that the prayers will be used so much more in the wildy for high levels, but the large amount of lvl1 payer pures will class it as dishonorable to use simlarly to the use of teleports or other prayer really - anything a pure ranger/ddser cant use seem to be against the honor system :wall:
  13. i agree that it is annoying when you cannot write some simple, unoffensive text without it being censored - try selling something for 400k for example it's a shame that many people have the problem of blurting out swear words while writing - it must take the user some thought into what they are typing. At least with cursing out loud after you have just walked into a tree or something is more realistic, because many of us do it without thinking (the swearing i mean, not walking into a tree...) i think that the filter should only block out direct swearing, using full legible words. If a person has to put effort into writing curses with 1337 sp33k, he should get at least a black mark. someone who put so much effort fiding numbers to replace letters in a curse could of just as easily said less abusive things, like "darn it" and "please go away". i think this would mean we could speak normally without having basic things censored because someone has been able to make 400k look like swearing... oh yeah, and the 13+ think aplies to england as well - runescape is classed as a chat site like habbo and myspace, meaning users must be 13+ before they can give information online. or something like that (cant remewmber law exacty). here is the quote directly from runescapes privacy policy http://www.runescape.com/privacy/privacy.ws i hope that clears things up. i put in bold the quote about communicating for preteens. (i noticed the teenager dificulty section (highlighted in red) which does not agree with much of runescapes stuff... another subject of discussion for a later time perhaps)
  14. a black(g) plate... after i put it in there :wall: i was selling a bunch of cheap stuff to the store, and the plate was right next to a pile of willow bows... it had gone before i realised i even put it in the store - noticed i gained a few gp but it was too late #-o oh, and ive also seen a couple of mage seeds, which i quickly bought for a reasonable profit
  15. is it just me, but do you not find the runescape music repetitive and tedious after constantly walking through similar areas regularly. i keep the music off now, after it started to burn my ears... however, i think the original login music is the best: "scape original" - im guessing many of our newer players have never heard it it's the only rs tune that i ever listen to now, as it brings back those nostalgic memories of when i was a newb playing the game for the first time (how so very sad is that :XD: )
